We know we're dealing with two camps of people here, and there's nothing we can do or say to change your minds. So instead, what's something about the OTHER vehicle in our challenge that surprised you? That's right, we want to see if y'all can say anything nice about the other team. Let us know in the comments below!
I picked Bronco specifically for IFS and on-road manners. That's where we are going to live with it most, despite going off-road a couple of weekends a month. That said, props to Jeep for firing a volley in the tow wars with the full-float axle. 5,000 lbs opens up a lot of opportunity for towing. I can see Ford engineering scrambling to match. Offering the integrated Warn winch is cool, too, for those that would want it. The Bronco Badlands offers the most off-road capabilities that 99.5% of people will need and is still very civilized on-road. Most Jeep (and probably Bronco) owners are pavement pounders and would probably be better off with a more street-friendly trim.
I'll bite...Ford can't figure their shit out when it comes to building and delivering their products. Anyone can buy or order the Jeep of their dreams and get it! Wow! What a concept! Ford needs to figure it out
I like the screen in the jeep but I’m definitely for the Bronco. I think it looks better then the jeep and just all around solid at whatever you do with it
All jeep owners (including me) should love and be thanking the bronco tbh. The segment really needed competition and the bronco is a solid alternative in my eyes. Just depends what you want out of a vehicle.
@@Wrangzilla Jeep had to step up their game to compete against the Hummer 4-doors...; that is where the Wrangler 4-door came from. Competition is good.
I was having a bad week due to car issues so I test drive both. The bronco was nice but that Jeep was a vibe and put me in a good mood I don’t know how to explain it. it just made me feel like I was living life. So I got a 24 rubicon X 💙
I felt the exact same way. I liked the bronco, but I loved the Jeep. Something about it put a real smile on my face that I didn’t quite get from the bronco. I’m now waiting for my Rubicon X to be delivered any day now.
I just drove them both this week…thought the ‘24 Rubicon X was awesome…shockingly good on the road and comfortable….also really liked the Bronco….I ended up buying a Bronco Badlands largely because it was harder to find one at MSRP….the thrill of the hunt?
My friend, I bought the new Pilot Elite 2023 and after using it for 3 months, I felt bored, and driving was a bland experience. I test drove the 2024 Wrangler Rubicon X 4xe yesterday morning, and I was instantly smiling and laughing 🎉! As if I had found a car that was built to suit my personality. Long story short, I traded in the new Pilot for it. I couldn’t be happier!!! Totally know how you felt!
To each their own, I would never trade my 392 Wrangler for a Bronco, not even a Raptor, but I do appreciate the fact that Ford brought back the Bronco and raised the bar so Jeep went all out and finally did the 392! And don't get me wrong I do like the Bronco, but the Wrangler is just better for me 🤟Great video tho 👏
I have a 4 door Bronco and love it. I think it's a better looking truck and more comfortable. But every time i see a Jeep i must say it is a special vehicle! So much history and so many different options and modifications. Great review.
MY middle of the road is, 2 Door Bronco > 2 Door Wrangler, 4 Door Wrangler > 4 Door Bronco in the looks department. 4 Door Bronco while I'm sure was a necessity for you falls flat in the looks dept for me.
I've owned 8 Jeeps over the years so I've got lots of experience with owning them. The newest Jeep I owned was a 2022 Rubicon Xtreme Recon I ordered new, & I recently bought a new 2024 Bronco Wildtrack. There are advantages to both, but the main selling point on the Bronco for me was the interior and comfort as a daily driver, since that's what I use it for mostly. The only slightly negative thing I have to say about Jeeps is just lack of comfort as I do a lot of interstate driving, otherwise they're great vehicles. The Bronco is just superior on the road, not only the interior comfort, but the on-road feel. I love them both & still have a highly modified 2004 TJ for off road playing.
I could not agree more. After many jeeps over the years in all configurations. I recently sold my 2018 JLU Rubicon and bought a 23 Bronco Wildtrak this time around because of the interior comfort and road manners. I daily drive it and love it. I also have a 22 Jeep Gladiator for my pickup so there you have it. In my mind...The best of both worlds.
Personally, as a bigger guy (6'5"), the bronco just hands down takes the cake. I drove a wrangler home 2 hours and it was miserable, I couldn't WAIT to get out of it. The Bronco I test drove in I could fit with room to spare AND my kid could still sit behind me. It was night and day difference. The wrangler I had to choose between having my shoulder and head pressed into the b pillar and roll bar, or slide forward and then have the dash eat my knees. Plus, the manual (I know the jeep has a manual as well) in that bronco with that little turbo was just a special kinda fun. Not in a fast car kinda way but a "weeEEEE!!" kinda way. I know everyone is gonna love their own style, but I'm going to try and get a Bronco this year.
Both can have doors and roofs easily removed. Both can do amazing on the trail. If all you're doing is maybe 5 or 6 rated trail, Bronco is probably better daily driver - more gears, and IFS gives better riding and handling. The Wrangler is superior in the rocks, and the Willys and Rubicon can fit up to 38" tires with no drivetrain upgrades from the factory - no need to worry about fragile tie rods like the Broncos have to deal with. But if you're not going bigger than 35s and not doing super technical rock crawling, a Bronco will likely be the easier vehicle to live with. And I say this as a Wrangler owner.
Very few people have broken tie rods on a Bronco. You make the assumption that it is from a false pretense that solid axles are more durable. If that’s the case, than why is almost every modern military vehicle equipped with an independent suspension? With the exception of high rated trails which no stock vehicle can be confident on, either the Bronco or Wrangler will be more than enough. The Bronco will be more comfortable and the Wrangler will have better traction on some obstacles, but other than that they accomplish the same task.
Great video guys. Initially i was leaning Jeep hard but after this review im torn. I really like the ease of door removal and stowage on the Bronco. Plus the interior is a lot better to. A price comparioson was the only thing missing from this comparison. Thanks great job!
I drive a Bronco and my wife drives a Jeep. We like them both. Recently we went to Jeep Invasion in Pigeon Forge, TN and the number of Jeeps easily outnumbered the Broncos at the super cel we attended in April. Good to have choices. Thanks for the review.
I was there as well this summer. IT was amazing. I have a Jeep Ruibcon 2022. But holy Jeeps down there. We went not for that but it was cool to see. One day we will go for the Jeep Invasion and bring my Jeep.
I believe that most people will rarely take their vehicles off-road (which is probably a good thing). For overall real-world use, it's the Bronco. For those who actually take their vehicles off-road, it's the Wrangler.
I drove a Jeep diesel for a week the last time I was in Florida. I couldn't say anything really bad about the thing. I own a Bronco now and love it. The interior is definitely better for me in the Bronco.
Jeep wrangler, no question! For prolonged off-road adventures there is no substitute. Great effort from Ford. I am glad that the Bronco is out there. I had the pleasure of driving both.
Love my '18 Sahara and it's with us for the long haul. But there is no denying the head turning looks (yes I'm aware that it's Jeepish) and updated daily driver capabilities of the Bronco. With the right package and trim line, it's a must have, and I plan to buy one next year.
The public hasn't seen the few hundred million in order cancelations from Stellantis canceling wrangler part orders for new wranglers due to lack of orders and sales.. we lost almost 19m in part orders this year from Stellantis at a single magna facility ..
When you do that articulation test, it would have been good to have an additional camera to see how far either back tire got lifted. I could tell from the front view that the Bronco surely lifted well off the ground on the passenger side on your pass. I do love the look of the Bronco, and I have an older Rubicon. Nice review, of things that actually matter to people buying these. Well done!
I would have liked a price comparison. This was a good comparison between the two vehicles. I guess one consideration might be how close a particular dealer might be in relation to where you live.
I went with a 4 door Wildtrak, hubby as has a 2 door Wildtrak, waiting on the Bronco Truck and he will get that in the Badlands. We both had Jeep Rubicon's and did not keep them because of how they drove on road. We just did Bronco Offroadeo in Texas and we learned so much about how amazing the Bronco is! We will always be Bronco people. We are outfitting ours for overlanding and there is just so much more room! We are just waiting on the Truck, rumor is it will be here in 2025. As soon as the order banks open we are ordering one.
I love my bronco wildtrak and with not much off-road experience, I can definitely say the bronco makes me look like a veteran with the crew I go with. Hats off to the bronco!
At 4:30 you say that the full float rear axle is available some Rubicon trims. In fact, the full float rear axle is standard on all Rubicon trims. What is confusing a lot of people, even "professional" reviewers is the tow rating is 5000 lbs only with the I4 and V6 with 4.56 rear end. However, even the Rubicon trims with 4.88s or powertrains such as 392, 4xe etc have the full floating rear axle.
I wanted to love my wrangler so badly. But after 2 front axle failures, one which could have been a very serious crash, you’ll find me driving a bronco
I cannot wait to test drive the Brono! A Jeep Wrangler has always been my dream car since i was a little girl but wow that Bronco is starting to change my mind😂😂. With either vehicle I choose I know i will be happy. They are both works of art for sure. I hope to have my down payment ready by March of 2024 ❤❤
I love both, but what made me go with the Bronco was that in the Jeep I constantly hit my head on the roll bar (?) behind my head. Plus the seating is TIGHT on the Jeep. I'm not crazy tall at 6'2" but I kept thinking that I would be in trouble if I was ever rear endeed in a Jeep. I think both options are great though and I do love off roading in my Bronco.
Bronco any day. IFS gives it leagues better handling and steering, and if you actually do serious off-road driving, you’re probably going to modify the vehicle to suit the trails anyway. You can modify the hell out of them since both have tons of aftermarket support now, so either one can conquer any trail within it’s capabilities. With regards to customization, the AUX switches and easily removable everything makes the Bronco pretty painless to customize. The fender flares can be taken off easily with just fingers, the doors come off with 1 wrench, and any body panel can be removed with just the tool kit. With the Jeep, you’d have to tear it apart to do any electrical work, the doors take a while to get off, and there’s only two roof segments (sorry, no hanging out the top for 2nd row passengers). Inside, the Bronco’s seating is more comfy, the cabin is more spacious, the infotainment is better, and the interior is safe to wash due to the rubberized floors and marine vinyl seats. The Jeep has a little higher material quality (until you step up to the world-beating Raptor), but other than that there are no pros vs the Bronco. I like the winch option on the higher Jeep trims, but you can just get an Everglades Bronco if you want a winch. And again, huge aftermarket support means tons of options in that arena for both cars. Overall, the Bronco is just way more convenient and everything is easier in general.
I waited to get my first Wrangler, even though I’ve built them for about 11 years, until they came with curtain airbags, power seats and 35s. And I bought every option I could. Im glad the Bronco came along, but nothing compares to a Wrangler.
I’m on my 3rd Wrangler but wish the Bronco had been more available when I purchased my most resent Wrangler in 2021. Love the Bronco with the Sasquatch pkg but without it I like the look of the Wrangler better. Seems like Bronco is a little more refined on road and I love that the hardtop has 4 removable panels, brilliant. With Wrangler you get the one touch sky roof which blows any set up Bronco has away. For me its a coin toss and next go around will take a long hard look at the Bronco but price and availability will be big factors. Ps the extra sound insulation Jeep claims on the updated 2024 is only available in the Rubicon X
This video was really informative and helpful. I am very interested in both the Bronco - Outer Banks and Jeep Wrangler (Sahara). This video brought out a lot of good points for both vehicles. I think the placement of the "Oh-shoot" handles is a great point.
The Jeep is surprisingly good on the road now and the Bronco is surprisingly good off-road. The edge goes to Jeep for being more reliable right now but you can’t go wrong with either. Bronco with aftermarket tie rods for me
The Bronco is very good vehicle but the biggest problem other than the toothpick tie rods is that the dealers have no inventory and their bumping the price over MSRP. Even the used ones are expensive. I live in a small town outside of Portland and my local Jeep dealer is flush with Wranglers and Gladiators and you will find discounts on them. Right now, I am in SW Colorado where we took my son's Gladiator (Mohave Trim) over Engineer and Cinnamon Pass with no problems. The soft suspension did bottom out on a couple of rough sections. Overall, the Mohave suspension is the most comfortable ride of any Jeep (solid axels). The long drive from Oregon to Colorado was very comfortable. I am a bigger guy and the seats in the 21 Gladiator fit me fine. Could have been a change on the 24s. As for the articulation test you did, repeat it where you're on a 13% grade in loose rock. I think you will find the Jeep does a whole lot better than the Bronco.
Usually people are breaking tie rods because they are using their front dif locker and trying to turn full tilt to go over obstacles. It’s all in the driver…
That tie rod thing is just something people regurgitate because they heard it online. We've done tons of off-roading in the Bronco Badlands with no issue at all. I'm talking rock-crawling, high-speed Baja, hanging a rear wheel in the air on an off-camber decent, etc. I'm running factory KO2s, so I can't comment on people who modify without doing it properly.
You can find Broncos at MSRP if you look around…I just bought a Badlands at MSRP in Auburn, MA…shout out to IRA Ford for not marking it up like the the other Boston Area criminal dealers…and agreed….literally hundreds of Jeeps marked down below MSRP at every Jeep dealer around Boston
@@jackcolt6875 Thanks for the reply. I hope your new ride gives you miles of smiles. I did a quick check around my area and found most asking me to call or email for their price. One was very upfront and showed a $15K bump on all their Broncos in stock. What I really want is to buy one at X-Plan price (about 1% below invoice) but I don't see that happening anytime soon.
Jason is back! Great video as always. My dream video would be Jason in a 392 Rubicon and Brad from trail recon in a Bronco Raptor with Marco from overlanx in a ranger Raptor! Make it happen at the sand dunes Edmonds! Or a cool flexy off-road location with great views. Make it an adventure.
I just traded in my 2021 392 for the 2024 392 and the two piece acoustic glass and sound deadening made a noticeable difference and the stereo sounds night and day better. The guys at my audio shop were shocked that that was the same factory stereo from previous years. I’m shocked and this is my 9th jeep and for the first time im considering leaving the factory stereo alone
Here’s the thing, they are both fantastic. For somebody who is used to a top of the line super capable Jeep, the bronco might not be that impressive. For somebody like me who was introduced to offroading by the Bronco, it’s pretty much the raddest thing ever. And yeah the solid axel thing makes the Jeep better in harder offroading, but I can tell you so does being a talented driver and I have yet to take on a trail in my state that my bronco simply couldn’t do.
I used to own a 2012 jeep wrangler and as much as people hate the lack of space on the inside of the jeep, I actually enjoyed it. I’m 6’2 and it felt cozy being inside my jeep. Not to mention, I had roll down windows so if a passenger left theirs open I could just reach over and roll it back up, I could easily reach over all manual locks on all four doors. So yeah, keep wins in giving the driver accessibility inside the cabin with its compact design.
I drive a Toyota fj Cruiser, and I just bought a 2024 Ford Bronco. The Bronco is a smooth, attractive vehicle. I still love my fj cruiser more than any vehicle out there! I hope they come out with a new one. I'll gladly buy another!
Owning 14 jeeps and my most recent purchase jeep 392, You cannot go wrong with a jeep but I’ve recently started taking some road trips back country adventures and the jeep on my last trip exhausted me (Driver fatigue) so I test drove the bronco raptor and was absolutely amazed with the vehicle and comfort so I purchased it, my personal opinion you cannot go wrong with a Jeep no matter which one you get they are awesome they will do everything that you needed to do but if you’re looking for comfort I would say bronco I don’t have experience with the standard broncos only the bronco raptor but it is a pretty amazing vehicle.
I have a wanted a new Bronco since about 1978 or there about. I didn't like the change to the sawed off pickup truck. Well, now I have a 23 Bronco Big Bend, traded in my 2020 Colorado ZR2 Bison diesel. The ZR2 was much more capable but I didn't really need it. Love the Bronco. It is great on trips. I've had it since March and no off road, just dirt roads so far. Being a BB it didn't have any real skids, just plastic junk. So I've added some skids to everything except the fuel tank. I will hopefully do that soon. I also have a jeep, well, it is a Ford, a 1942 Ford GPW. I went to buy a modern jeep several years ago and surprisingly it didn't feel much wider than the 1942! I love the jeep Rubicon but not enough to buy one. About the video which was great, what was the total "tons" of each vehicle. LOL. Also, it was obvious the jeep was a Rubicon but what was the Bronco. Disconnecting sway bar suggests First Edition or Badlands?
Yeah..I'd take the Wrangler over the Bronco. Both perform very similarly, so it comes down to looks. The Wrangler just looks a lot more off-road oriented and more "muscular" than the Bronco. Bronco looks like a toy Tonka truck imo
Pretty good test with the bottle of water. Think I'm going to try it with my Mo-chine. I'm surprised that the wrangler didn't take a few more questions from the desert runner.
Had an 18 JLU rubicon for 66000 miles. I can say the Jeep is iconic in looks. With that said it was in the shop more times than I would like to admit. Thank God I had an extended warranty. The on road manners were horrible. Traded it in on a 23 badlands sas package. It’s more refined in every way. It’s only been a little while but time will tell. As many previous Jeep owners that I spoke with who switched to the Bronco I wouldn’t go back. To each his own.
I continue to drive my 97 Toyota 4 runner I bought 2 years ago with 200k on the odometer for $3,000.00 dollars ! Zero issues after putting almost another 20k on the odometer ! I wonder if these two off roaders will do as well ? They don’t make many like that anymore ! I still like the way the Jeep looks over the Bronco !
That will be interesting. I think it will do okay. People love the Land Cruiser and if it is at a lower price point than the ridiculous Wrangler then it'll do great
@@vigilantemotors I agree, the Redesign was the best thing they could have done to keep the land cruiser in the market and introduce it into a different segment. The wrangler always sold well, the bronco sold so well it sold out at on point. The opportunity, market and customer base is there
@@0554joe Agreed and very well put. There is a market specifically for Toyota people and they will charge at the chance to buy it. I think its good to be honest because if it comes in at a lower price point and has equal or close to equal amenities as the Jeep, they will be forced to re-think their absurd pricing
I think Toyota is not positioning LC in the same segment as these two, looking at the ground clearance figure. It is more of an over landing alternative to Lexus GX. Next 4runner with the same engine might be the Bronco /wrangler rival.
You bring up good points. I think there is a a market for overlanding more so than extreme off-roading. Jeep has tried to do both and offer both with the Wrangler. However, the interior (albeit nice for a Wrangler) is far from luxurious for a vehicle that in some cases is 70,000 dollars. @@rajeshbhattacharjee2989
one thing i think you missed to talk about it in the bronco section, is the A pillar still blocks your side passenger mirror?? i think yes, and also bronco side mirrors re so high up that you cant see stuff near your back end very well! might be wrong but i would prefer a V8 4x4 over any V6 with eco boost on it! also im a fan of gladiators and cant wait for 24 model to be on sale!
I own a 4dr bronco and the A pillar does not block anything. I see fine. I’m 6,4” and partner is 5’. Neither of us find any issues with mirror. Fake news, sorry.
@@scottsdale4899 which model year you have?? because i test drove it and saw the issue my self plus theres videos on youtube you can check it out to see my point! so not fake news! and im 6,2"
@@bordfronco at least you wont service turbos and pay loads of money for it!! and also you get the power whenever you hit the pedal not when the turbo spooled then hit you with power, hoping you get my point of view here, ty
The winner is everyone, Jeep needed competition, they just went stale for a while. Jeep will keep Bronco on their toes now. Most times when we are overlanding we have Jeeps, Broncos, Trucks, whatever you want you get.. Now I have a Bronco, but I want a Gladiator as well, I really like the back setups of them but My bronco is going nowhere I love it. I doubt most jeep owners will buy the winch option offered by jeep because like most stock bumpers they need to go, and we can get cheaper aftermarket. Jeeps screen is nice its larger I just wish is was more square like Broncos its better for cameras and Maps.
To be fair, at this price point, both of these vehicles should be very nice. It is quite a sight to see people out bashing these high price toys in the wilds. Repairs for 2024 complex vehicles like this is quite steep. Very much a rich playground.....
Jeep Wrangler would sell twice the number of vehicles if they also offered an Independent Front Suspension. They could use a modified RAM front suspension and give it a much better handling on-road driving experience. Not everybody goes hard-core off-roading especially my friend's wife who would never take her Wrangler someplace dirty.
Ive heard the new Wranglers ride great compared to the older ones. I have a 2017 JKU Sport. Id say the ride is one step below horseback but still love it.
I am a jeep rubicon owner and lover, but man those broncos look cool. I just wish it wasn't so obvious that Ford took so much inspiration from jeep in making the new bronco. In the end of the day competition is good for both parties!
Having had 3 Wranglers (TJ and two JLs), and now my Bronco heritage I would have to choose my Bronco. I completely agree with this review. I prefer the seats and interior in the Bronco way over the Jeeps. Of the Jeeps, my favorite was my stripped-down JL Sport 2 door with the V6. I absolutely, hated the JL Rubicon 4 door with the turbo 4. I could not wait to trade in the vehicle and be done with that turd. Always regretted getting rid of my JL Sport, after jumping into the Rubicon. Guess that I liked the simplicity of it. Ford won me over with the Bronco, great vehicle.
I’m glad to see the bronco make a comeback. That said, you’re not comparing apples to apples. If I want everyday comfort driving, sure bronco no question. If I want the most capable off road vehicle, wrangler, especially with the 4xe models. The low end torque on the 4xe Rubicon is insane. I could crawl stuff in 4h in my Rubicon, that a bronco would have to lock up and go 4L on to even move. Both great cars, they just have different uses.
I have a 22 Wrangler High Tide and have been thinking of getting a ‘24 Willys with Extreme package, but also have a factory order in for a Bronco Heritage (NOT Limited) that is going to production as soon as the strikes end. Which should I get? The ‘24 Wrangler Willys with Extreme package or Bronco Heritage??
@@striperking6083 Just look at Consumer Reports for the last 30 years - Jeep and this recent Bronco are not dependable and are shop time waiting to happen - and you don't wait long between trips there.
I’m a jeep owner and I love my Jeep one of the main reasons was I had a large engine selection . The other thing as the bronco is still very new and has quite a few design issues. It’s gonna take a few years or more for them to get everything ironed out. The jeep has been around since 1941 and is it an extremely well-built vehicle not to mention all jeeps have been made in the same factory since the beginning. Lots of history and Heritage when you’re on a jeep. Jeep owners wave to each other when passing, there’s a reason for that and it’s because they love their jeeps. Do you Bronco people wave at each other?
The Jeep’s top articulation is what made the choice for me. Full open air in the Jeep with no tools. Not true on the Bronco by a long shot. If you want the top down watch some videos about the roofs.
I am not rich, and these vehicles are very expensive, which is why I bought back in 2020 a brand-new Jeep Wrangler Willys. The Willys is perfect for going off-road and driving on the road.
