Once upon a displacement, 250 cubic centimeters was the unofficial beginner bike size of Japanese OEMs. Kawasaki upset that apple cart with the introduction of the Ninja 300 in 2013. Two years later, Honda and Yamaha responded with the CBR300R and YZF-R3, respectively. In 2018, the Ninja 400 retired the Ninja 300, and Kawasaki has since expanded its 400cc offerings to include the Z400 and ZX-4RR. Enter now the 451cc Eliminator.

Deciding between this and the Rebel. I like the looks, performance, and extras of the Eliminator, but I like the fact that the Rebel has been around for ages and has proven bullet proof reliability.
@tres311

Id buy a Kawasaki simply because they make cool bikes that no one else makes. Honda suffers from the mentality of Toyota 1997-2011. Let’s make reliable, boring, very reliable quality, but very very boring safe and boring cars. Honda has taken this model to both their cars and bikes, and they need a philosophy and cultural shift like Toyota took sometime in the last 10 years, and rewarding Honda with your $ won’t let them see how making an automatic ADV is something no one wants

I ended up having this because rebel feels small after sitting on these hehe.. rebel is also lower st height. I'm 5'10 btw, for someone smaller, rebel will fit in just fine. I just don like the eliminator looks shorter at the end , while the rebel feels short in the front..

To be fair the Eliminator name has been around for a long time, and just like the older Rebel 250 is a completely different bike compared to their modern counterparts.

@@c0dy1287 Yes, the name being around and a reliable build being around are completely different. I actually owned a Kawasaki Eliminator from ~88-93. It was better looking than the Honda then, and it is again with this new iteration.

The Eliminator looks like a great bike to make into a cafe racer. It’s close as it sits, just needs some Clip-Ons or club bars. Great job Kawasaki!

It's pretty damn ugly man. The exposed frame does not lend itself to a cafe build. The weird half tank and massive radiator are also big time stylistic flaws. Just grab a royal enfield 650 and use that. Or an old Honda. There's so many options for cafe builds, I would never buy this bike.
@OneYearAgoT0day
@OneYearAgoT0day 11 месяцев назад
Also I guarantee when you pull off that seat and rear fender you're gonna have a heck of a time fiberglassing a cafe seat. Building a cafe isn't just about throwing on some $39 eBay clip ons.
@salskars6637

I love the exposed trellis frame and the low and wide aesthetic but it's too far removed for a horizontal cafe racer base. Check out pics of just the trellis frame (not to mention the fork rake). I want one. Plus it's a ride-all-day ergo-design.

This has a ninja design engine. It is a high rpm bike like the versys 300X? Which gets really tiring running at high rpms all day.

Choices are good. I’d take this over the Rebel. Intriguing the mash up. Cruiser’ish bike with a sport bike’ish motor in a neutral riding position. Cheap price and good looks are just bonuses.

Not sure why this exists when the Vulcan S is already a thing. They could have just given the Vulcan S a facelift and a technology update and it'd be goated.

Forward controls versus mid. Sitting on the two bikes. They feel completely different. I know they call this a cruiser bike but it's more traditional as far as the seating position, seat height and ergonomics go

Seated on both bikes and the position is way different than the other, and also the weight has a huge difference which will affect manueverability

Vulcan is much heavier weighs a 108 lbs more, this gives Kawasaki a light weight bike that will appeal more to smaller riders.

I'm a skinny 6'4" any thoughts on how cramped I'd be? I've been looking at getting a Vulcan 650 S, but I big part of what I love about being on two wheels is the lower entrance and running costs, so was thinking the smaller bike might still work.

6'2 here check out Pete's video of the eliminator vs the vulcan, he does a size comparison. I like the eliminator seating position more but 451 isn't very much...I'm 227lbs. Looking at Indian scramblers now
