Yes, a lot of money for a 100 horsepower bike, a work colleague of mine paid $35,000 for a 2023 KTM 1290 adventurer and then spent another $4,000 on extra's. The money is irrelevant.
@bradrook3919 Brad, every rider has a different $$$ threshold. For example, Harley's are big bucks in Australia $65,000 for a CVO Roadglide AND some riders pay it👍
I’d like the front brake reservoir tucked in and finished better. Rear shock adjustment tucked in better. Better hidden pre muffler box. Should come stock with radiator guard. I’d like more crome fittings but overall nice. I’m buying one.😊
I bought a 2023 Z900RS SE in the summer. They haven't changed it at all. The only differences I know are in North America, we received the lower seat with less padding, and we also got bulb turn signals. Maybe they were trying to save money. First, I removed the saddle and replaced it with a Corbin Gunfighter saddle. I haven't done anything with the turn signals, but I put on a radiator guard and satin black grab handles for using a centre stand which the dealer also put on. The rad guard and grab handles were from Amazon. People talk about a twitchy throttle when you back off, but I only notice it in first gear, so I upshift fairly quickly. Another difference is the UK and maybe other countries have a security feature on the ignition lock. We just have a plain lock here.
I got mine yesterday! Same color, same spec 2024. I'm looking forward to riding it when it gets warm. I live in the U.S., and I think I'm one of the first ones to get one.
No worries mate a fine review and convinced me to buy one. Can’t wait to put her through her paces and I’ll give report of my impressions. I might incorporate a few cosmetic tweaks but nothing right out of the gate.
I have the '22 model. I like it for a good street bike that is sensible and plenty fast enough, with great suspension and brakes. Personally I would have preferred the root beer colour but the SE - package tipped the scales for me - performance is more important than colour. You can also get heated grips from Kawasaki as an accessory - Nice to have here in Canada. Good luck with the bike , enjoy and keep the rubber side down.
The throttle goes away as you learn the throttle response. Also sloppy chain causes it to be worse. I put the Z900 single wall equal length header . I got same decibels but the 15 hp extra the plain Zee has. Major improvement. The double wall chrome pipes are TINY inside w no cross over pipes and short collector. The mini fender does spray the radiator w gravel and tarnished the chrome pipes too. A shield isn't a gimic. Bugs clog radiator fins too . Dummy.
Just got mine 2 weeks ago, buying it used with only 500kms on the clock. The previous owner had mounted a radiator guard, sliders, carbon copy mudguard and hugger, and I'm slowly getting rid of the Chinese tat that was put on by replacing the sliders with R &G as well as engine case covers and stainless bar ends. The bike is a beauty, the engine is gorgeous, and it handles beautifully. It now has 2000 kms on the clock
Nice bike and hope u can tell us more about it with videos on the move and, for Heaven's sake, at the least. you could have let us hear the engine and the exhaust note. 🤣
Beautiful bike and perfect color. I personally think the radiator guard is a gimmick. If that is something really necessary I am pretty sure they wud be on from factory. For the price it lacks heated grips, cruise control etc.
Lovely bike, just been looking at them online. Might possibly sell one of my GSXR 1000’s and buy the RS SE. Either one of those or a GSX-S 1000, or maybe a KTM 1290 Super Duke R. KTM are giving 4 years warranty and have slashed £3000 off the price. I love all 3 bikes, so I need to test ride them to decide. I already know the KTM is going to be more fun when you’re in hooligan mode.
The KTM is a big discount, I own a Suzuki S-1000 and I think the Kawasaki z900rs se corners better and brakes better but Suzuki has the top end grunt. Tough decision's 🙄
