Definelty the right time to make this video, gas prices about to sky rocket either today or soon. Thank you for the advise, I feel like this helps with any vehicles for the most part.

I have a 2024 Sport and avg 42 - 44.6 mpg. My commute during the week in entirely on city roads in stop and go traffic. I drive in Econ Mode with Shift selector in B Mode to use as regenerative braking. I too keep it at 25%, from a complete stop to acceleration, and once reach desired speed, I drop it down to to 0%. or just above. Terrain will also effect your MPG. Surprised the Author of the video did not mention. I am fortunate enough to live in a valley, really flat terrain on my commute.

I won’t even compare the Rav 4 Hybrid to the CRV. It is not a real awd. The electric motor in the back will never match the power on the front. Honda is King with true awd Hybrid. I’ll take mpg hit.

Awd is garbage on the crv and not worth the money watch a few slip test and you will understand. The Honda pilot trail sport however has one of the best awd systems available.

Anyone who owns one of these has to place a spare tire within this out the gate.
@stachowi

the hybrid doesn't come with a spare tire, they say it's because the battery takes up that spot, but i think they could have fit a little donut in there.
@eoh8915
@eoh8915 Месяц назад
It's a mistake to design a car without a spare. It's an inconvenience to drivers, and everyone EVERYONE should know how to change a tire. The shortsighted thinking that ' I can use the air kit' supplied by Honda or , ' can use roadside assistance ' to solve not have a spare is a half measure at best. The Honda kit does not fix every flat caused by a large puncture ( it will fix the majority of them but not all.). And it will not fix a sidewall tear. In those circumstances -withour a spare- you are stuck waiting on Roadside Assistance. Roadside Assistance will probably take 1-3 hours to arrive. ( I hope you enjoy the wait.) Roadside Assistance does not carry a spare tire. So either they can fix a puncture or you will be towed to service. If service can't fix your tire and has to replace it, you're spending $200.00 or more on a tire. Likely more since with FWD two tires are beneficial to match tread and help alignment. On an AWD.... all 4 should match tread wear. That's a repair bill or you may have paid similar for Honda's tire plan. Either way you have used both your time and money not having a spare. And what if the flat or blowout occurs after service is closed? You've been towed to a shop and now have to leave the car there and either Uber home if close enough, sleep in the car, or pay for a hotel. All because Honda did not put a spare in the car. Did that stop me from buying one? No. But I did purchase a spare. And it does take up cargo space. However I don't travel with my life loaded in the car so it still has plenty of space for groceries or a couple pieces of luggage. Yes. It's a pain in the 'youknow' not having a proper place for a spare. But better than the unlikely worse case scenarios that do happen. ( My 2017 Forester that was all city driving had three flats over the 7 years I owned it. My previous Toyota Matrix only had one in the 6 years I owned it. So 'stuff happens'.) I'm not posting a link to spare tires. I'm not advertising. Just explaining points that deserve consideration. And while the RAV4 does have a spare, I think the Honda drive and build is superior. So it was worth the cost and hassle to purchase an aftermarket spare Best of luck to all.

Hello from Canadian West Coast. After 5 months and 11000km (7000miles) , my average fuel consumption (EX-L Hybrid AWD) is 6.1l/100km (38.5mpg). I drive 70% city/30% highway. During the winter I was averaging 36mpg (mild west coast winter), now I'm getting around 39mpg. I drive in Normal mode, using paddles to engage regen braking whenever I can. Great car to drive.

Same. GVR. picked it up in July last year. Warm months last year 6.4, slowly climbing to just over 7 in the winter and now back dow to 6.1 over the last couple of months. That winter fuel mixture makes the biggest difference because it doesn’t get that cold around here. That and using the heater now and then.

I bought a 2023 Kia Sportage hybrid Sx Prestige. Better interior and tech than what Honda offers and Honda is overpriced with fewer features. No panoramic sunroof, No ventilated seats, No spare tire, No 360-degree camera, the infotainment system is small and you still pay more. I average 44.5mpg more than the EPA which is 38/38 city/highway combine and it now has 11000 miles on the odometer No issues whatsoever.

I'm averaging 39-40 MPG in mine on a tank. MUCH better than the 24 in an HR-V I owned previous. It seems to get its best MPGs just letting the engine trickle charge the battery and only exceeding about 12 or 13% on the power gauge only when necessary. The two lockup gears also do a great job with instant MPG on the uphills. By rolling onto the gas going uphill and not jabbing at it, the battery assists the engine so it feels like the engine is doing no work as opposed to unlocking the gar and forcing it to scream to maintain speed. Also, not really condoning this, but I noticed there's no straight-up "freewheeling" mode when in gear. If I have the power flow meter as close to zero as I can get, I still either end up having regen or use up battery to maintain speed. So on long, slightly downhill sections that last a mile or more, I put it in N. Seeing as it only affects the electric motor (as opposed to gears and belts engaging when going between selections) it causes no harm to the car. Not technically legal in many states but it improves MPG slightly in low traffic scenarios where pedal modulation just doesn't cut it

I bought a 2024 Honda CR-V Sport L in April of this year. I am currently averaging 37.1 MPG. I drive about 75%/City and 25%/Highway. I live in the Southwest. So I’ve had my AC on since mid-May. I’ve been driving for nearly 60 years and in terms of economy, handling and a quiet ride, this is the best car I have ever owned.

I bought my Honda CRV hybrid July 5, 2024. I have 2672 miles. 39.8 miles per gallon lifetime. i’ve come to the conclusion that I keep Mike hybrid in the sport mode. I tend to make sure that my regenerative breaking is set to four arrows down. It does take a little bit of time to get used to driving the car this way by doing this, I noticed that my battery, stays between 50% and 100%, which allows the car to use the battery more often. I also use the methods that the guy suggested in the video of trying not to go over the 25 RPM setting for 25% setting also to use cruise control quite often..
@54yearOldNinja
@54yearOldNinja 21 день назад
@@Elektroslag the regenerative braking is set to halfway which allows you to not have to remember to click the left-handed paddle to increase the regenerative breaking and increase your charging power. This allows the battery to stay charged at higher levels, which all allows the car to run on battery for longer periods of time, especially when cruising at speeds lower than 40 miles an hour.
@54yearOldNinja
@54yearOldNinja 21 день назад
@@Elektroslagi do not experience an increase in engine run time during acceleration.. Remember when accelerating to keep the engine power below the 25% mark when possible.. When you reach your crushing speed say 30-35 miles per hour the engine almost always shuts off and runs on battery. Especially when battery is above 50 percent. I've actually increased my MPG to 40.7 using this method. I have just over 6000 miles now.. Give it a shot for tank of gas and see what happens.

@theelectronomer2319
@theelectronomer2319 3 месяца назад
Do you mean when the car is in either R or D? If so, it makes that high pitched sound to alert nearby people that there's a car nearby (since electric motors are dead silent when at a standstill), and so it is in no way meant to be for noise cancelling. Hope that helps. 👍

@mclark4218 3 месяца назад
@@theelectronomer2319 That is normal. It was another high pitch noise I guess people are hearing not related to that and more constant. It’s possible I read it incorrect but having a constant noise while driving would drive me nuts! I have sensitive hearing.

Question about the Civic hybrid. We test drove in a court hybrid about 2 years ago. It had a way to drive it in electric only for short-range trips. Does the Civic hybrid have the same option?
