Had a 2014 when they came out in 2014, had also a Yamaha FZ09. Sold the Grom and it was a mistake, I'm buying a new 2024 Grom next month. Can't wait to ride one again, fun, inexpensive and low cost.
I picked up a 2024 and after I got 300 mi and broke it in. I opened it up with the real strong wind downwind. I got it up to 67 mph against the wind. A little over 50 mph and I weigh 195 lb at 5:10
I bought a used Chinese TaoTao 125cc hellcat. $900. Almost an exact copy of the Grom. If you buy one, you better be mechanically inclined. If you don't buy a better carb and battery for it, you'll have trouble starting it if it sits awhile. Use only super unleaded or non bio fuel. Bio fuel gums up carb jets. If you buy one, strip it down and retorque the nut and bolts. Adjust chain or replace. Adjust handle bars and head bolt. Chinese are great at Kung Foo and Take out food but they can't put a bike together for shit.
I have a Tao racer50 with a 80cc big bore kit...have had for 6 years, never had a problem with stock carb. I dint even put stable in it. Just put in the garage during the winter. Thinking of getting a new hellcat
@@michaelwright6088 The 2024 Hellcat is much better. Does 50 mph. Possibly 60 mph if you put better carb and intake and gearing. The 150cc RPS Condor does 65 right out of the box.
Man I really wish they would start making a 150 cc or even a 200cc , it really sucks that the lifan kp mini has a 150cc but is a shit bike and the Honda Grom is a great bike with a 125cc.
