I’ve owned 5 full size Range Rovers and just bought a 2024 Santa Fe Calligraphy about 2.5 months ago. It has every option for more than half the price of a Range Rover and approximately $12k less than a Kia Telluride which is, by the way, much more restrictive interior colors. Test drove both and went with Santa Fe and very happy I did.
This is definitely one of the best 3 row SUVs in a while. A very strong offering that provides a premium practical and upscale interior, and a boxy exterior
And yes, I would buy the Hyundai Santa Fe calligraphy. Even though it's too expensive. I don't care about the price. It's about the luxury that's in the car if I had kids that would have been the perfect car for me
Great video. People should be aware that matte paint requires entirely different care than gloss. You CANNOT take it through an automatic car wash (it will scratch) and you NEVER wax matte paint. If you are not someone who enjoys (or can afford ) regular auto cleaning then matte finishes will not likely be a practical choice for you. You may want to research ceramic coating to see if you want to go that route as an added layer of protection, scratches on matte paint cannot be repaired or buffed out. This is the exact model, color and trim package I've ordered, I'm expecting delivery next month and I'm going into it with my eyes open about the cleaning regimen.
And I would inspect it up, down, left, and right when it arrives to make sure there’s not a single flaw! 🤣 You chose a beautiful color. Enjoy your new SUV!
@@YTYTYTY7 I'm thinking that in the winter a touchless car wash may be the best option for a quick clean. Have you taken your car through regularly and do you notice any difference in the matte finish? Do you have a ceramic coating, I've read that the harsh chemicals in touchless can weaken coating. Sorry for all the questions, I just want to benefit from other peoples' experience
I went to my local Hyundai dealer last week and asked about one of these. And they said that their dealership is offering 3 years worth of car washes that are included with a new purchase of one of these.
@@grnoodleman that’s brilliant. What a great way to get people in and hey why not combine it with a service appointment. Keeps the customer coming to their dealership
Bought one in this trim and it was just delivered on saturday. Honestly I am in love. Nothing anywhere close to the price offers what this offers. Also such a smooth ride.
i cannot deny it, I really really REALLY wanrt one of these in this color, but I'm, not buying ANYTHING until I see the new Palisade/Telluride whenver hey debut.
Another very thorough review, fellas. Well done. A couple of constructive criticisms, though. 1. Instead of just measuring the rear opening, measure the narrowest cargo space, typically the wheel wells. This helps us understand what realistically could be carried as cargo - sure something 4ft wide goes in the back, but does it pass the wheel wells? 2. For the taller audience (5'10"+), like most of my family and friends, try measuring rear legroom when the front seat is all the way back. I suspect that 9 inches of knee space drops considerably.
According to the specs on Hyundai’s website, Highway Drive Assist 2 is only available on the Calligraphy. I was disappointed by that because I want a second row bench AND HDA 2…sadly not on option.
Exactly, and I wish this was addressed here. Iknow they have another video where they had a problem with the DCT (dual clutch transmission). That scares me as it's been a widely known problem with Hyundai, even with class action lawsuits. Bells and whistles are great, but not if it's in the shop every other month. Warranty be damned.
We definitely love ours. Really wanted the white interior as it looks more luxurious however I could already picture a kids muddy footprint on the seats so we went with black interior.
For 50 grand its hard to believe you get all this stuff. In terms of luxury, this is comparable to the germans. For 50k, you’re getting stuff that not even some higher end expensive vehicles offer. Its definitely the best in this class.
Okay this would be my perfect Santa Fe: hybrid calligraphy in green with pecan brown interior. I’d have the dealer swap the standard wheels for the XRT. I wish it came with the massage seats and fog lights though - I’d totally trade those for the finger print scanner and UV sanitizer thing. Still love the car though.
I’ve ordered a Hybrid Calligraphy. It saddens me though that it doesn’t come with the power adjustable steering wheel and auto dimming side mirrors. I would have happily paid a bit extra for that.
I still love our 2023 Santa fe Calligraphy AWD 2.5 turbo. I do like the dashboard and camera rear view mirror. We don't carry many people being in our 70s so the 3rd row doesn't interest us. I like our panoramic sunroof in ours rather than the 2 sunroofs. I believe we will keep our 2023. Had it 18 months and 4000 miles so it stays in the garage unless it is sunny 😂 The 2024 has a different look which is ok. The new one weighs about 500 lbs more and will effect performance which is important to me.
The matte colors are pretty, but if you Google about the paint, you shouldn't go through a car wash. Should only be handwashed. A consideration if you want to wash the salt off your car after a snow and don't want to be in the freezing cold outside handwashing.
The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is a fantastic choice! It's a stylish and reliable SUV that offers a comfortable ride, spacious interior, and advanced technology features. With its sleek design and impressive performance, it's sure to turn heads on the road. Whether you're going on a road trip or just running errands, the Santa Fe has got you covered. Plus, Hyundai is known for its commitment to safety, so you can feel confident behind the wheel. Enjoy exploring in your new Hyundai Santa Fe! 🚗😊
Thanks for your great reviews. Maybe you guys can be the first to include front passenger seat reviews. 😅 I always wonder why that gets left out. 🤷♀️ Does the Calligraphy front passenger seat also have power settings, lumbar setting and the cool reclining feature? Thanks!
Thanks! We actually used to include it but data showed that most people skipped that part of the review. Nevertheless, it has the same adjustments but no relax seat on the passenger side.
Holy fantastic, Batman! But, as I always say, most vehicles only look great in maybe just one available color in the whole lineup. And that matte gold-ish one here makes all the curves actually POP with luxury! Unfortunately, though, every one with the other regular/metallic paints really flattens the panels, giving it a look of a cheap box.
that Transmission issue always lingers in my mind, i was hopeful kia/hyundai have improved, but they try to hide their weakness with all these luxury and tech
26:45 after 9am EDT 3/19/24 (embargo) can you also comment / opine regarding ride quality, harshness etc; not only with other trim levels but also with the genesis gv70, gv60 and ioniq 5 ? ..... Mainly bcoz a lot of customers outside of Hyundai/ HMG like myself got rid of my Volvos and more premium brands, and came interested in HMG due to the CUSHY ride of the Genesis and supposedly excellent ride COMFORT of the ioniq5.
Just went to Cincinnati auto show. This vehicle was there in this color. The color is cool. The Hyundai rep said you cannot run this mat finish through a car wash or you'll ruin it. So, you have to hand wash your car. The bulbous rear is not bad in dark colors. I didn't like the H head lights. I have the 2023 Santa Fe Calligraphy and I wouldn't trade it in for this model.
I really hate the digital displays in place of functional buttons. Trying to drive and make adjustments at the same time is very annoying. I wish they would keep the physical buttons.
Looking forward to seeing Calligraphy Hybrid Msrp ……for fall. If the out door price is under $50k, I’m in….(plus more comfortable with that than the full gas transmission problem you guys ran into!!! ) Keep doing what u do Guys!! 👍
8:46 , 21:34 it's missing the front passenger seat button (for rear passenger / driver to move the passenger sleeping in a front seat) that's def present in other markets. Wtf HMG ! 😡 even the 2025 ioniq5 has this feature ... Unless the infotainment system includes those as virtual controls to move it like it does for moving the rear row seats
Welp, drove one today and I don't fit in it, just like so many new vehicles.. was "kinda" nice.. i went in expecting a good quality, but the touch points didn't really win me over. The seats, and driving position was terrible for my body type. at 6'2in tall, i have a small torso, so i need to go up, problem is, when you do that, it scissors you forward, and when you have long legs, you have no place to put them. Was a nice idea on paper, but too small..
Hey brothers, I don't have time to watch this right now, but man I love that color.I really wanted a Calligraphy Hybrid, but they're too spendy for me. My 24 Limited SF Hybrid is only affordable because I'm getting it for dealer invoice. Even then, it's pretty spendy. I'm a huge Hyundai fan and take a lot of heat for it from friends. I've had nothing but great luck with mine. My only gripe with Hyundai overall is that they've raised their price 50% over just 5 years. Toyota meanwhile, has only raised theirs by 25% in the same span of time. At some point the value proposition with Hyundai is no longer a reason to shop for their vehicles. Yes, the long warranty and the beautiful styling, along with the always advanced tech is very attractive to me. But the pricing might be at a point where people just start saying no. Looking forward watching your review. Have a great weekend all. BTW, I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Many don't like the look of the SF. I love it
@@bradfordsparks329 nope not even close Brad. I bought a fully loaded 2013 SF Sport 2.0T for 28K out the door. It had every option available and that's what I paid with tax and doc fees . The new hybrid limited will be closer to 45K out the door. See caredge to show Hyundai prices going up 50% over 5 years.
@@TheRange7 Sorry to burst your bubble, but as you will remember, the Santa Fe Sport was the small SUV. I owned the real Santa Fe LWB that had a longer wheelbase and cost significantly more. The top of the line 2024 hybrid will be significantly more than $45K.
@@TheRange7 FYI, the Santa Fe Sport was the smallish SUV. Whereas, the Santa Fe LWB was the larger one which I had. It was much more expensive than the Sport. The 2024 Santa Fe Hybrid will certainly be near $50K depending upon which trim level you purchase.
Can you confirm, the 2nd row passengers do not have their own climate control but the 3rd row passengers do? I did not see any controls in the video for the second row.
@@andresmattos7541 I have, nothing about the vehicles blowing up or catching on fire. But hey if you want to trust a company that has not made a decent engine since 2011 go right ahead. Car confections channel bought a new 24 and the dct broke after 30 miles.. such wonderful quality
Toyota transmission problems have been cropping up in 2017 to 2020 models of certain vehicles. There have been a number of complaints about the power train made to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), but no safety recalls to date. The Toyota transmission complaints over the past several years have been so numerous that attorneys are now assembling complainants to join a class action lawsuit against Toyota. The most common Toyota transmission problems logged with the NHTSA involve a lack of power or acceleration in the vehicles, or the automatic transmission remaining “stuck” in a particular gear. Complaints also include: Rough, delayed or sudden shifting Failure to accelerate from a stop Transmission shudder Sudden loss of power Premature transmission failure
I tried to like the Ford Flex. It never grew on me. I am trying to like this. I doubt I will. I guess I will call it the Santa Flex. Great for some, but not my cup of tea.
I like the exterior and interior of this compared to Highlander and Pilot but the reliability and resale value is below avg compared to its Toyota and Honda counterparts parts.. if I had super extra money to spare I’d go for this..otherwise.. it’s Toyota Honda Mazda with the smarter choice
I heard matte paint is not good on a vehicle? Also hard pass on captains chairs. I’d go with the XRT. A relative of mine has light colored leather in there Mazda and regrets it. Can’t keep it clean. 😂
There is absolutely no way I would pay $50K+ for the Santa Fe Caligraphy. It seems to be a nice well appointed vehicle, but it is not even hybrid. I know that is coming soon. Many buyers of this model are going to be deep into debt and underwater financially in a couple of years.
I just wish they would hurry up and make the calligraphy model that doesn't have the black out package..... meaning more chrome trim and regular non black calligraphy wheels....... Come on Hyundai!!! the rest of the world got the non black out models first....
