I appreciate how focused you are on not wasting and using what you have. I think so often the planning community is so focused on getting the next best thing. So this is so refreshing

Thank you so much! I find it so satisfying to be able to try and use what I have first especially when I’m trying something new. I think it’s mostly because I’m fairly frugal too!

27:07 - Omg I feel you so much - i my brain compartmentalises everything into categories or tangents and I can't have it all in one place or I feel it'll be lost forever!!! I absolutely love this video - thank you for sharing your line up!

Yessss right?! Like when I used to use ring planners and everything was in the same place, I felt like I was struggled to keep up with everything. Having a separate place for everything makes it easier for my brain to remember what I have and what I use it for rather than just a hidden section in my planner that I won’t see unless I seek it out. I’m so honoured you loved the video, thank you so much 🥺

also loved hearing you mention your enneagram type! im a type 4 so i have a line to type 1. totally understand the logical and emotional side warring against each other. deciding on indulging my artist self or pushing for a more efficient system is always a battle

In 2024 I’ll be using 3 books: Hobonichi Cousin for Journaling and Memory Keeping; Hobonichi A5 Day Free as a Reading and Crafting (knitting, crocheting, stitching) Journal; Hobonichi A6 Day Free as a planner/bullet journal/commonplace book. I also write morning pages in my Cousin.

man i totally 100% get the whole analog vs notion thing T___T would also love to see a notion tour one of these days also really love seeing all these planners and what you plan to do with it! so much ideas and i love how consistent you are with it! i love the 2024 summary journal. that's actually such a smart way to do a summary yearly just for the main highlights. might steal that idea actually haha thanks for sharing, i love watching techo kaigis. love how it's your first one and there's already 7!

I just keep my brain happy by writing in BOTH Notion and down on paper now 😅 Would definitely love to do a Notion tour someday soon!! It’s a bit all over the place so will have to tidy it up first haha. Ahhh thank you so much! I’m honoured you think I’m consistent 🥲 I think I’m more determined/stubborn rather than consistent haha. Steal away!! Would love to see how you do it!!

Ooh, my 2024 system (which is also more or less my current system because I wanted to try it out first) -B6 common planner for planning, to dos, tracking, and scribbles -A5 500+ grid book for journalling thoughts -A6 five year for recording what happened every day -B6 grid notebook for work to-dos and time tracking -passport planner to record workouts and fitness stuff. I got the smallest size possible for this one

Ahh such cute sizes! B6 is quickly coming a favourite size of mine. I have also recently added a B6 5 year diary but that is my absolute last journal purchase for next year :) Love your system - so streamlined and functional.

I am currently using a Midori B6 diary for 2023 planning, and have a journal from the drugstore (lol)! Going to use the Hobonichi Weeks and Sterling Ink Common Planner in B6 compact for 2024 planning, and continue with my journal.

You could maybe use the mini calendar in the Midori creative planner as a weather tracker if you like doing that? 💛 since it’s small enough just to draw an icon and write the info maybe? Just a thought 😊

oohh at first I thought that Muji A5 notebook with one week replicated in a spread looks so weird, but it would actually be a great media log !! with a log on one side of which tv/film/album i'm watching or listening to and short thoughts on the other side. might pick me up one of those!

Speaking as someone who is apt to cancel plans and move things around, I'm going to try planning my week with sticky notes and then recording them retrospectively! Seems much more useful to see what I actually did than what I was planning to do. Really love the attitude of using things up. I've watched tons of planner videos and unfortunately that attitude is niche

I use a pilot frixion pen in my main planner for this purpose! My days change around a fair bit so it's been useful to be able to erase things

i was very confused about your reasoning for moving away from rings and into bound notebooks because i always assumed rings is *for* people who are less precious about their books, because you can just rip things out, move them around, put in new pages, etc. bound books are the precious ones because you don't tear pages out without screwing up the binding....

I meant the covers moreso than the paper :) I was always worried about damaging or scratching the planner cover but I don’t really care about notebook covers!
