I photograph an event that does a floater rock climbing wall event every year. That would be a fun stand-alone event (Vendor Village). Athletes sign up for their own time (has a specific deadline relative to the competition). It'd be a great close-up spectator opportunity.
Just saying if crossfit had its own tv channel or designated time blocks on ESPN etc where they have their own show for news in crossfit once a week and also have 1 hour shows of each athlete day in a life leading up to the CrossFit games for all the qualifying athletes and teams each year and just to specify having one show per athlete and team would grow the sport so much. I heard Dana White say he sells so many ppv and tickets because he is good at story telling each fighters life of coming up and showing the drama/obstacles that come along the way. CrossFit needs something like this regularly on national tv for it to grow. Also semifinals needs to be live on tv and atleast have some sort of open recap tv show series that tracks some peoples way from open to quarterfinals then leading up to semifinals to hype it up more.
