That 51 sounded like a beast!! The Green Triumph too! There are just so many sick looking master pieces here! Pfffff little rain, no problem! Oh damn, then there's the cars
Yes they did sound good. I was blown away by how loud some of them were. Yes I was able to catch a few cars there in the pits but they only ran like once or twice and I never knew ahead of time so I didn't catch any of them going down the track.
Older bikes so easy to get up and running. Today's bikes just like cars have so many electronics just to make them run. give me points and a carburetor any day!!!!
Till I met and started hanging out with Michael weems, the rider for 56'(see the last video if you didn't see it) I had never heard of these type of drag racing. Of course I knew about the nitro Harley types but not these vintage types.
@@KrakensGarageandAdventures it is. I had never heard of it before till Michael told me about it.. so interesting the amount of different motorcycles besides the "big names". Was cool to hear it run and the history he told me
@@jeffkennedy9028 it was definitely a pretty interesting track... With the corn fields being only feet from the drag strip and no guard rail on that side, which might have been a good thing at times.
They were very cool. I haven't been to a big drag racing like this before where they had these caliber of vehicles. I had went to one of the street outlaw arm drop deals where they had ONE car they was really hitting it like these nitro harleys were. I really want to go see a NHRA event one day.
I went to the AHDRA drags here in Ohio at Dragway 42 ,it wasn’t as big as the early 2000’s. I kinda hoped I’d see some older bikes, it was cool though.
@@atcjoe1600 they were talking about taking 56 up there but he is having some transmission issues he's trying to get figured out. Hopefully be running it a lot more places next year.
Real nice to see the Old school stuff again. I also noticed that a lot of those riders were really bad at shifting they need to get that down if they really want to race because it is hard on the Bikes to miss gear's like that with the over revving it's hard on the Old Iron!
Fun video to watch but hell man some of them bike owners need to get there engines tuned as wow most of them were so off to the point it was not worth running down the track.
I think several was having a hard time with the track itself. Reason I say that is they can't race any towards the later parts of the day as the moister start to come up onto the track from under it. They have been getting a ton of rain up there and like two weeks prior the whole track was flooded and under water. The rain thursday night didn't help matters so several were thinking there might have still been some water under the track, which is why several was having problems. The sun shined all day Friday and mostly Saturday, which will make up most of the next video. You can see bikes were starting to act a lot better on the track as the event went on until it started raining Saturday afternoon which reflooded the entire track.
They all were having problems that day due to the rain the weeks leading up to the race. Part two video they really started to gain some more speed until it started raining. The track holds moister really bad.
Next year bring it out there and see if you can do some gruge racing. They were suppose to be doing that between around this year but they were chasing rain all weekend. I would have loved to seen some grudge racing as I'm more of a line em up and see how gets to the end first aka race what you brung and hope you brung enough.
I'm down in gulfport pretty often so i'll try to keep an eye out for them coming. Do they go more than just that memorial day, i think it is, there at the track?
