That's a fair point! There's certainly a hint of Kia EV9 from some angles. Interestingly our guy went and had a chat with Thomas Sycha, the Head of Mini Exterior Design. He said the designers there considered other shapes for the headlights (but refused to reveal what!) and also, the reason the lamps aren't round is that he felt round lamps on such a large car would look cartoonish.
