If doing a side by side build would be best to know the options that they each have Eg Atlas does have the Wineguard And the macerator Etc Need to be apples to apples ….
I think I did this video during Covid when there wasn’t a lot to do. Was just going over the website. I have a more in depth video about the Atlas on the channel from the Florida RV show if your interested
Next week I’m doing a full clean/inspect/maintenance on our LTV. This video couldn’t come at a better time for me. I’ll definitely be checking out the air gear store site. Thanks to you both for the education. On the subject of AC filters, I’ve been using a standard home filter. I cut it from the cardboard frame then cut rectangle sections to fit the intake vent. Does this put too much strain on an RV AC? What I mean is because it is denser than a spongy one does it make the AC struggle to intake the air to the point I may be damaging it?
I've been following you for quite some time and love your videos! Just wondering, though, do you prefer your airstream over your leisure travel van which you used to have? Which do you prefer? I know they are different, but I'd love to hear your Feedback.
I love both, but so different. At this point the Airstream is making sense with our longer stays (so much more room) and 3 dogs. However I really miss the nimbleness of the LTV. We will eventually get another LTV. Airstreams and LTVs are both fantastic builds and turn heads wherever you go
I had to stop watching midway because clearly your post is so biased it was nauseating. Could you please try and consider next time when comparing? I wonder how many times you said “is that worth $100k?” by the end the post. Midway, there were so many reasons to pay the premium, I’m certain my choice was made. I’m going for the Atlas.
Maybe for you but the reasons you poo pooed the Atlas were bonuses for some of us and the bonuses for the Leisure were not selling me. I have been wanting a Leisure for a long time and the only bonus I could find would be storage or MAYBE, choosing the TB model but I like the 4500 standard, the power awning, the power step, the metal, the standard colors, the look, the quality upgrades, and more. Resale is proving the Atlas is the way to go as well. I don’t care for all of the exterior colors or any of the nonsense that seem to be bonuses for you. To each his own. Not worth the wait and losing money off the lot.
@@NicholeLeigh I recently sold my Leisure for more than I paid for it new 3 years ago. In all seriousness, the Atlas is a fine RV, however since this video was made, the Atlas has gone up another 100K, going over 340,000. Not sure what they discount, but AS usually does not discount more than 10%. LTV can see up to 7% discount. I only have my Airstream Globetrotter now, which I love and I'm not a hater of the brand, just high prices.
We love our e-bikes but I’m interested in a lighter model, something that can be used even without the motor and this looks like a nice option to consider. Really great review, thanks for sharing.
Had a flat tire on TX 118 about 30 miles North of Terlingua, TX, 50 miles South of Alpine. If you know the area there’s absolutely nothing out there and we had no cell service. Unhooked the Jeep Wrangler (2 door, automatic and we removed the backseat) and drove back to Terlingua to call roadside service. Game changer and life saver to tow if you ask me.
@@Hi-how-are-you-today. If you are looking at towing it behind an RV, the two aren't comparable, as our Subaru can't be towed. But the Mav Hybrid drives good, interior quality not near as good as Subaru, but Subaru, even with the 2.5L is a snail. Mav more power, Subaru better built and better tech. If you want to tow a Subaru Crosstrek, has to be a manual transmission. Maverick has to be a Hybrid. Hope that helps.
My wife and I are exploring an LTV as a possibility as we move closer to retirement. Can the LTV, either the Wonder or Unity, flat tow a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited? I see them all the time behind larger motor homes but was not sure if a Jeep was too heavy. Any thoughts or insight in this?
I’ve got some videos about towing that discusses the weights. The Unity will have about a 4000 pound max you can tow, which prob is a two door stripped down jeep.
@@Pagosa Thanks, Brandon. That is pretty much what I was thinking as well. When you see the Jeep Wrangler’s being flat towed, it is always behind a larger class A or larger class C motorhome. I appreciate your insight.
I have a 22 25RW and I just checked the OCCC was 1070. Why would the range of weights be so different? I did have factory installed lithium batteries. extra solar panel and Dish Satellite
I know lot's of folks who ship their LTV over to Europe for the summer, so other than it being larger than most European RVs, and it being 110V electric, I think you would have no problem
i can only image how may nights at a 5 star on the ocean we can get for the cost of these rigs. i’m thinkin quite a few. no clean up and ritas by the pool. 😉
Brandon, it was good to see you again. I downloaded the video and listened to it like a podcast. I paused when Lori talked about MAGA pots? Huh! Then I saw the helpful links to Magma pots. The links are quite helpful. I've added Magma pots to my Amazon Saved List. Great insight from Lori!
The Unity is superb: truly impressive. I have been inside one. However, the 6'5" interior ceiling height is a deal breaker for me at 6'4". I would think it would be rather confining for anyone who is over 6'1" in height. At this price point, you want to feel like the space is cavernous and not a crawl space. That 6'5" interior ceiling height seems like an odd decision by LTV since other brands use the same Mercedes chassis, and they offer a 6'8" interior height. I guess sales are good enough not to warrant the pursuit of a taller client base.
They actually don't use the Sprinter chassis that has a height like a van. Their house is their own build on a cutaway chassis, meaning they buy the cab and and empty chassis. Not sure why the height limit. I can say at 6'2" it feels roomy enough for me, but at 6'4" it could def be something to think about. Not sure what height other brands have.
Wow... that was so informative. As a fellow Canadian and someone is looking to acquire an LTV in the next 18-20 months and do what Lori is doing..... this could not have been more helpful and timely!
Good to see that you're still out there blowing & going!!! Spending Mother's Day weekend in Houston, then up to Davy Crockett Natl. Forrest & Texas State Railroad before heading home to SATX. Hi Lori!!! Happy Mother's Day!
@@Pagosa Enjoying having Davy Crockett Natl. Forrest almost to ourselves. They had torrential rains the week before we arrived and you could see the results of rushing water through some areas. Nine AM on 5/15/24 and we're the only RV in sight. Still only 75*F here under 150' pine trees. It got down to 61*F overnight.
I can't wait to get my LTV as a future 63 y/o solo traveler female, I look forward to meeting great people like yourself. I'm learning so much from you guys.
The Leisure uses the 3500 chassis that has 7500 pounds towing. 4200 is the actual number after house is added to not exceed GCVWR of 15000. It could tow 7500 if you left it as an empty cab and chassis. There are multiple versions of the Sprinter that have different tow capacities, so you are thinking of the lowest capacity Sprintet. The Transit LTV now uses has a 6000 pound tow capacity before house is added.
HI Brandon, I purchased a WONDER FTB last summer and I love it. I was fortunate enough to get an older model which still had the available diesel engine. It gets great fuel mileage but the cockpit is smaller, regretably as my rv'ing partner is a bit squished in the passenger seat. Only a whisper more room on the drivers side. I have also owned the UNITY FX (2018) and so can make a true comparison. much roomier cockpit for both passenger and drivers sides in the UNITY. We only kept the UNITY for about 6 months. My partner just couldn't transition mentally down to the 24 ft size (We are diesel pusher people 37 ft. and up) So we only had a 2 day trip together (during covid) and I went solo for about 5 days. I liked it, but admittedly, pulling the bed down every night gets mundane very fast, easy as it may be, I still found it annoying. After 3 days, I just slept on the seats where you eat, but I left it as a daybed. It was surprisingly comfortable enough and wide enough that I slept ok. Anyway, I am happy with my front twin bed, I love the versatility and that it is ready as soon as I walk through the coach door. It has the biggest shower of all the units that LTV makes. I was very sad to learn they have discontinued that floorplan. When I spoke to Dean about it , he said it was a European floorplan and it just didn't take off here in NA. Thanks, love your vids.
Great interview until the very end, why did Doug have to say, "happy wife, happy life", to admit he's a weak beta simp, who's been demasculated by his wife & now he is her feminine servant. I hope he's ok hooking up his Maverick alone, his dress and panties don't get tangled up
Hey! First off, your videos have been amazing for us and have helped us decide on an LTV over all the rest. Now, we have our new to us Unity 24RL. We want to be able to run the AC for our pooch for a couple of hours when we are out and about similar to your lifestyle. Right now we have two 100 AH Lithium batteries and a 2000-watt inverter. Can we just get (for now) the 315 AH battery and keep the 2000-watt inverter then upgrade that at a later date, or is the 3000-watt inverter a must with the higher capacity battery? We have on order a smart start regulator for the AC and want to make sure we are doing what needs to be done for everything we want to do. Thanks for all the videos and keep up the great work!
Hello and congrats on the new Unity! Unfortunatly you really need that 3000W inverter to do the job of running the AC. The 2000 would do it for short amounts of time, but especially since it's for your dogs, you don't want it going into error code while you are away. It's a super simple swap of the inverter, so I would 100% do the inverter if you plan on that goal of AC on battery. If you want to chat about our installation services here in Dallas, we can certainly help. If you think you might want to do this upgrade, check this out: pagosasupply.co/install
You have to upgrade the inverter , wiring and fuse when you increase the circulating power/ power going to/ thru the inverter. So, in other words, all at once..
@@Pagosa we thought as much. It is definitely something we are going to do in the future. We got our Soft Start for the AC and I am hoping the installation is as easy as you say! ;-D
What a GREAT interview, thank you for that! I wanted to get some clarification on something. Is my understanding correct that Rich was not a fan of the TST Flow Thru Sensor and favors the Cap Sensor, but there is also a third option, Internal Sensor, which is the bands that go around the rim. Any idea of he has the same opinion on that as the Flow Thru Sensor?
