2024 Subaru Impreza | Review & Road Test

Just a couple of notes. The mileage figures for the 2.0L are 27/34/30 while those for the 2.5L are 26/33/29. Also, the "Sport" and RS both have a sport turned suspension with low aspect ratio tires. Those looking for a softer ride at the expense of some handling prowess may not find it in the Sport model.

Its very practical....Its a capable compact hatchback. 1 of my cars is a BMW E46 wagon. Its small and agile not fast but adequate. This car is not for drag racing but for visiting parks and going on road trips. It has lots of safety features and I expect it to be very reliable. I like the look of this car. It does not have a bunch of plastic cladding but could handle light off road duty. They really should come equipped with roof rails...no one thinks this is a sports car...its a utility vehicle. I'll take one in grey or black....love those seats.

I had a fifth generation one, it was such a great little car that punched way above its weight.

All weather, all practical, a bit of fun maybe. Makes for a great deal!

Subaru did not stop making the wrx hatchback because not enough people were buying it. The last wrx generation that was sold as both hatchback and sedan, they both sold equally well. Hatchback actually sold slightly better than sedan

28K in the present day and age is by no means “Inexpensive” @KBB. It’s another topic that car manufacturers no longer are able to keep their costs in check.

Not crazy about grouping all the functions in one giant screen, which means when -- not if -- it has an issue, you'd lose all those functions! I would have preferred two smaller screen, like they have on the base model, for that reason. I also didn't realize that there was such a big mileage gap, i.e. 4 mpg, in city driving between the 2.0L and 2.5L engines; the average EPA mileage of the two engines is only 1 mpg off, but it would be much greater for those whose commute has more city than highway driving, myself included, which is something to put in mind when deciding which engine to get.

Nice little car. I might go for the Mazda 3 hatchback instead though. But Subaru's made a really decent little car.

I own Crosstrek limited with the 2.5L boxer. Great amount of torque, smooth ride for cruising. However, Fuel economy isn’t good, averaging 26 mpg in daily use (9.0L/100km) and roughly 34 mpg highways (6.8L/100km) Compared to my last vehicle which was a 2016 Mini Countryman; if it weren’t for Mini’s overly expensive maintenance and things that kept breaking, I would still be getting 43 mpg highways.

This should get closer to 40 mpg. I got the Crosstrek for 26,600 since he mpg was the same

It's a nice car, but the RS models in my area are closer to $32,000 + and all have several accessories. If the option of a 6 spd was available, it might be a bit better. Great review as always!

I love Subarus because they include AWD and inexpensive but not cheap looking. Kind of like a Mazda looking like a entry level luxury car but inexpensive.

I would have loved if Subaru released this with a manual. Probably would have considered this above a WRX as their entry level sport car. This would have been a great competitor against the Civic Si.

Most want the info on the BASE because it's the most affordable AWD vehicle. F the RS.

The 2024 is also missing a spare tire of any kind. It just has a tire inflator kit. 😢

I am not a big fan of the large touchscreen. Buttons and knobs > touchscreens

Your mpg on the 2.5 is incorrect

Same engine as the BRZ. Add more power in it and give it 6 speed or even a traditional automatic, CVTs are unreliable

You lost me at CVT and with paddle shifters? What happened to Subaru? It started with the Forester Turbo being cancelled. Buyers will go where they are treated best.

Oh god i just saw the fake cvt gear shifting. Please, if you're going to put a cvt into a car, don't have these stupid gear shifts or at least have a way to turn them off.
