Tesla makes the best EVs, but other brands may make better cars or cars more to people's taste or use case. When comparing EV elements, Tesla is the benchmark.
@@kaasman78Tesla doesn’t make the best EVs. That title would likely go to Lucid. Tesla does however have the most mature manufacturing process, so they were able to make cars like the 3 and the Y that had mass appeal due to their affordability. Lucid (for example) is objectively better in terms of engineering, range, build quality, charging speed, performance. The idea that Tesla is “the benchmark” at this point is lazy and based on sentiments from 5+ years ago (where it was likely true).
@@jayem8981 Tesla is the benchmark cause of its efficency while having good performance and best thermal management. Lucid is not a product average consumer can buy so not a benchmark. Otherwise you can say a Rimac is the benchmark if it comes to the best EV...
Hi Bjorn. You often bring up how people should read BMW - Deutsch way (BeeEemVee or sth like this. I would like to notice that You should also read Ikea other way - as far as I know IKEA should be read Polish/German way. (I like E, K - like german K, e like in spaghetti, also german way, and A like in bravo). Greetings from Poland
@@gavinmoore8024Also for me nice looks is much more important than super good efficiency. This is even more true for EVs as if you charge at home driving pretty much cost nothing. And if some other car is 20% more efficient is almost like 0 * 20% saving -> in practise nothing. Only reason would be that if you travel long distances -> then range / cost have more meaning. Also P2 is just so excellent to drive that for me it would be hard to jump to anything else.
I can't decide between the Long Range Dual Motor and the LRDM with Performance package, is the difference in driving pleasure really that big? I've driven both and I didn't feel the difference in the drive was that big
Tesla Autopilot activates when there is one line slightly visible, it will stay on and keep driving pretty solid even if there is no lines at all anymore. (Base Autopilot, not enhanced or fsd)
I cannot get my highland Sr above 140Wh/km... Weather has been consistent 5 to 15 degrees and mostly heavy rain. Plenty of 120 motorway driving as well.. (stock tyres and covers)
I don't know why you have to mention Tesla AP always. Activating AP in such conditions is illegal by law and by Teslas terms. Polestar also could easily recognize a street somehow without lane markings but disables it to prevent from doing something stupid.
Lol, range together with charging infrastructure has been the main reasons why the EV market share is still extremely low. So maybe in your little baby world range is nothing but for normal families, why the hell would you pay more for something more inconvenient?! Stop and charge for an hour every 300 km on a long trip is absolutely pathetic.
Perhaps the people complaining aren’t their target audience yet. An aspirational viewer wants the sun moon and the stars while comparing it to the car of their dreams; but when it comes to affording either, are faced with the cruel reality of their finances. We’ve all done it. The best thing is that when opportunity comes, we’ve done our research thanks to our Norwegian vlogger, and can maybe make a better decision, new or used. I did, and it wasn’t one of his top picks either. So thanks to uncle Bjørn, I’m the proud owner of a ‘concrete green’ Volvo.
Different conditions. In the recent test by NAF Polestar 2 and Tesla M3 ended up with practically same range and consumption when driven in convoy even though M3 is 150kg lighter and had 18 inch wheels. Interesting that even though Tesla is much more aerodynamic and lighter it can't beat the Polestar. Its motors must be very inefficient.
@@johnmoe883to be fair, that (NAF test) was the single motor LR PS2 vs the dual motor Model 3. This is the dual motor PS2 so it is expected that the range is a bit lower. I would go with a PS2 dual motor regardless because I like the AWD in the Norwegian winter. Range isn't eveeything!
Slightly less range, far superior build quality. Overall the polestar 2 is a better car than a model 3. The model 3 is a cheaply built piece of shit IMO.
