It is interesting to read comments saying that they would like other cars rather than this in the performance bracket but the name of the car is exactly what the car is intended for. It is a Grand Tourer and while it doesn't make an immense amount of sense with considering other offerings if you only compare performance, the Modena and Trofeo are certainly doing what they were designed to do. Also the MC20 is completely unhinged and I found it more adrenaline inducing just as a passenger than I have in other modern full on sports cars, including driving a GT4 full bore around UMC.

Nice sound on this V6, it's almost like a crossplane V8 (maybe because it's a 90 degree V6). The usual 60 degree V6 sounds pretty boring (with some exceptions, Busso V6 quickly comes to mind).

This will never beat the sound of my GranTurismo MC Stradale V8 for life

Had the old 2018 Granturismo MC. Was really disappointed when they dropped the V8. That said they r already being advertised $40k below MSRP. That’s even before getting to the dealership. Thxs for the review, love ur show, now tempted to get some seat time myself 😉

That's basically a Alfa Quadrifolio. Even the steering wheel looks similar similar.

Maserati GT and the Quattroporte V8 is/was my favorite, but noting could compare to the smaller Alfa 8C Competizione

It's cool that Maserati brought this back, and I think they did a really good job with it. Like all Italian cars they nailed the exterior design, and there's something about a red interior on a sports car that I find super satisfying. 230k is pretty insane though, especially since you'll be able to get one for under 40k in 5 years. That V6 does sound pretty good, but nothing compared to the sound of that 4.7L Ferrari V8. The best part of the old GranTurismo was the engine, I don't think that's the case with this new one.

Now 200k plus for this is really realllly pushing it !! Ill take a lot of used vehicles but lets start new . Gimme the - Z06 - blackwing - TTRS - M8Comp - M5Comp - GTR - QV Stelvio and Giulia

The rpm gauge looks pretty much like the one on C8 corvette. It would be awesome if they had put the engine from C8 too! Jokes aside it sounds good even with the V6. Haven't heard it in real life tho but I have definitely heard the old one with the V8 and oh God it sounds like a M.F.! Keep the good work Tedward! I didn't even notice that you are already at 500K subs! Congrats!

It's expensive And it's really sad that the glorious v8 is gone, but I guess it's a lot better than 4 cylinders and hybrids from other manufacturers.

Haha the M2 surely did enjoy this convoy. I like this car. It's sound comes nowhere close to the old V8's one, but it's still really nice for a V6. Way too much piano black plastics and way too less tactile touch points, but on the other hand layout of the interior (except for this 2012 looking ahh center console screen) is fantastic. I found this red tone questionable at first, but came to liking it pretty quickly too. Shame how quick they lose their value and I can't imagine it being a different story for this generation. Thanks for the video nonetheless, your Cali shoots are very fun, as per usual. Maybe I just like the scenery too much. 😁

I think the tall stance is just this car. I have seen other GTs that sit a little lower. I agree that the purity of the car, from the engine/drive train and chassis is an added bonus.

Maybe it's just me, but this does not look like a $250k car to me🤷🏾‍♂ I could get much better for a lot less from a lot of other car brands.

I will say that although the price is very much up for debate -- as seen in the comments -- this car can definitely perform decently well. Styling doesn't look too bad, to me it seems like they tried to retain the previous design but with some modern touches that seem "ok" but the interior is definitely an improvement over the last GT. Also is it me or do the speakers tune the engine sound to be more akin to the S58/B58? Kinda getting that sensation based on this video. all-in-all great video Tedward! Seems like a fun car to drive.

That wheel gap did jump out at me. I was expecting some kind of electronic drop setup or something.

Big discounts on new here in the UK. I'd rather have one than the run of the mill. I think you'd need other cars in your garage for comfort though. A Cullinan, or a Flying Spur

I fell in love with the previous version of this car because, as flawed (and outdated) as it was, it had character. While I'm sad to see the V8 gone, I'm happy with the direction Maserati has gone with this new GranTurismo.

Ted-you are right about the interior. What a wonderful place to be. Overall, I liked the earlier version a lot, have thought about trading my Vette for one, but the Ferrari engine excites/scares me. If something big goes wrong…. 💣. With the new one, I think, used I could afford one. Until that massive ipad goes bad out of warranty, and the car is a brick. 😅. Love your videos.❤

my friends online friend from NYC came to a lake party in canada. the whole time he didn't want to leave the cottage because he didnt want to get his phone wet, he complained the were no buildings and no reason to be outside and always talking about nyc pizza. we claimed we were going back to work and the trip was over to get rid of him. the last day up he finally came out on the boat, had his first drink and wandered away on a floatation device by himself..a random, beautifil blonde country girl kayaked up from her family's cottage and hit on him. when we left he was texting how much he wanted to be at the cottage and how nyc sucks and was begging to come back. my friend ignored him asking to come next year and he became super rude and insulting everyone and canada. it was nice.

Which isn’t a bad thing at all, just funny because you can say the classic Clarkson line “they claim it has nothing to do with the Ferrari v8, weirdly that it has the same bore, stroke, and v angle. Their adamant that this is (Maseratis) own invention” 😂😂😂

Worth it at $200k +? I dont think it is special enough at that price. Of course, this is before depreciation and all the inevitable reliability issues that will occur. Hopefully, the redesigned v6 wont blow up at 70k miles like the one Hoovie just bought... 🙄

WTF - i WOULD RATHER HAVE A CORVET FOR A THIRD OF THE PRICE.... OR A VET & BMW & A NICE SUV FOR THE PRICE OF "ONE" G. TORISMO. IN OTHER WORDS - IT SUCKS FOR THAT KIND OF CASH.

Невероятной красоты дизайн, салон - песня, классные дисплеи ( хотя обычно у таких авто они так себе). Насчет колес согласен, мелковаты. Вот бы побольше профиль для заполненности арки.
