These are awesome but aside from the inevitable Pergil scene, the extra “scenes” are basically just short cameos. I expected for a full Mando/ Andor adventure too.
Imagine if they contracted Respawn to create new missions for Smugglers Run, the game devs already know Unreal Engine. However Disney just invested $1 billion into Epic Games who makes Unreal - YET IMAGINEERING GIMPED THE ATTRACTION USING THE ENGINE because Disney was TOO CHEAP to bother creating more levels than the single mission they have now. The whole point of these modern attractions is they’re upgradable, yet the ONLY ride they’ve consistently released upgrades for is Star Tours because it’s a non-interactive ride. Toy Story Mania has NEVER been upgraded to add new games or holiday overlays in 16 years. Similarly we will never see any upgrades to Spider-Man Web Slingers. We MIGHT see new missions on smugglers run eventually, but not while Iger and Josh DeMaro are in charge.
Imagine that scene: C-3PO: "A transmission?" *Hologram turns on, Main Menu music from Jedi Fallen Order starts playing* Cal: "Looks like you got the message" C-3PO: "What is this, who are-" *Cal reveals he has a lightsaber* C-3PO: "A Jedi?" Cal: "Look, we don't have much time. I'm Cal and I need your help. Head to these coordinates and we'll meet up with you. Good luck" *Hologram turns off* R2-D2: *Droid noises* C-3PO: "No, R2, it's too dangerous, lets think this one through and-" *Hyperspace sequence resumes as usual*
Fun Facts: 1: This is a Legends ride, since it debuted in 2011. 2: This ride officially takes place in 1 BBY, a year before the events of A New Hope. This means that the Battle of Hoth shown here is not the Battle of Hoth from The Empire Strikes Back, but actually the First Battle of Hoth from Star Wars: Rebel Assault. 3: Thanks to these recent updates, Cassian Andor, Din Djarin, Grogu, and many of the Sequel Trilogy characters now exist in the original Expanded Universe and their Legends counterparts were active _during_ the Galactic Civil War instead of the time periods they were given in Canon. Ahsoka Tano was already in the Legends continuity, but we didn't know what happened to her after Revenge of the Sith. But here, we see that she's alive and well. And it also means Rosario Dawson got to be the live-action Ahsoka Tano in both continuities.
