Well, here it is: the first Detroit River Walleye Report of 2024! With Spring off to an early start, there is a ton of interest right now in jigging the D, for its magnificent Walleye. www.teamjesusoutdoors.com johnc@taylorhousing.org
Crushed Tuesday and Wednesday in the Canadian stain at whiskey plant and Gordie Howe. Chartreuse or antifreeze head and purple ice body. They were snapping!!! Don’t go to the river without a Canadian license!!! Thanks for the report TJO 🎣😃

Went out on Friday 15th. Fished out of Wyandotte, mud line in front of the candlestick all the way down. Spotty, random, but ended up with a 2 man limit. Hitting on dark colors. Slapped on minnows and it seemed to help.
Good update as usual John , well I was also out yesterday and pretty much struck out , 8 am till 1 from the bridge to Wyandotte west side of grassy shallow produced one
I believe that what is important this time of year, is to keep in mind that the majority of fish in the river, right now, are feeding. If you are not marking any fish (bait or predators) then it's time to move. Don't spend too much time in any one area, if it's not producing fish. The water temp is already warm enough, that you should be able to mark fish on your 2D, sonar, while you are jigging.
Well, after you have winterized it, there is really nothing keeping you from going back out, if you have an outboard. Fishing opportunities, in January and February are becoming more and more common. I do winterize my outboard, but if I take a notion to fish afterward, I just make sure to completely drain any remaining water out of it.
LOL Oh, you noticed that eh??? I did. I sold the Starcraft, at the end of 2023, and I stumbled upon a pretty good deal on a 2015 175 Alumacraft Competitor. I have only had it home for a week or two, so I don't have hardly any time in it yet. It will probably be my primary rig, for the next few years.
@@TeamJesusOutdoors Alumacraft's are nice. I came within a razor's edge of buying the 1850 Competitor in 2021 but chose the Lund Impact instead because I'm such a huge Al Lindner fan and he's always fished out of a Lund. LOL! Sweet, do a video on it so we can check it out.
Real finicky bite. Cadence was slow. They weren't slamming it. Had to be ready when they hit. Seemed to be grouped up never we would get 2 or three at once then nothing.
