Congratulations! Did you order yours or pick from dealer inventory? also, (and it's a bit dumb) what did you name it?

I picked it from the dealer and they just got it in. It’s blue with blue interior. My wife’s mini is blue and hers is called Smurfette so I was told mine needed to be Poppa Smurf but I’m just going to call it Poppy.

“Lifted” in other countries also means stolen. So, I irked a bit when I saw the title. It’s not like it’s a 4x4 monster truck w lifts, either. How about simply refer to it as a smart ALL4 (ie it automatically shifts to all-4 when needed and back down to 2, front-wheel drive, to conserve fuel; is my understanding), which is its class. Great review nonetheless. Thanks.

The latest Tiguan is quite a bit larger - perhaps not on paper but side by side it looks a lot bigger. I'm very biased as I own a bunch of MINIs - I'd say though that if you really need a SUV then get the VW if you need a car that has AWD and don't need the additional ground clearance or if you have an Android phone (MINI doesn't support Android Auto till their next generation) The VW would likely be the right choice. If you want fun, quirky and more of that go kart feeling the MINI is fantastic. I'd also throw out that sometimes MINI dealers aren't that prevalent so look at that too - it may not be great to have to drive an hour or more just to get the included maintenance done.

It's on the tight side - if you a 6ft person sitting behind a 6ft person then leg/knee room is going to be a bit of an issue. It's better than the Clubman and much, much better than the 2 door hardtop. There is though LOTS of headroom. I'm only 5'7" so that's never an issue for me but the taller people I've seen review or comment on these always mention it's very, very good.

No. It's a 2024. I just picked mine up. It just got shipped over. Was from the last of the 2024 production line. Mini stopped taking orders at the end of 2023 for the 2024 Countryman. The 2025 is coming to my dealer possibly in March or a bit later. It's totally different from the 2024. This is my 4th Mini. I lease.

....it's a BMW so there's that.... Compared to a Hyundai or Kia yep absolutely more expensive. Even during the pandemic you were able to negotiate (a bit) off of MSRP. And maintenance / repair costs are higher (after the warranty/service plan has expired). Though in this "trim" (the S) this example was pretty well loaded - there were a few things you could have optioned but it had the ICONIC package - that alone is between $5-$8K depending on model. You can still get a Countryman S All4 for in the lower 30's - that's still not "cheap" but more in-line with what people expect a sub-compact SUV/Crossover to cost.
