People are acting like the new mustangs are so much more money than the last one. The msrp of my s550 pp1 without mag ride was 55 and with mag ride around 60.
Ordered a 2024 premium GT with the performance package, active exhaust, nite pony package and magna-ride. Vapor blue with grabber blue brake calipers. $81,000 dollars with taxes in BC Canada….worth it? The looks alone and sound sold me…
That sound would get on my nerves after a few days. Mustangs with 5.0's are common as dirt around here. I'll stick with my EV, which I can drive fast without drawing attention to the fact I am.
@@mowcowbell Exactly!! You are the textbook definition of the polar opposite, as to why we enjoy the ICE. Not necessarily do I like Mustangs, but I do enjoy the sound, a nicely tuned V6 or a V8, make.
Reading this while on a 3,500 + mile road trip in my 2018 S550 GT Premium, 6 speed, PP1, 60,000 + miles. Car has been stone cold reliable. No squeaks or rattles. I plan to drive this car another 100,000 miles. 🤠
The exterior isn't bad just like my last gf, she'll look fine with a few drinks in me, but that interior is atrocious. I hate screens. Ruined the car. So sad because this could have been an amazing send off to the mustang
I hear a lot of people say the same thing. The screens are absolutely amazing and they're here to stay. Not just in the Mustang but every car. Might as well get used to it.
It’s 2023 not 2003 the screens are where all automakers are going. Plus they took inspiration from the fox body mustang interior.they captured that retro look perfectly the last two generations. Time to move on.
I wouldn't say "inspired by" either Accord or Elantra. Similar, yes, but the idea that the Mustang was influenced by those seems rather unlikely. But I don't know.
Best comment ever: this car is worth buying just for the sound! Agree 100%. Can’t make up my mind between this glorious v8 and the fun and efficient (also quicker) BMW 240i xdrive. Great review btw. Cheers from Luxembourg 🇱🇺
The exterior is not too bad. I like the front end refresh. Dual fuel injection, auto start/stop, and cylinder deactivation has ruined the coyote. The interior absolutely sucks. I can’t beleive ford put those big stupid screens in it. If i wanted to sit in front of an ipad, i surely wouldn’t give $60k for it.
You forgot to call out, “Cattle guard”. I always crack up whenever you blurt it out, Sam. Haha- just as I posted this, you blurted out, “ Cattle guard!” I’m happy now-LOL
Thanks for review, about ready to purchase one it was between this and the jeep gladiator. Im trying to see if Ford gives first responder, college, and military discount. I'm out here in AZ so hopefully Earnhardt, Rodeo, Camelback, or Sanderson will make it happen. Looking for one just like the one reviewed love the color.
....this robotic transformer childish design makes 2013 Roush shining with ideal balance of sporty elegance and muscularity of a classic gentlemans GT.....meanwhile current Darth Vader fascia and overal look won't age well....
I can get up to 22 but part of my daily drive is hwy driving. I have already put 3000 miles on my car. On a long trip, if I drove 60, I got 26 to 28 miles per gallon. @@tri3pleagent
Great review. I'm absolutely loving the new car. The screens are a welcomed upgrade over the s550 (I'm biased tho as ive had two and was genuinely tired of that interior). All around, the s650 is a better, more refined car than the s550.
It's not "significantly redesigned" it has a new dashboard and front bumper. I'm getting sick of people calling this rEdeSigNeD. Not a Vette fanboy but C7 to C8 is an example of redesign.
In automotive terms, a "refresh" is a new dash and a new front bumper. A "significant redesign" is entirely new sheetmetal covering every square inch of the car, doors, fenders, hood, trunk, quarter panels, etc. They call it a new platform which is indeed rich, it is indeed not "all new from the ground up". It is however more than just a new dash and front bumper.
I rented a V6 Mustang about 15 years ago. It would do burn outs even with just the V6. Was very fun around town. But I didn't like the highway ride at all. Way too busy and bumpy. Going way back, I rented early Fox body Mustangs in the early 1980s. Those I actually liked a lot and remember being very impressed with the ride and handling.
I instantly thought two intakes would look amazing on that. All carbon fiber. A set of headers. The aftermarket is going to have a field day with this. Once they fix out their build quality issues (standard first year ford stuff).
I still miss my 2015 EcoBoost. Yeah it's nice to have V8 noises but the EB was so much lighter and athletic feeling. The 5.0 in the S550s felt so heavy and I imagine that still is the case in these new ones. I'd love to try one out soon.
Excellent review! Seems very objective and thorough. I agree on your points re the side mirrors small size. Sound of exhaust is amazing. Manual option excellent. Comfortable driving. Lack of switches and knobs is a flaw. To much reliance on computer screen for me. I prefer the BMW interior controls and build quality. I’d take an M2 or M4. For $60k it’s a bit pricey but you get the monster sound and power feel. The sound is the major draw.
Im thinking they got rid of the hard buttons for hvac to save on manufacturing costs. I would rather the buttons and knobs and a smaller screen if needed
Working on getting one just like this but grabber blue and I am ready! Love the new everything about this car and I’ll drive it stress free and enjoy it! I am all about that roar even though I’ll be neighborhood rolling
When the 2015's came out, the styling was controversial. I really liked it. Then everyone warmed up to it. When the 2018's came out, many were poopooing the styling changes on that one too. I wasn't quite as keen on it as I was the 2015's but I didn't think it was as bad as some were making it out to be. I've warmed up to it nicely and wouldn't be opposed to it at all. Now the 2024's are being released and I'm kind of where I was with the 2018's as far as the exterior styling is concerned but as before but I don't think it's that bad. What I'm struggling with on the 2024's is the interior. I'm not keen on the dash layout with those two large electronic screens. To me, they look like a couple of notebooks that have been bolted on top of the dash like an afterthought. I didn't really care for the electronic dash they introduced on the 2018+ models but at least it looked like it was designed to be part of the dashboard.
I agree about the interior and those screens. Seems cheap and devoid of style. As far as exterior goes, the only years I disliked were the 1994-1998. Too jellybean. They fixed it in 1999.
@@TestDrivenTV -that’s very true! Actually my turbo four in my BMW230i was more fun but didn’t sound as good in a way! But the Mustang GT is not very light or nimble. It is fast after you get to over 4500rpm but weak in torque from the line, especially in manual mode. It’s all About the V8 sound and feel as you say
