As an ND2 owner base rwd + MT + ST I can’t say anything more positively about this vehicle. I got it for $30k OTD and it’s been the best $ I’ve ever spent on autos in my life. Puts a smile on my face every time I drive her.

@@MeynMotorGroup thanks I couldn’t agree more especially on todays market where so many soulless vehicles have flooded us with prices well into $40k-$60k territory. Miata’s are fancy they don’t have badge prestige nor will they accelerate like an ev. But for pure fun and connection to driving nothing really can beat it for the price.

I started watching when you got the LC 500 and in fact I purchased one too because of your personal videos on it . Cheers!!

So I began to realize that driving reviews are not that beneficial to the buying public as I found a lot of discrepancy in the way cars drove, not just used but with new. I'd get into one car that felt trash then get into another version of the same car and it'd drive just fine. Quality of these new cars is all over the place so I tell people to do a thorough test drive of whatever vehicle they're interested in. I'm humbled by your kind words and massive congrats on the LC. This is a perfect example, one reviewer reached out to me and asked why the LC he got as a test vehicle felt so trash to drive, there was no good qualities about it and felt nothing like the way I described it or the previous experience he had driving LCs. And it was a new car. I'm focusing more on buyer's guides and helping people get the best deals on cars in this ridiculous high interest rate market with over inflated prices. This way if they happen to hate the car, they can dump it and try it again. I'll still do car reviews but just not as often.

@@MeynMotorGroup I appreciate the response I had no idea about that, I understand now, well I love your insights and keep it going my friend. BTW I picked up a 23 MX5 last summer and it’s a great 2nd car to have fun in, they took off 3700 off the msrp and it was a manual grand touring and I got it .9 APR for 36 months through Mazda . Needless to say it was super easy decision and it is super much fun and especially at lows speeds lol. You can redline it in first and second and you’re still only going 60 mph Ha Ha!!

The 2024 mx5 finally sorted out the deadly snap oversteer that made it the biggest widowmaker even more then porsche. Now nd3 is the best sports car ever made.

And...there are a percentage of those who drive F-250's as a daily who like to "elbow" drivers of fun to drive cars. So many people drive "gigantic" vehicles for their actual use/needs its amazing.

Well it is their preference my friend many people love trucks and SUVs as the sales figures show. It gives people a sense of security and safety. I know many wealthy people love their luxury trucks because of excellent resale value as well.

@@MeynMotorGroupThat “sense of security & safety” is sadly limited to the occupants of those humungous vehicles, at the expense of greater danger to pedestrians, cyclists, little kids playing in driveways and, yes, other vehicles, who can’t really safely “see around and over” them. They’re a big factor in our deadlier, more dangerous driving environment here in ‘Murica. 😔

Yea pedestrians are done when coming in contact with really any new car granted they should also learn to look both ways before crossing and not lolly gag when walking across a street after all, a car buyer is buying a car for them, not for pedestrians

I elbow the big pickup trucks by getting around them as quickly as possible. The handling of those Big vehicles makes it easy to out maneuver them. I have a 2016 Club soft top with the Brembo / BBS package that is a blast to drive. On the highway in traffic its easy to lose them leaving them far behind.

The crash test requirements in my country are pretty strict, in fact the Lexus IS failed to meet our side impact tests so it’s no longer available new since about 2021. The Miata is available here so it obviously meets our crash test requirements. Anyway being an open top you can simply jump out before impact 😂 I could get a Miata to compliment my new CX5. The Miata could be for nice Sunday drives in the countryside. Personally even if I had touchscreen while driving I would not use it. I can do what I need in Apple Maps, Apple Music, phone, all using voice commands. Radio does not respond to voice but I have my stations favourited so I can choose any of them on the steering wheel.

I don't ever reach for the screen even when not in motion in my ND2 RF. The Apple Carplay / Android Auto update is worth getting though and that also works with the rotary / XY knob, the steering wheel buttons and shortcut buttons for home / audio / navigation.

I can attest to the automatic being good. I have a 2016 auto GT, and you can just put it in sport mode and take it to the Twisties. I know how to drive stick but I have medical problems which makes it harder so having a good auto is awesome

A vehicle like this wouldn't work for me, but I had a 2004 Mazda 6 in the past that was nice. It didn't have any major issues until it was totalled in an accident.

The Miata is actually the safest of small sports cars. 1 death per 10.000 vehicles on the road. Corvette 61!(HiLD from 2016). They also need vigorous testing for the EU market, so it's safe to say that they are pretty safe. I have been driving Miatas for 20 years now. Unfortunately, I sold my Miata NA in 2016. I could still kick myself. I now drive the once very unpopular NC, from 2007. The one with 181 PS. Not only are they reliable, cheap and stylish. They are so much fun to drive. And if one drives them correctly, they are up there with much more expensive sports cars. I will always have one in the garage.

@@MeynMotorGroup - you’re right but it’s bothersome that they tell you about performance improvements, better lighting, braking, bigger screen after I just bought the 23 model recently. I can’t help wondering if that stuff makes a difference or why did they do it; my car has very low miles. Most likely you’re right, it’s NOT worth spending more money fo a new one? But do a test drive with a focus on these changes I’ll be looking forward to your opinion. Thanks for the comments!

I used to drive an NC as a daily but traded for the new 2023 RF GT. I like it a lot especially in that Red exterior color! However… I fully agree it’s tiny and fragile feeling on the road with so many trucks ad SUV’s. Consequently I purchased a BMW X3 as my daily. It’s my first SUV and I love it! So the Miata is weekend toy. The Porsche Boxster is the ultimate roadster driving experience with a more substantial chassis and more weight which feels safer. I’ve owned one Boxster but traded for a Bullitt Mustang. That was like a boat, so I ended up back in the Miata as my fun ride. In my opinion… A Miata is the best alternative for AFFORDABLE RELIABLE AND ENJOYABLE 😊DRIVING.

I saw a an early review of changes on 2024, and it said it would have heated steering wheel and HUD, is that not true? I owned all 4 generations in 30 yrs, I felt my old ‘90 NA is the least safest it was tiny and lack any sound installation, vibrated at highway speed, each gen improved significantly and still kept the true driving experience. My RF LE is now 7 yrs and still like new with no rattle with 73k miles. RF is my best gen, my 2nd best was the 2gen and 3rd is the NA, the last is the NC, it was too heavy and big and interior quality was with too much cheap looking plastic and started to rattle after a couple years like the NA.

I too had the very first year Miata back in the days. Yes, it does seems dangerous now but, in its time, there weren't many SUVs and most cars were built with same quality except of course, Mercedes were built like tanks back then (especially my 1989 W124).

I'm really torn between the MX-5 and the GR86/BRZ. They're both excellent cars, the most fun you can have under $50k. I'm leaning towards the ND2 because you can put the top down, it has a nicer interior, it's lighter, it has much better mileage (roughly 33 mph vs 25 mph) and it has a better feeling manual transmission. I think all these advantages offsets the BRZ/86's one big advantage which is interior space and cargo. As far as price I'm still seeing some dealerships selling the GT RF for about $35k, which is pretty close to the top spec BRZ/86 at $34k.

Mx5 is great. If you fit. After 45 minutes it’s gets a bit uncomfortable. It’s built for small type people. Seat all the way back. Unable to recline. Recaro seats pinch on the sides. 5’11”. 205 lbs. my tiny Asian wife loves it.

I’d love to hear opinions too. An electric car needs very little maintenance as there are fewer things that can break. How’s Mazda in terms of maintenance? Miata is definitely the prettier car.

@@giaomgia1779 Mazda's are known for their low maintenance. I'm leaning more towards the Mazda as I don't live in a place with a lot well placed charging stations (that and it's a university so lot of young drunk drivers).

I hear you regarding the Chev Camaro LT1. However, its quality, engine reliability, and longevity will be a huge dropoff in comparison to the Mazda MX-5.

Yea Camaro is only good for a cheap lease and dump but sadly there's hardly any LT1s to choose from and that's the only model that leases for $500 a month since the interest rate was only 1.3% rest are over 5%-6%

I have a new Cx 5 2024 you can now go to settings and keep the touch screen always working.Mazda doesn't tell you this so maybe the same can be done with the Miata.Sorry you can't compare the Miata and Camero as the Camero doesn't handle well in the corners its why people buy the Mustang over it and there is no visibility in the Camero and im not sure they even make the Camero anymore.

I've driven every iteration of the Camaro and Mustang and reviewed hundreds of vehicles. Mustangs are some of the worst driving vehicles I've ever experienced aside from the Shelbys. Camaro is perfection out of the box and walks all over the Mustang not even close. But congrats on the CX-5.

Still a good car if a bit dated, still like the fact it comes with a hardtop or soft whichever tickles your fancy, and yeah the BRZ and 86 are pretty cool as well.

Yea you're right this thing has been in production for some time now I suppose Mazda simply doesn't have the budget to update vehicles like other larger makes. This might be the last year for the Miata sad as this was a great vehicle

I love the MX-5, but you just don't realize how small & low-to-the-ground they are until you standing next to one as a 6ft2in guy. Makes my "subcompact crossover" 2022 CX-30 look huge by comparison. 🤣 Still, I really do want one.

Had my 2021 miata mx5 rf since new.The KPC wont make any difference to 99.99% of drivers.Believe me,your confidence and brain will give in miles before the car will.

I have a 2019 ND2 RF and put the Eibach Pro springs on it which reduced the suspension travel by 20mm. They work on the stock Bilstien shocks so it was a nice cheap solution to reduce the body roll by just enough.

Yea honestly with these prices, it's the way to go but an LT1 V8 is not easy to come by and GM dealerships typically suck to work with.

@@MeynMotorGroup- how do you feel about a convertible four cylinder turbo Ecoboost Mustang as the best safest fun top down option? It’s no Miata but still fun. Of course you can get the GT but that’s around $60k. A base four is about $50k. The Miata GT is close to $40k. Nothing cheap these days. Porsche Boxster was $80k with a base four and minimal options.

@@devongee1776 The most Raced Cars in the whole World - Miata ! Its for a reason. Your comment is sounding more like you can't fit in one & never have even driven the car. Plenty of people disrespect the MX-5 & never experience the driving dynamics engineered into this great car. The open top roadster is a completely different driving experience. I love the fact I can work on this car ( oil changes / tire , wheel changes ) & many after market part modifications are easy to do. Added an active exhaust to my 2016 Club & it sounds amazing.
