Hello & Welcome to Harnetty Railways
In this for our Easter steam tradition we see 5 steam locos in action within 2 heritage railways during the the early part of the Easter Holidays for 2024.
We start from Wednesday through to GD Friday at The Severn Valley Railway as we see 3 steam locos in action.
We start with The 75069 Fund's Standard 4 4-6-0 75069 with 1 shot at the crossing north of Highley & at the top of the 1 in 100 gradient as she heads the 12:05pm service from Bridgnorth.
We next loco we see is 1 of the 2 big named locos in this video newly returned to steam after 22 years Locomotive Services Group's A2 Pacific 60532 Blue Peter while on loaded test runs as part of his running in period in readiness to return to the mainline for the 1st time in over 2 decades paired with LSL's MK3 sleeper car stock to test the air brakes as the A2 with fitted with them during the restoration.
We see the A2 between Bewdley & Bridgnorth over 2 days of the loaded test runs.
The next loco we see is The Severn Valley Railway's flagship loco 4930 Hagley Hall who he to was also running during our visit no on board filming behind the hall was done this time round as that was accomplished a few times during 2023 last year as mostly it was the lineside that got priority.
We get 2 lineside shots of the hall 1st north of Hampton Loade & the other in the pouring rain south of Northwood Halt paired with the Gresley teak stock brings back memories of the class working the cross country services in steam days.
We move onto Easter Saturday on a beautiful sunny day to The Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for their Easter Express day.
The loco operating during our visit was resident Standard 2 2-6-0 mogul 78022 & making his last operating visit to the railway was The Great Western Railway Society's 4079 Pendennis Castle due to phenomenal the castle had 2 extra running days on GD Friday & Easter Saturday.
We couldn't resist on having 1 more bash behind the Castle before he left the railway for the next port of call as part of his 100th Birthday tour The East Lancashire Railway.
We see both 78022 & 4079 Pendennis Castle at the lineside between Keighley & Oxenhope ticking off lineside locations that were not covered during the GWR Steam Gala weekend.
