People who complain that woods golf is fluky never talk about how windy open courses are so random on which cards get the worst wind. At least in wooded courses it's not changing every 20 minutes
So sad to see Gatekeeper and GK Pro blocked from doing chase cards. Their coverage was every bit as good and the announcers had a different perspective. To me the sport should be growing not shrinking. How did this happen we get less coverage?
I agree, it sucks. I think because jomez got bought out they want them exclusively doing coverage, which is why they're doing more check-ins, but it's still not the same. Still need way more check-ins if they're going this route
well, last week we lost multiple Nate rounds that otherwise would have been covered in full. Which considering how rarely he plays all the events and is on featured coverage was sad
While it would be nice in theory, you would lose some of the insight the commentary team have from playing the same course as the players on the broadcast. Men and women don't play the holes the same as the tees and baskets are often different.
I remember playing tournaments in GA a few years back and Ezra was usually beating Issac but Issac went on tour first. It seems like Ezra is getting more serious now. Looking forward to seeing both of them on the same lead card soon.
A chase card check-in now and again during a final round is nice BUT the whole reason i watch Jomez over the live PDGA coverage is the coherent content of watching 1 card play their round. What you have been doing is a great format, please keep it! Love the channel! Thanks for all you do for disc golf!
Super curious how the first day’s featured card is determined. I’m pretty sure there is more MPO players than the 8-10 we get to see every tournament. Would be so great to follow some guys we’ve never heard of.
39:10 idk how i feel about time violations, i rather see great shots than make sure someone throws in 30 sec. On the putting green is a different story tho
I don't like it because from the time he grabbed the 2 disc out of his bag and stood over his disc he took less then 30 seconds. There needs to be a clear definition of when your time starts. IMO the official started his time way to quickly based off the video evidence we have he took about 30 seconds to address the lie then about 20 seconds to throw when he decided what the shot was and in the ruled you are supposed to be given an adequate amount of time to address your lie which is seems he was not. The exact same situation with Gannon last week.
Yeah, it'd be nice if Niklas could have requested extra time. For specific shots, sometimes you just need a little more time to think, and that's fine.
@@kevin735 I definitely agree. The #1 issue right now is needing to create a very specific point of when your time starts Cause to me NIklas time should have not started till he grabbed the 2 disc out of his bag and walked to his lie. From that point on he threw withing is 30 seconds
I have no idea how fast Niklas actually plays in general, but I feel like time violation should only be called if it happens repeatedly. The intent of the rule is to speed up play and I'm absolutely fine with someone taking 50 seconds once or twice a round to figure out a tough line if they generally play pretty fast outside of that.
@@Migrean He's not in a hurry usually, he likes to consider his options, but I don't think it's at a level where I'd think of it as unusual or annoying.
Always love the content! Curious as to why there is a chase card checkin on round 1. I don't understand the purpose of it, makes sense for just round 4.
Love the new intro music and everything about Jomez! You guys should bring back the single player interview before they tee off on the first hole. Always loved that when a new player made featured/lead card
It’s funny how ball golf greens like on hole 9 are OB when if this was a park course with no old ball golf course on it it would just be part of the fairway.
"If there we grass on these fairways instead of mulch..." deep in the woods in Texas? How exactly would you suggest they grow grass in the woods lol. Your choices are mud, or mulch. Grass doesn't grow with 100% shade last I checked.
Same reason you'll see a lot of people take their OB mark 100ft back from the trees at that one USDGC hole; once you go OB, you can mark your lie either 1m in from where it went out (in any direction) or you can place it on a line that extends from the basket through your mark, straight back. So on a dogleg, you'll see players take the extra 50ft of distance to have a better angle
Please stop with chase card checkin until its the final rounds at least. Its so obvious they are clips of people doing the hole perfectly and adds no excitement to initial round coverage. At least mix it up or add drama.
Check ins from day 1 and sometimes day 2 seem rather irrelevant in my opinion and would much rather see a full card on gatekeeper even if it’s a week late. A lot of guys are missing out on exposure due to this new format🤷♂️
did Niklas just play his shot by dropping his disc because a couple of years ago big jerm throw his second disc to his bag in Vegas and both uli and nate said that was his shot (hole 8 38:44)
