a very impressive knowledgeable man...nice guy too,,,,but i remember reading a book about sports betting and when it came to picking a winner the author wrote..."it pays to be drunk"....and i have never seen the person capable of consistently picking winners in horse races...

I wonder why these master pontificators like Francesa and Thomas haven't been able to make millions from their self acclaimed genius abilities? Could it be that they really don't have a clue as to how to really analyze past performances properly, with regard how it equates to an upcoming race? You didn't need to be a genius to realize that when the 2nd Place finisher in The Bluegrass took advantage of being close to the moderate pace, Sierra Madre came from far off the pace to win easily at 1-1/8 miles, and would be a monster to deal with at 1-1/4 miles if you apply sensible logic.
