Thanks for the review! The VIP seats can't be removed if I recall correctly so that reduces the vehicle's flexibility if you like having maximum cargo / passenger seating options.

I've been looking for just an LX without the seat package because having the 2 captain's chairs is more comfortable in my opinion, if you get that center 2nd row seat you lose the armrests on the outboard seats. So the LX is perfect for me. I love analog gauges, I'm not a fan of the digital stuff, I'm mid 40s and grew up driving everything in analog gauges. I'm just waiting for December to make an offer on one. Dealers are usually more likely to make a deal in a December than any other month.

How does the Carnival even compete with Sienna with the lack of Hybrid and AWD options? Honda Odyssey suffers the same disadvantages but at least it comes with a Honda badge which is important for some customer.

More value and better warranty I would say. Having said that I'd probably be picking the Sienna for my family if I were to get a van just because of the AWD and hybrid availability.

Since I live in a warm climate, AWD isn't a high priority for me, but I wish the Carnival or Odyssey had stow and go seating. I need room for a walker or wheelchair and large dog crate in the back and like my groceries in the middle row so want that seat area as cargo space. I would love the flexibility of seating for passengers without wrangling heavy seats in and out when I have visitors plus I hate sacrificing the space in my garage for the seats.
