The 2024 Oilers have a chance to make history by becoming the first team to come back from a 3-0 series deficit and win the Stanley Cup by clinching Game 7 on the road. The 1942 Maple Leafs are the only team to have previously overcome a 3-0 series deficit to win the Stanley Cup, but they secured their Game 7 victory on home ice.

What makes this so dramatic is that whoever loses is legitimately going to be devastated. I feel worse for loser than I feel good for the winner. This is gonna hurt whoever loses.

Being a flames fan has some really complicated emotions going with it right now.

This has been the most incredible Stanley Cup Finals I've ever watched, and it's not over yet! I remember going to games in the 80s during the Oilers' dynasty. I remember sitting right behind the Oilers bench at Northlands Coliseum with my view blocked by Glen Sather, so close to Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, and Coffey. I thought that was the highlight of my Oilers watching experience. No, nothing beats what we're witnessing right now. This season has been nothing but incredible. The playoffs have been incredible. And the Finals have been the most incredible comeback I have ever seen. I can't wait for Monday.

Last time a Canadian team won the Stanley cup was 1993 by the Montreal Canadians, the year I was born. Hope the oilers can finally bring Stanley back to Canada. Would be absolutely amazing.

For three games now, we've seen how Florida plays when winning once will earn them the Stanley Cup. Nobody has ever seen how Connor McDavid will play. And I think that's all there is to say on the matter. (Well, I'd say Draisaitl too, I'm just concerned he's too injured to find another level.)

I am 71 years old and seen the Leafs win four Cups. Then the Ballard curse came. This is background. In 2000 I was at a Sportchek and they had the Panthers hockey sweaters on sale for I think $14.99 so I bought and would use in pick up hockey. Since the I was given a Leaf sweater signed by Bower and when I retired I got a Leaf sweater with my name on the back. Since retiring we have moved and I packed the Leaf sweaters with the Panther sweater so they are cursed now just as the Leafs. How can we find new ways to lose a game. Just like the Leafs.

Honestly so happy knowing that Henrique was there with that experience. I have to imagine that he kept the guys grounded about this game. Now it’s completely uncharted territory.

On what would have been his birthday, the ghost of Bob Cole will drag this Oilers team to the Cup. It's inevitable.

Edmontonian here! I was walking downtown when they scored that first goal. You could FEEL the vibration from the Mosspit at ground zero, then the cheering rippled out in waves, it was amazing. Driving down Whyte Ave for the post-game celebration was insane, everyone honking and cheering, it's impossible to imagine how much louder things can get if we win game 7! Whatever happens, we've had a historic run and I won't be forgetting it anytime soon 💙🧡

I'm old enough to remember each and every Oiler Cup. Last time we were in the finals, we lost Game Seven to the Hurricanes after coming back from 3-1 down. We had all the momentum, and yet we got stoned by Cam Ward and lost 3-1. I really hope this time works out differently!

istg when barkov scored that goal early in the third, I went straight to bet365 and put money on florida winning because if I had to witness my team blow a 3-0 lead to lose the cup at least i’d be getting paid for it. I also live in fort mcmurray (4.5 hours away from edmonton) but the city was booming, flags and jerseys and sold out liquor stores, bbq’s and get-togethers for everyone, I was invited by 4 different groups of people to watch it and each wanted to go to a different bar. we are not edmonton but it feels like edmonton, orange and blue everywhere, mcdavid everywhere, my friends who once couldn’t care less about edmonton are screaming just as loud as I am… honestly it’s an experience i’ll never forget. Grateful for all this season has given me. from 2-9-1 to the 16 game winning streak to mcdavid getting 100 assists, to being tied with la 1-1 and it honestly looking like this could be la’s year, to being down 3-2 against vancouver and goaltending being the question mark (again) to being down 2-1 against dallas and down 0-2 in game three where I said (well, it was a great run) TO BEING DOWN 3-0 AGAINST FLORIDA… win or lose in game 7, i’m a proud oilers fan, every time it looks bad, the oilers comeback and make something out of it, i’ve never seen my hockey team be this resilient and it puts the widest grin on my face. I don’t think as an oiler fan being around other oiler fans, i’ll be able to forget any of this, and if we do somehow do the unthinkable and win, it may just be the last thing I think about when I die.

The Montreal Canadians, who won the Stanley Cup in 1993-the year I was born-were the last Canadian club to win the trophy. I hope Stanley can return to Canada at last, thanks to the oilers. Would be simply wonderful.

I had dinner with a friend last night - a good guy who just happens not to follow pro sports in any way. (They exist.) I asked him if he knew about these Cup Finals and of course he had no idea. I explained to him what was happening but it had no impact whatsoever. He was like "Oh." Not "Really? Jeez - I gotta watch game 7." Not "Seriously? Holy crap!" He had no appreciation at all for the magnitude of this event. And i felt so sorry for the guy. What a sad existence.....

This is great for hockey! I'm a Detroit fan who loves hockey but I have not always cared enough to watch the playoffs when we are in the midst of a long rebuild. That said, who cannot get excited watching one team going for their first championship, and the other team trying to be just the second team to win the Cup after going down 0 to 3. Go Oilers!
