I've seen comments in past day getting excited over a great shot, running it in all pumped is "unprofessional". "You're a pro, you should hit great shots and take it casually and that's why no one takes disc golf seriously." I think Ricky has it right. You hit those big shots and get pumped up and pump the crowd up. They feed off you and you feed off them. That is true sports. I think people should stop trying to make disc golf as preppy as golf.
Paul might be the GOAT on paper but that intro and hole 8 is why Ricky is the peoples champ. He's not only a top 5 ever player but he gets the fan experience and not only channels it but enables it. Most of the top 10 players walk around with resting bitch face their entire round, Ricky is all energy and we love it
Idk, but Paul really dropped off recent years. The competition is stronger than ever and he cant compete anymore like he used to. Ricky is still competing for top4 in 75% of tournaments.
Don't know why Corey Ellis's shots are "blacked out"? 🤷♂️ What's goin on with Lizotte, Casy White & Paul Krans? They play this course all the time. Not even in top 30? 😓
Jerm should watch Ricky's walk through of the course so he can hear Ricky say that he wants to play his shot out wide to the left on hole one because he did exactly what he wanted for the long position and grabbed the birdie
Talkin bout "hit the stripe, the one place you can't hit, we saw Gannon hit there"? C'mon. These baskets are great. It was a tough break for Goose but he threw it pretty dang hard. Gannon rifled his from 15 feet. With Gannon that's just a consequence of putting as hard as he does. I'm not saying he should change it. Just that you have to expect a certain number of rejected putts at that speed.
The Ezra/Goose practice rounds are becoming must-watch. Hole 4 and 9 tee shots were covered in detail by Gossage. He has a thoughtful approach to each hole.
I feel like mcbeth has a bit of a lead card curse this year. This is the 3rd or 4th tournament where I've seen him have a great 1st round, then have a bad round on lead card. Then have a good round from chase card.
It’s honestly so insane how consistent Ricky and Gannon have played all year. They are in a group all of their own this season, it feels like them vs the rest of the field
He split his index finger on his throwing hand. It's a recurring injury and he generally has that finger taped. Not sure if he dropped out or abstained from the event, but he's not playing regardless.
I don't like how many drop zone's at this place are just big putts, the only thing that saves it is the course is difficult enough to where it's not a huge deal just kinda meh.
Now, jerm is saying Ezra threw an understable disc on hole 2 when he threw a 13-5-0-4 mold. Sounds and looks more like a flex shot with a slightly beat in overstable mold. How is he still a commentator? Can we have Melton back PLEASE!? Jerm seems more interested in his opinion instead of reporting the facts and that shouldn't be the platform for commentating if disc golf is trying to be taken more seriously. In ball golf terms that's the same thing as saying "oh he's got a 9 iron in his hand and going for the hole" when someone is putting on the green with an obvious putter in their hands.
Well your wrong one the point of ezra's green D1. If you acually followed his game you would know that is a very beat in UnderStable disc the number do not reflect that. And the D1 is a 12 5 0 4. But prodigy sucks at flight numbers and the D1 new flies like a destroyer/dd3.
Disc golf commentary be like... "when his putters hott, watch out".... like duh. Lol. Also, yeah the spectators should be vigilant about discs flying at them. But I'd also say the professional d golfers should be better than to shank it into the spectators on multiple holes. Corey was all over the place today.
