2024 Proton X50 RC - new updates, but with same prices and RM7k discount from launch! 

In my opinion, the X50 still looks modern enough to survive for years to come. X70 however needed a proper facelift next time.

basically whoever buys the first gen is buying a beta test product and now they come out with a full equipped product + discount. when people say dont buy first gen product, it is exactly this is why.

what about the common issue that x50 always have? have they been fixed? like thier battery life issue, faulty alternator, broken gearbox, snapped timing belt, loose power window etc..

the battery and altenator issue been settle ??? dun make ppl break down beside hignwah or trap in kampung dark road

i updated my atlas auto over the air and it cant even update to the newer version which is 1gb download. After downloading it auto restart 😅

For sure the update is not enough to keep up with competition but 7k discount might be.

Such minor changes should've been introduced since last year. It would make people feel less frustrated about it.

This comes as no surprise, Proton has been selling old tech cars ever since it's inception. Good example is the CamPro engines, essentially taking a 90's engine with no updates or revisions and stuck it to a Persona in 2006. What's worse is, the price close to Japanese competitors WITH taxes even if Proton still the cheapest.

I test drove an X50 Flagship at a dealership this afternoon and I have to say the fittings were terrible 😮 almost everything I touched squeaks including the door handle, the center console handle, the sunroof open/close button. Please note that this was not a brand new X50, it’s one among the first batch of the model but should the interior show so much flaws after just 3 years? Having driven a 2019 Myvi for almost 5 years now - I don’t think so. I’m honestly asking if any X50 owners can confirm the build quality of their car’s interior to be bad over time or my experience is an isolated case or experience.

Still no Android Auto or Apple Carplay.

For a car guy these really doesn’t matter much it’s really about the drive

An upgraded X50 would still be nice in 2024, if only they made upgrades that people actually cared about. Smartphone integration, safety features on all variants etc. Improved NVH is nice, wish it was more significant on the wind noise. Also, whats up with the color selection. "We removed the orange option and replaced it with a big fat load of nothing", come on la, at least add black or just offer orange. Was considering it when the announcement dropped so its extra disappointing.

Any indications when the proper facelift is coming out?

What's the point for big hoo-ha for? It's like blowing own trumpet to say look at me! Kudos to Hafriz for not sugar coating it. Please Paul Tan crew, be neutral if its need to be corrected say it, because it is good for the consumer. Paying for 100k not getting the ADAS? That is daylight robbery, if Proton taking us for granted, lets take our business elsewhere.

Ok lah same price get free upgrade mah, mine still got 3 more years to bayar, after that next gen come out can change already 😂

Gear shift unit on X70 is still better than newer X90 and S70

At this point I feel like it better to get a bike in Malaysia, because of our high taxes on all even our local brands Proton and Perodua, not to mention the cars that Proton and Perodua are selling us are nothing but boring, bland and dull. That's is why I plan to move to Australia 🇦🇺 to work, buy a house there, and to get a better, cooler and normal to drive without paying so much for it, I understand people will say it sounds ridiculous true, that's true, but for me I would rather move to there where their AUD dollars are higher than our RM and I don't have to hear all our Malaysian Politicians talking all kind of nonsense to improve the country, when the reality there only care about getting the investments from the IMF and forcing Malaysians to pay so much for Taxes or SST, and next thing u know all the money will go to our corrupt politician including the KFC man and his witch wife. Anyone who reads this I hope u can see the reality and understand WTF is going on

Was hoping for android auto with this update 😢 but. Overall upgrades are amazing. Hopefully the updated IHU across the range means they will be able to receive the promised OTA update to support ACP and AA in the future 🤞
