I like the analysis here. You did a great job covering the bases on the external influences of the test. And more than everything else, thank you for not making this a 15 min video. Liked and subbed

Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it and I appreciate your support! 😁 I try to keep 0-60 compilations to 4-8m, as much as I enjoy talking I can see on the analytics that over half the people watching like to skip straight to the numbers lol. 🤷‍♂️😅

The bigger tires could make the difference as you said. Bigger tires are not only heavier, they put the engine at less of a mechanical advantage.

Sweet comparison video, been waiting for this one. To be fair to the Colorado/Canyon V6 fan boys that 2016 GMC Canyon you tested was the 305hp/269lb-ft torque version with the 6spd. The 2017-2022 model year had the 308hp/275lb-ft of torque with the 8spd. I have a 2017’ Colorado and maybe not 2secs quicker to beat the 2.7L but it’s faster than that 2016 Canyon just judging from watching its leisurely run to 60mph at 8.6secs 😳

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I haven’t done much to research the last gen of trucks so thanks for sharing the powertrain update they received! That would have definitely narrowed the gap a bit had I found newer examples to test! 🙂

@AutomotiveAnonymous208, the white colorado you pointed at in the beginning should have an 8spd in it and 308hp over the old gen 6spd and 305hp

What about a 2wd H.O. ?

That would be a big smokey burnout! At least without some very sticky after market tires. 😅

I will always go for the highest output engine. I refuse to be squished on the highway, like a slow-moving turtle. 🐢

High output engines are fun. 🤩

Because you buy a truck for 0-60. If that metric is most important to you, then you should not be driving a truck. Here’s an idea, let’s do some towing, mpg and payload tests with sports cars.

I mean some people legitimately do, why else would someone pay 100k for a Cybertruck, Raptor R, or TRX? 😜 But you have a fair point, thanks for sharing your opinion! 🙂

@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 they don’t buy them foremost for 0-60 because if that was the basis for purchasing they would have many other choices for much less money

Delusional. With how fast vehicles drive on the free way you need a fast vehicle to keep to safe. You're probably the guy in the left lane going 10 under
