I find it funny that you mention the new suspension and the different top end performance, but you don’t mention the most striking changes that the suspension has on the top-end performance. The old 3 would oscillate badly in the high 90’s and into the 100’s. It got incredibly floaty. The new has zero of that. The old 3 struggled in the corners (though it was better than the S) but the new one just eats them up. Tesla finally learned how to tune a suspension and got it right with this car. Hopefully that will filter down to the others, like the Juniper.
Interesting. I only got interested in the 2022 Model 3 when I found out about the after market Mountain Pass Performance Comfort Adjustable suspension upgrade kit (about 5k, including install). It doesn't crap out in the corners and rides better on the straight road, even lowered an inch on 19s, and makes the whole car look significantly sharper. But you can't be too careful over speed bumps and you learn quickly which parking lot curb cuts in your home town cannot be negotiated without an uncomfortable scrape.
I just picked up a 3 performance, I traded in my 2020 model 3 and it's a huge difference in the cabin noise and ride quality. My 2020 didn't really rattle but single pain windows brought a lot of road noise into the car. The one thing I really don't like is the turn signals. I'm fine with the buttons, but I think it would be better if they had the right turn signal on the right side of the steering wheel, and the left on the left side. I find I am having to look down at the buttons to make sure I'm pressing the correct one.
Hey, how did you get your R8 hardwired through your rear view mirror? I don’t want to have to use the new cig adapter because then I can’t close the middle console lol
I picked up the Performance 3 on 7/17 and absolutely love it. I was a Day 1 Model 3 preorder, so I had the first batch of 3s from 2018. I loved that car, but this one is just so much "more". I also love that they let me transfer over FSD. That was unexpected. I just took it in today for a full PPF wrap and ceramic tinting. Can't wait to get it back. Great video.
Which state are you in and where did you get your ppf? I am also a Day 1 M3 preorder plus 1Gen M3P owner, and just picked up the new M3P, only thing I don't quite like about the new one is the color - love the original silver on the M3P which they dont offer anymore
I got the M3 LR RWD. While I drool about the M3P; price aside, I think the LR RWD hits the sweet spot, in terms of weight and performance. Anyone gonna talk about how it's a full second faster than the LFP RWD?! My main issues with the M3P are the thin wheels (expensive tires and ride quality) and too fancy suspension (adds repair cost later on).
To give potential buyers so prospective on cabin noise. I came from a 2015 A6 3.0T..the 2024 model 3 LR AWD is quieter than my older Audi. Great video. It not as quiet as my friends Mercedes-Benz s550, but its pretty close.
Another solid video. I see in the video you have dashboard mounted phone , however the recommended mount you've listed says not compatible with highland in its description. Are you using a different mount?
Ive got the Model3p 2021, ordered the 2024 M3p last week . I really liked the new dark grey and im transferring FSD. I was going to get black like my current car and it was free, but they caught on to the color change when transferring FSD so I couldnt get my black , since I like the grey so much it didnt mater though. The interior is amazing and the loss of stalks isnt an issue I like less more clean interiors . great video.
What has your range been like? Have you been targeting somewhere near 300 mil per charge? I know it depends on how you drive but I just want to get an idea. I’m in between this model and the long range rear-wheel drive.
Are you going to post a new video for how to hardwire radar detectors for the highland, or is it the same process as before in the previous model 3 cars?
I’ve owned my M3P for three weeks and 1,200 miles. First Tesla, and I love driving it. I also live in KY, Louisville so I get the cheap electricity too.
9:25 ur %100 correct, as someone who doesn't have a tesla but i am planning to get one that's 1 of the first thing I notice and people don't mention it alot, we have white/black seat options but then where left with this gray cheap headliner
The free paint and interior color for FSD payment, thats a good deal. I like the new seats, interior lighting and dash wrap around in a circle. If they can give control of interior lighting brightness, it would be awesome. Too bad still no change to the back light, I still feel the long light bar would be a good at the rear. Thanks for the update.
I test drove M3P a few weeks ago. I was disappointed about the roadnoise that people claiming has become so good with the new Model. No it was quite noisy I think. But it has the 20" wheels that does not help... I would like to try one with 19" wheels to see if that helps. I also tested a new Model Y LR with 19" and it was very quiet in comparison. But otherwise i felt that the M3P was a really fun car to drive 👍👍👍
Agree with most of what you say. What I don't understand....... ambient lighting. You and others gush over it like it was the best thing since sliced bread. But I don't agree. It's just a light strip that runs around the cabin. Until it actually serves some purpose, I can't get on board with praising it. Otherwise love my Performance, and I really like the black interior (after having white in my previous 3).
I picked my up yesterday and has a rattle on the right side of the dashboard. Its not the carbon fiber trim since i took it out and the rattle still there. Appointment is set in 2 weeks. Do you know what it could be?
Picked up my M3P a week after your delivery video, been following for a min. Have you noticed a slight pungent vinegar smell in the first few weeks of driving? Does it go away for you. Did it have it on the original M3P? Also waiting for your radar installation on the 2024 M3P video
No i haven’t noticed any smell. Maybe check your hvac filters/coils? As for the radar, the video i made a year ago is still valid. Only difference is tesla is now using the ground so you just undo it and attach the ground on top of the other ground.
@@JremiahJones maybe it's unique to my situation im in California and temperatures are above 100 degrees, so my cabin protection comes on often. I read that could be a cause but I thought it was more common than I thought. Anyways cant wait for more content.
Does the back vent makes mechanical noises when moving the the airflow, I've got new model 3 and when I'm trying to direct airflow on the back screen I do hear noises on how the vent are moving and I think my has some issue
Are you sure about the Chinese M3P getting 19" Wheels? I'm EU based and my Chinese built M3P order specifies 20" rims. I'm pretty sure the demonstrator had 20" too.
I have the 24 m3p and this is my first tesla. I need a wheel setup for the fall/winter (in long Island new york so we get cold and snow) did you get different rims and tires or you get just different tires to put on those rims. I don't know much about tires and wheels and especially with what I could get because this 24 m3p has different sizes in front and back
@JremiahJones when you say square I guess you mean all 4 wheels the same size? Do you recommend a certain size and brand like telsa oem or like aftermarket
@@jasimeahmed5422 I've been trying to find out myself. I think because of the larger brake caliper, there isn't much room for a smaller wheel. Some 18 inch wheels may fit, but 19 inch wheels shouldn't give clearence issues.
I think I’m going to take the plunge and order one, with the tax credit it’s hard to beat for sure. Add in the finance rate special…. Yea I’ll test drive one this weekend
I placed an order for the LR rwd cause I thought it was gonna have the upgraded interior, but now im debating between LR AWD or Perf. Really only want a white one and i would qualify for tax credit
I disagree. I don't think the seat ventilation is "just blowing the air that's already in the cabin, on your back." The air is noticeably colder than the air in the cabin.
Idk why ppl complain so much about no turn signals. In my opinion is not that bad at all, I just purchased a M3LR, and is fantastic. I think those who complain are those who always foget to turn their signals on before they are making the turn.
All that and you didn’t your mileage? My complaint is it doesn’t go ANY further than the old 3 performance which is also significantly less than the long range 3 from reports. What have you found. I’m personally gonna wait until they put the new Chinese CATL battery in it that allows FULL charging daily and goes much further Performance still shouldn’t be charged to 100% daily which sucks
How is it that every time I see someone discussing Autopilot, they show a clip of them sitting there (e..g 18:23) with hands OFF of the steering wheel? I have FSD in my 2022 MY, and I CONSTANTLY get nags if I am not torquing against the steering wheel and/or if I look at the screen too long…
@7:41. The reason why no stocks bother you is because you don't drive in a major city with a lot of traffic like NYC. It will drive you nuts if you have to drive in NYC and will likely cause some accident or get some ticket for not signaling
semi drivers wobble because theyve been on the road for 8+ hours probably, getting sleepy, or are new drivers. I have had a few people tell me they will drive for 24 hours straight sometimes
@@Souliss24 and yet they still do it . They just log the hours in 2 different books so it doesnt look like they logged more than they are allowed in a single trip
