In this video I review a 2024 GMC Sierra Elevation Edition with the Max Tow Package. This 2024 GMC Sierra is equipped with the 3.0 Liter Duramax Diesel Engine. This in-line 6-cylinder engine produces plenty of torque while operating smoothly and quietly.
These are my first impressions of the truck as we're still under 1000 miles but stay tuned for the channel for any updates.
We also discuss two of the best first upgrades for a modern pickup truck. A spray in bed liner from Patriot Liners. This liner comes with a lifetime warranty and looks great. The second upgrade is rear wheel well liners from Husky Liners. Here is an affiliate link if you're interested in supporting the channel and liked what you saw about the liners: amzn.to/4f8XSkh
Thanks for watching!

We were shopping the Sierra 1500, but ended up getting the Sierra 2500HD SLE. The SLE package was a step down from what we had, but it provided everything we needed, the only thing we gave up was leather. We also stayed with gas, but when shopping the 3.0L diesel was an interesting option. We also went from a crew to a double-cab, being older we just didn't need the extra space. We're very happy with the GMC so far. Congrats on your new truck!

@andysmith8544 Thanks! We seriously considered the HD trucks too but the discounts weren't nearly as good in our area.

The 3.0 is the best engine option in the GM half-tons. No cylinder deactivation. 495 lb-ft torque. 28+ mpg.

@mickeycseki649 the tow mirrors can be an option on any trim level, but I think you'll find most all of the trucks with thr max trailing package, also have these mirrors.

Height is one thing I can’t stand about new trucks… and I’m 6’-1”! I could reach over the side to the center of the bed of my ‘94 F150. I can barely reach the bottom over the side on my 2012 F150. It may be unfounded, but I’m skeptical of wheel liners like that. Salt and moisture will still get to the metal, and it’s the rust you can’t see to address that is most problematic. I get my truck undercoated at NHOU every other year, and then never wash it until it’s time for a recoat. It’s dirty and doesn’t look pretty, but I care about function and longevity over appearance. So far the frame is still clean. Around the strut towers in the front under the hood is the only surface rusted area, and a minor spot on the body at the passenger side rear fender. I plan to have them address the strut towers this year. With a gas non-turbo V6 I get 18-20mpg with daily driving, and 21-23 with straight highway driving. It’s been a great truck! Enough modern conveniences, without being electronic everything 🙂.

@@ProductiveRecreation I'm hopefully taking them off, cleaning things out, and a healthy coat of Surface Shield under there will be a fine approach. I was going to make an appointment with NHOU when I saw some data and reviews on Ready Seal. I went that route with this truck.

The fabric-like liners work excellent. Have never had issues with them and I'm right in the heart of the rust belt.

You answered my question in the diesel in the last few seconds! We have been toying with an upgraded truck but it’s hard to get rid of a known entity…our “new” truck is 19 years old with 250k miles and our old one even more! The problem is both are so darn reliable and use all the same filters etc it’s just hard to justify. Would you feel comfortable giving a 10k range of cost for that? Great addition to the homestead!
@Academy_Farm
@Academy_Farm 2 месяца назад
@badgerlandturf Awesome! Reliability is a wild-card with these newer rigs but the warranty helps... Our deal came to about $54,000 after incentives. Helped quite a bit that we traded a GM rig.

I see that your truck has the larger "2500HD" mirrors. Were those a factory option or part of your upgrades but were overlooked in your comments? Nice truck!
@Academy_Farm
@Academy_Farm 2 месяца назад
@williamcraig9271 I believe these are "optioned" on all of the trucks with the max tow package. At least from what I saw. Yes, I didn't touch on the tow mirrors or the rear end that's geared 3.73; both are great benefits IMHO. Thanks!

They come with the trailering package. My 2024 Silverado 3.0 max tow has them as well. Really nice mirrors, especially with the 360 camera setup.
