I love Toyota, but I believe they're going to eat crow with this new generation Tacoma. The mid sizers from the other manufacturers are just too good for them to be getting away with this kind of (even msrp) robbery. Really sad.
Got mine for $44K over a month ago, trd off-road MT, no bells and whistles. Absolutely love this truck! Dealer markups are a total scam, and I blame Toyota because of their ridiculous allocation process. That TRD Pro there, it may be one of the only ones that dealership sees for the remainder of the model year. Of course they’re going to capitalize on the rarity… they’d be crazy not to if they know someone will pay, and they will, make no mistake about it! Such a shame because they are awesome trucks, and anyone who wants one should be able to buy it without getting ripped off! I say, if you’re looking in the $60K+ range, go for the Ranger raptor or the Colorado Bison! Much easier to get your hands on and much less likely to be marked up to oblivion. If you’re in the $40-50K range, you’d be foolish to not give the new Taco a look. Don’t let the turbo 4-cylinder scare you off, it’s going to be a beast of a new drivetrain for years to come
@@kevinbradley8613 nobody has paid yet. So far on Facebook marketplace it’s down to 76k now…I feel like times have changed from two years ago…nobody is going to pay that markup when you can buy a model like yours for 44k. I also got my 22 Tundra for 50k in 2021 with no markup.
@@enjoytheridedude I’d be shocked if it sells for less than 70 grand. People are buying them, there’s a few owners on the forums, and they admit to paying over msrp. It’s a shame, but the pro models are always tough to get.
Yeah that’s crazy…and this dealer is offering lifetime warranties but that means it needs to be bone stock forever…what’s the fun in that? At this point a V6 F150 raptor is 80k …at the same price it’s an absolute no brainer.
Shady dealership. Just went online a few moments ago and the truck is still for sale. However, the price list the current MSRP, but nothing about the $15K Market Adjustment price. There is a small disclaimer buried down at the bottom that the MSRP does not include Market Adjustment. Buyer beware.
@@TrevorKarran apparently someone bought it for 71k and thought that was a good deal when the next dealership in the same area sold a white one at MSRP
I paid $62K for my 2020 TRD PRO Tundra. I do love the look of this Tacoma but would never pay that asking price. It needs a few years to work out the kinks.
I love you for making this video man. They can definitely shove it. Also, did you get an oil sample from the Tundra to see if the bearings are wearing?
Thanks brother!! I ordered the container and I left it at home. Since the last video the consensus online has been the fix from Toyota is going to be a completely new engine not just a short block, I’ll probably just take the truck in and get it done. But I’ll get the oil analyzed before then for sure. I also wanted to stay ignorant before I went to Ouray and Teluride later this month lol 😂
I know it’s not a word. Ain’t no way in HELL i would pay $81000 for a Tacoma. I got my 23 Tacoma sr5 for 36000 and put my own suspension on it for less than half of that adjustment. They needed to be called out.
Its a great deal man. You can buy the truck and sell it back under warranty when the transmission gives out for 40 % of its value. Then the dealer shit can flip it for 90 K due to "inflation"....
Toyota is out of their minds....No way in HELL,would I pay 81 k let alone the 67k sticker price. Iwas considering one...But with the price, gas mileage and reliability...They can keep it... Also the unknown of the turbo 4s reliability... What has Toyota done to itself...so sad to ruin such a great company... They definitely need a new CEO to turn it around. Also, these dealers that are gouging should be banned and prohibited 🚫 from selling Toyotas.
That STEALERSHIP will see the Devil strap on ice skates and Hell freeze rock solid over before I would even think about paying STICKER PRICE let alone any " market adjustment " price !!
Stupid! $81k to rip off people with gotta-have-it disease. Truth is, they do it because they can and someone will validate them. Shame the dealership and the person who supports this BS! You can find a dealership somewhere selling for MSRP and have the truck delivered to you for cheaper than a $15k mark-up. Shipping usually runs $1k to $2k depending on distance, maybe a bit more due to high price of fuel but still worth it.
I was thinking strongly about buying a new Tacoma TRD Pro, this will drive me to make a different buying decision. Too many good competitors out there selling for better price. Dealerships that do this give Toyota a bad name. Shouldn’t be allowed.
Is this really real? $81K for Tacoma. I had tuned out at over $61K. A salesman told me back in the 90’s, “there’s a sucker born everyday” and Toyota clearly believes it.
@@youngmc5040 Free market capitalism. Nobody deserves anything. I could say the same thing about Porsche. If you can’t afford it, welcome to the club. 🫣
I’m 5’7 I have a 3rd gen Tacoma I was planning to buy a 2024 Trd pro and give my 3rd gen to my wife but man these pros are too expensive. I think I’ll just buy another 3rd gen.
Toyota does not care about the customers. I bought a 2024 Lexus Luxury Edition and like many other owners received only one complete fob and one with just a mechanical key and no fob. This unacceptable practice and been going on since 2020 and many have yet to receive a fob. They have many excuses but the pandemic is long over so chip shortage is just another worthless excuse. Please go to the Lexus forum and see for yourself. I bought a Honda and lo and behold I received two fobs and much better customer service. When my four-year warranty is up I will probably buy an Acura top trim level. Toyota has gotten arrogant and complacent with their customers and this is more proof if you ever needed any. IMHO
Sign me up! Only 81k for a driveline that breaks, and transmission that overheats, grill shutter, and a newly "de-programmed" systems b/c everything was underbuilt...Hell Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The dealerships are so greedy right now, because they’re not making as much money as they used too because all the overhead of the dealership itself it boils down to more money for the dealership for all the add-ons for profit
@@enjoytheridedude I like what you’re saying about manufacturer to consumer but there’s a catch you still have to go through checks and services before delivery because I know I used to work at a Toyota dealership they all had to go through that, and we found a couple things wrong with them a few of them
Imagine what you could do with a second generation Tacoma for that money and you wouldn’t have that stupid trailing arm coil. We are suspension that will get hung up on everything you go near and you have bulletproof reliability, durability, and proven performance.
In Canada my 2022 Tacoma trd off road premium was $50,440. Now 2024 off road premium Tacoma is $61,401. $11,000 more in 2 model years. Not worth it to me. My 2023 sr5 trd off road tundra (like yours) was only $63,000 Canadian and it’s a lot more truck for the money.
@@enjoytheridedude quality sure has declined it seems. Still gotta get my neural recall performed. If I rev it up in neutral it usually lurches ahead. I didn’t think I had the issue the recall described but after revving the engine by mistake in neutral….
The 2024 refresh is spectacular. I want this truck so bad. I don't even think $65,000 is crazy in today's market. That's just what these cost now. With that said, a $15,000 markup on MSRP is ABSURDDD. Even being able to afford it, would never pay above MSRP on principle. FIFTEEN THOUSAND. So greedy.
I remember when I thought 30 g was too much for a vehicle but over 80 g that’s a ripoff someone’s getting rich when they sell these vehicle and it’s probably the C E O getting rich with their big fat bonus at the end of the year ! CHIEF EXTORTIONIST OFFICER that’s what ceo stands for in today’s world !
Almost $82 for a truck that tows only 6500 lbs….😂😂😂 Never in my life time bud…I’ll pay for a ford super duty for $82 k than a measly 1/4 ton truck for a tow package of 6500 lbs. No thanks.
Extremely stupid pricing even without the markup. Ranger Raptor priced at 8k cheaper and arguably way better suspension and tech. They have been sniffing too much glue at Toyota to think the Tacoma name is justified this kind of pricing. I love the Tacoma and owned several but this is madness🤯🤯
After taxes $88k!!! Why on earth would anyone ever pay this for this truck? There are so many better full-size options available with a V-8, more luxury, and tech for less money than this! They are insane! 🤣
Id love one, but they are also going for 80K CAD as well, there is no fn way its even close to that price for a 4 banger, people just need stop buying any vehicle.
The prices don't have nothing to do with anyone commenting on how great looking this truck looks compared to the big 3 competitors. I love the looks of this 2024 Tacoma! It's free to like the looks of a vehicle! So here's to all the cry babys 🖕
82k means out the door with taxes and other fees comes to $88k. 2024 dealerships still charged adjustments markup. Hope people stay away from those greedy dealerships put them out of business ty for the content
The best parts of Toyota are what comes with the vehicle, best financing teams, willingness to fix the problems they've caused promptly and free of charge. Their responsibility for their buyers is unheard of.
Everyone needs to understand that dealers are a separate entity from Toyota exactly like a State operating under the federal government of USA. They will mark up these vehicles since they are only 2-3 per year allocated to each stealership.
