2024 MAX Show for Militaria Collectors held in York, Pennsylvania

The Ohio Valley Military Society hosted the MAX Show in York, Pennsylvania, on the weekend of September 19 to 22, 2024. The hobby is once again witnessing record prices on high demand items.
There are interviews of several Legends of the Hobby: Jack Hatter (CPT USAF Ret) formerly of Volume Control, Inc, Dennis Keesee of New Albany-Plain Township Historical Society, OH, and the Father and Son team of Regimental Depot.
And a big thanks goes out to Tom Wittmann who had created the Max Show in 1985 with the late Tom Johnson (LTC US Army) .

The items from the former Third Reich seen at the show are only presented as legitimate war souvenirs which are all museum artifacts, to be preserved for historical study purposes only. This was a non-political event, and any and all military organizations referenced are purely for identification purposes only. No ideology or military tactic was being espoused or supported at the show to include America's actions in any conflicts which may be deemed controversial.

Excellent video of the max show 2024 is one of the better videos I've seen showing a lot of different items. Live on the other side of the world, so I will never get there in person.

God bless, my friend. As with all my "walking tour" videos, many are not able to get out and about. So many folks are bed ridden or separated by continents. Glad you are able to get a glimpse into this part of the world

@@TellySavalas-or5hf Full blown retail. Some just seem to pull prices out of the air like TW. You see a lot of the same items year after year. They could use a lesson in Inventory control. They don't realize that the longer the item doesn't sell it's actually costing you money. High turnover means more profit.

@@WabbitWay Prices are the highest I've ever seem since the 90's. It's getting to be a rich mans hobby anymore. I didn't see anyone under 50 from what I could tell. More things are probably sold/traded by the Vendors then the walkins I'll bet.

Thank you! wish it could have been longer, but my mission is to get people out to these shows. Can't just stay home. Physical visits to shows are indispensable to collecting.

Excellent video of what was happening at many of the tables. I did notice that the show didn't have the foot traffic I anticipated seeing. Not sure what day you filmed but it looked like more dealers then walkin customers. I remember in the past even on Saturdays you stood shoulder to shoulder to try to get a look at a table. Some Vendors really pull out all the stops displaying their merchandise. I wonder what percentage they actually sell? It's bet somewhere at about 5% but that is just a guess.

yes, the first day was opened to OVMS members. So the attendance was light. It picked up Friday and Saturday. And needless to say, with the advent of the internet, many collectors have unfortunately became LAZY and CHEAP. General attendance at shows is not like the days of long ago. The internet has basically been a curse on civilization. Slowly we have been detached from each other. There is more to ramble on about this decay in society, but yes, the times, once again, are a'changing

@@JendaNYC I totally agree with your assessment. Although I don't consider myself cheap I've bought 95% more items from the net then I have at shows in the last 5 years. As you said the times are changing. I will be going to the next Meadowlands show however.
