Some smart changes for ‘24, but LTV needs to offer more options to the customers, rather than going backwards and forcing the purchase of items that many customers aren’t interested, lithium batteries in particular.

Because of the problems with the Ford chassis and alignment issues we were only considering a Unity. Seems like lots of negatives and almost no positives for a significantly higher price. I guess I need to look for a 2020 to 2023 model. I'm starting to think a Winnebago View/Navion may be a good alternative.

The new 2.0 twin turbo engine has no turbo lag (nothing to do with transmission, rather a staged turbo design). Biggest reason to get the 2.0 is diesel fuel. It supports b20 diesel. Unlike the outgoing 3.0 diesel which forbids bio and if you must - change the oil much more quickly and fuel filter 10k or less.

They are two totally different things. The Grech is a class B, so significantly smaller with a wet bath. The LTV is a class c and much larger, especially those with slides. At LTV prices that would likely mean $$6-7k for a single battery. Nice to see higher capacity. Hopefully one day at a lower $/AH. It looks promising and hopefully LTV offers that capacity but at a lower cost per AH. That would take some of the sting out of it.

An alternate thought on the anticipated price increase, there may be another scenario that would not be as adverse. Price increase coming is the easy guestimate projection, but look at the industry. As you begin to see softness in pricing, other manufacturers are significantly discounting, albiet from a higher MSRP, but the percentages approaching the 30+% range. LTV historically has been loath to discount, which together with their production schedule control limiting supply is actually a good thing. Discounts throw existing customers under the bus (or RV???) as it impacts used sales. hith the weakness in the market overall, it may provide an opportunity to increase value and have little, or moderate adjustment in MSRP and still have a level of profitability. Will be interesting to see what is finally published as they roll into the 2024's.

Just saw a 2023 Newmar Dutchstar MSRP 599k on for $299k. And one person stated that they thought they were providing dealers with rebates. Not something heard of for a very long time. Yes, LTV not overbuilding and keeping demand higher than supply is fortunate for resale but not so much new buyers like myself. At least if I join the family I can benefit from such a strategy. The only grip I really have is having to pay so much for the force lithium only to have to replace it all for the capacity I desire. In the big picture a rounding error to the overall price but a bad task in ones mouth.

Actaully RV tech (which I assume you are talking about the electric system), should always be aftermarket to get the best and save the most. Anytime you purchase an RV with an amazing off grid system, you are paying 2-4 times more than that system is worth. Manufacturers mark up considerably what retail is. People don't pay the premium on LTVs or Airstreams for "tech", they are purchasing a brand that holds value the best as well as has great community. I am very biased through experience. @@Pagosa I am with you. A massive disappointment. I like so many others would like 300+ AH of lithium batteries as well a 3kW inverter. To pay such an outrageous price for only 200AH is frustrating. As you state, it's not that Dragonflys are bad batteries but they are low AH and high cost per AH. As well, they have a manual heater which for me up in Canada is awful seeing that I RV in cold temps in the mountains. I would prefer an intelligent and automatic BMS managing the heater and not a manual switch. We were close to putting in an order for what would end up being a 2024 but throwing away $4100 for 200AH of Dragonfly batteries irks me enough to hold off for now. As you state, in the overall picture not a big hit but I could spend that money on a 3k inverter and more and would prefer to do so. Too many TVs! Humanity is going downhill ( although I believe a recovery is in our future) from too many kids and teens into their phones and computers. What happened to getting in touch with nature and with one’s inner voice? Peaceful moments. I have not had a TV for 15 years! Yes, I use my ipad for communication and alternative news and for info, but no TV shows or fake news. I think it is very sad that RVs or LTV , for those going on a “ vacation” find it necessary to fill up time with the TV. So very sad, when people are not in touch with themselves and aware and balanced. I would MUCH rather see a culture of self- realized individuals.

They are there if you want them. If not, keep them off 😃

I never thought Id use my TV. I was a hardcore tent camper. Turns out, I love it. Relazing can take many forms. And after a long day of hiking and biking, a movie sounds pretty nice.

@@hrustar Understood, to each his own. I hope you understand that TV programming has invaded our society and psyche in a negative way. Most people are unbalanced, in general due to so many factors in life. And younger adults and children are having their minds taking over by too much technology interaction. We need balance and to stay connected to nature, and our own spirit and other humans at times.

uh, no. Humanity is not going downhill. Americans in America are downhill, fast approaching bottom. If you were to venture for a few years outside your ignorant, self-anointed exceptionals, you may come to see this for and by yourself. Your point to TV is valid; TV is designed to render people controlled and slightly above moron. The moniker, drugged up and dumbed down, applies aptly to Americans as a whole. Kudos to you for rejecting TV - a ray of hope.
