Been driving my 2023 ES350 since April. I have the premium version. Seats are extremely comfortable. At first I thought that the no fold rear seats was going to be an issue, but honestly how often do we fold them down. Base stereo is made by Pioneer. No issue there too. Front tires do spin. But again how often would you floor an ES? If like me you don’t want an SUV, this is perfect for a family of 4 for comfort and room.

I've had the F Sport version since June. It has been a pleasure to own. Extremely comfortable car to drive. The sound system and cabin are excellent, whisper-quiet, and the cargo space is great. For some reason, the rear seats aren't heated or ventilated. The only Lexus sedan that has it is the LS. The SUVS all seem to have it at a certain level.

Some quick searching suggests it does not have an oil cooler, but it doesn't generally need one either. You can search old Toyota Tacoma truck forums for an aftermarket oil coller installation some enthusiasts have done because they were hopping up their truck engines with aftermarket turbochargers. But the stock engine, known as 2RG-FKS, is outstandingly durable just as it is.

OCD in me doesn't like the dash slant / display slant nor the driving mode selector sticking out like that, especially that the front dash layout [e.g. vents] is asymmetrical. I have a 22 Honda Pilot touring at the moment and looking to possibly trade it in for a Lexus sedan while the V6 NA is still available, but as extremely well built and reliable as the sedan is, I just couldn't deal with looking at the dash area for years....at least there's NO piano black to drive you crazy with hairline scratches. Steering wheel looks awesome, you can kinda feel it's heft and sturdiness through the video. Great review, thanks!

Don’t know if you poked around more Lexus reviews but the ES 250 comes with a 4 cylinder. It also has AWD. Trying to find owner reviews but video reviews, like this one, say that it’s an overpriced Toyota Camry. The motor is reported as underpowered and, in the video reviews that I’ve seen, loud. You can hear it working in the test drives. A Toyota sales manager in my town said Lexus makes the 4 cylinder turbo for the new Tacomas. Why they don’t put a turbo on the 250 is beyond me. Maybe in the near future they will.

Good Review. However i always found the F-Sport to be a waste. This car is a luxury car and no matter what you do you can never make it handle even with the F-Sport. It's still bad, but its not designed for that so why ruin the ride which is one of the main reasons you buy this car in the first place.

NEW YORK, Sept 8 (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T) reached a settlement potentially worth $150 million to resolve U.S. class-action litigation tied to recalls of about 3.36 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles whose defective fuel pumps could cause engines to stall. A preliminary settlement was filed on Wednesday night in federal court in Brooklyn. It requires a judge's approval. The settlement covers owners and lessees of dozens of Toyota and Lexus vehicle models manufactured in the 2013 to 2020 model years and equipped with Denso low-pressure fuel pumps.

I just don't understand why reviewers spend so much time talking about the performance of a car that One purchases for a comfortable isolated luxurious ride and not for the speed. The only drawback in these new ES is the dashboard material. Once it is scuffed, good luck removing that. I was cleaning my dashboard with microfibre towel and it left a little line. Tried everything on it still can't remove it and it'll stay on the dash forever.

I see you're put this comment on at least 3 different boards. Is it because you're searching for an answer? You can replace the right-side panel; it snaps out easily. Or you can use charcoal-colored dye, which makes subsequent scuffs less visible.

F Sport has stiffer suspension which does not make the car really handle much better. The seats are also different and the exterior and wheels are also different . Exterior has colors specifically for the F sport. It does have a sharper look but the ride ruins the car. There is an "F Sport design" which has the looks without the suspension. U get the best of both worlds with the "design" option. This ES350 in general is a Gem

Engineering Background here coming form my reliable Toyota Camry. What are the advantages of going with F Sport Handling vs the luxury non F sport? I don't mind $49,000 but I might get it a couple of years used so I could get it for $35,000. If I get the Luxury it will be cheaper but it will come with leather seats and wood grain. I would have to put in leather seats and wood grain if I go with the F sport handling. F sport won't make your ES turn into a Maserati or a Porsche. I do like the front and rear stabilizer bar on the F sport handling.

When Lexus first came out they actually advertised it as equivalent to a Rolls. People actually believed that and the first LS500 (I think) was at that level. But no longer. Still good, but not quite. The original cars were built for the luxury older market. They were never designed for the road racers and people to transport 2by4's. Lexus owners had other people deliver the materials. The biggest design criteria/consideration at that time was SILENCE. The early models were "as quiet a a Rolls". But not quite anymore. The seats not folding down is a vestige of that. It remains, like us humans once had tails. Now we don't but the origin is still there. You will know when you fall on your rear end. The seats are like that to keep them "sealed". No cracks for sound reduction. That mutes road noise intrusion into the cabin. As to the F-sport, that is an abomination foisted on Toyota/Lexus by a never ending chorus of motor journalists that insisted on "performance". That resulted in Toyota surrendering to the baying hounds and now we have a non sporty car trying to be sporty. It doesn't work. It defeats the concept and I suggest to stay away from the F-sport thing. It was never meant for Lexus and was added in under duress. And it shows. Like that extra room you add on to your 30 year old house. It works, but does it really? Someone will still buy the house though. My suggestion to Toyota. Give us the normally aspirated V6 with rear wheel drive with a limited slip diff. Build it like you do, and see sales go through the roof. A man can dream eh!
@tonysterbenc
@tonysterbenc 4 месяца назад
I agree with your basic premise that Lexus is not about performance, but some of your facts are not quite correct. First, I have no recollection of Lexus ever promoting the original LS 400 with noise comparisons to Rolls-Royce; I only remember Ford's LTD doing that in the 1960s. Lexus's (unstated) real target was Mercedes-Benz. Second, the reported (and apparently actual) reason for the ES's non-folding rear seat is to reduce NVH, but but not because it's "sealed"; in fact, due to the presence of a ski pass-through, it is not. The reason is because the ES adds a trapezoidal structural brace behind the rear seatback that blocks most of the opening. (This is why the ski pass-through is the size it is, instead of full-sized.) The brace indirectly reduces noise by increasing structural rigidity, but in a different way than you suggest. Third, Lexus did almost exactly as you suggested, building a sporty and powerful luxury sedan with a naturally aspirated V6 and rear wheel drive. It was the GS, and it died ignominiously with U.S. sales 20 times smaller than those of the ES.
@mlo5083
@mlo5083 4 месяца назад
Tomatoes, Tomaytose. How old are you? I was living in South Africa when Lexus was launched. They built brand new SEPARATE dealerships for one car. And said it was the BEST CAR IN THE WORLD. "Whisper quiet" was the word they used, " like a Rolls Royce". And priced it accordingly. Maybe your American experience doesn't always account for everything. I am sure it was different here. Thanks for the rear seat explanation. I'll give you that. I used the word "sealed" in inverted commas. Loosely, so people can understand. You saw that right? The secret here is more or less noise. Not noise and no noise. @@tonysterbenc
@tonysterbenc
@tonysterbenc 4 месяца назад
@@mlo5083 To answer your question, I'm old enough to have clear, adult personal memories of Lexus's launch in 1989. I paid attention to it in great detail, so much so that I clearly recall predicting to a colleague on a business flight that Lexus would cut Mercedes' US sales by half in Year One (they did not, but in Year One they did equal Mercedes' US sales themselves). I also own and have read the book Lexus: The Relentless Pursuit, a history of the brand and its products, as well as numerous other sources between then and now. I don't know how Lexus was advertised in South Africa, and neither of us knows how it was advertised in Belgium, but I do know how it was not advertised in the new brand's principal target market, the US. I never disputed the "best car in the world" part of your claim one way or the other, only a callout by name of Rolls-Royce. As for your quasi-admission about the back seat, you're welcome.
@tonysterbenc
@tonysterbenc 4 месяца назад
@@mlo5083 One impressive part you got right: Yes, they built a whole chain of separate dealerships for the LS's debut as a 1990 model (although, in the US at least, they hastily added a lightly massaged Camry as the ES 250 so those dealers had a more affordable sidekick to sell). There were other notable distinctions about those dealerships, too. For one thing, Toyota took the opportunity of the new brand to hold the dealers to stricter conduct standards than the industry had ever seen, right down to naming the dealerships after their municipality rather than after themselves so they'd be easy to find. For another, Lexus supported those dealers and cars with the industry's first nationwide computerized parts network. I owned a German car at that time and waited a week for my dealer to scour the nation by phone for a $20 part. After Lexus, never again.
