@@CaesarAugustus27_I don't know man, I'm definitely no soy boy but the new one is legit. It's pretty quick, awd option, looks sharp, doesn't scream "I need attention." Pretty hard to go wrong.
That trim piece which u said u r confused about at 1:28 is the best thing. If another guy opens the door it will hit that piece. u just need to paint that piece and if u hit while opening its slightly longer than the door so that piece hits the other guys door. Hope thats clear.
I’m 28 I bought a 2016 Prius for DoorDash and it’s so good for the job knock on wood I’m getting 65mpg and yeah I drive on the slower spectrum to get that mpg but like you said it’s peaceful, has enough tech and super comfy. Nice review 😊
Hahaha your thoughts about getting one are the same as mine. I currently own and love a 22 WRX limited with a manual, but have a 30 mile commute (60 total) three times a week. I barely get to enjoy my short-throw shifter as I’m mostly on the highway. Seeing these in AWD or a Prime are insanely convincing 😂😂
Yep, I have found it impossible to find for less than $2,350 above MSRP plus 7% tax plus $1k paperwork fee. And thats for a car that is not even on the lot.
🤔😁Ben, I inherited my mom's 2012 Prius IV and Love it! I had a Tacoma and Tundra...and still wish i them. But, the Prius even today still gets 55 mpg and for me ...plenty zippy around town. Without a worry about gas prices or a car note. I'm debating about getting new Prius for Safety tech.
i also don't like the loud noise the engine makes when it kicks in from battery....also the cabin noise is loud in the highway....im coming from bmw x2 and boy that car had noise cancelling or something....music sounded crisp on low volume....also the paint...omg the PAINT is soo cheaply made..there are swirls and chips...and i NEVER EVER bring my cars to a car wash....i either spray it down or wash/wax it myself carefully with a microfiber cloth....its a cheaply made car....affordable for the masses....gas mileage also dropped from 530 till gas fill to 430 in the winter...but overall i do get 51-55 mpg,,, which is VERY good.
Not really after winter ...its now spring my gas mileage to empty went from 529 to 430 and it has stayed that way...cabin noise is still loud...engine rattles on incline..its meh..
I like the new Prius, but hate the thought of dealing with sleazy, arrogant Toyota dealerships. It's always an awful, soul-sucking experience. I also have come to like the extra ground clearance & elevated seating/viewing position that a Crossover like my 2022 Mazda CX-30 offers. Hard to go back to low-sitting, low-clearance sedans/hatches after owning/driving even a small crossover.
Yes indeedy as I get older I drive my '67 Volvo Wagon a lot more than the Pry-us Pry-me just coz it's easier to get in and out of! It gets 25mpg so is ok most of the time. I do keep an escrima stick in the Pry-us Pry-me to help me get out of it when I do drive it. A hassle.
I fully agree, I also hate the thought of dealing with the dealerships, simply walk away... * I purchased and still drive my 2005 Prius, but dealerships were different back than. * My 2005 Prius has treated me well no complaints, 170k miles, have not replaced the battery... Simply regular maintenance I do myself. ** As for purchasing a new Prius, I will simply wait till mine stops.. 👍
Hmmm, other reviewers have commented in the negative about headroom in the back and sight lines out front with the thickly raked A pillar. Also getting in and out not easy. Form over function. Otherwise, it's a good looking fuel efficient vehicle with good power. But the negatives could be deal breaker for some.
The ONLY thing that ruins the look of this car for me is the rear door handles. Just put real handles on the door ffs, not everyone wants the weird handles
Looking for one now but I have to getoutside Venezuela in FL to find a decent deal. Toyota pricing and rip offs by the dealers due to the influx is super unappealing. I love this car as a side car so I don't have to put miles on the Jeep.
Why do you people always repetitively use the term you guys you guys you guys. It will really becomes annoying. See if you can actually speak to your audience without using that repetitive combo
Dear Toyota, for $35-38K price tag, please make moonroof and rear windshield wiper a standard option! And I honestly won't mention that non-symmetrical dashboard is just awful looking! Been a fan of Toyota my entire life. If I were to buy a new vehicle, I'll hit Subaru or even KIA dealership at this point.
LE is pretty much a non existant car created to bring you in and then actually sold another trim ($5,000 +) morewith WORSE mileage, and worse ride experience thanks to skinny tires. Nuts. Esp in white or red and not depressing grey.
Aaaah, all of the trims have the same 195 tires. The Prime SE (LE in The US), has 195-60-17"s. The higher trims have 195-50-19's. The ride in our 2024 Prime well exceeds that of the other two Prius cars we owned. And, BTW, you can't buy a white Prius. If you get the chance, stick your face in close to the paint on the "white" Prius on a bright day. It's not white, it really is the same colour as a pearl from an oyster. That's why it cost us an extra $600.
My local Toyota Dealership keeps their inventory off site and then claims a supply shortage and ads a market adjustment fee on top of the MSRP. It's hard to buy new these days. I like your new Prius.
Ben, for a comprehensive review, you should point out the negatives too like listed on here. Aldo add in steering wheel blocks the instrument panel which is a safety issue. Lots of positives like you stated, but a fair number of negatives. The sloped rear also affected cargo capacity compared to previous Prius.
@@danielhuffman Just about every auto reviewer has complained that no matter how they adjusted the steering wheel, it blocked the view of the digital instrument panel which is very small. That is a safety issue just like Tesla that puts everything on huge screen to the right of drivers central vision. The severely raked, thick A pillar further compresses outward vision on the Prius. And ingress and egress is further compromised, especially for tall drivers. AGAIN, form over function.
@@michaelsheedyThat’s fine that reviewers who spend a day with the car haven’t adjusted to it, but as someone who owns one and was concerned about it at first, it’s a non-issue. I found a good steering wheel/seat position in a couple minutes and haven’t had an issue since. The A-pillar does impede visibility, that’s true, but having owned other cars with the same issue, it doesn’t phase me.
@@danielhuffman Well, it is a great looking vehicle and definitely helps the environment with an affordable price to boot. I drive a hybrid too, and love the 50 mpg average.
In trying to make it "sporty", Toyota ruined the practical aspect of the car. People don't shop Prius for excitement; they want practicality. My 3rd gen may not be fun to drive, but its interior offers an impressive about of space for people and stuff in a small car. If buying now, I'd opt for a Camry hybrid over the new Prius.
Bro your not old. Im 20 and at 19 i got a 2010 toyota prius used for 6500 and still paying it off, but i do wanna get the newest prius i can when i get the money. Its such a smooth car. Hybrid synergy drive is amazing. And the modes of it is so amazing and useful. Im currently saving to get a 2025 prius but i think if a new year came up when i get enough, ill go for the newest year
1:23 the "random trim piece"; I think They wanted to intentionally making it looks worst to encourage you to get a higher trim....serious. Other trims, especially the mid-trim and up, they don't have this.
Great looking vehicle. Enjoy it on video because you’re more likely to find a big foot, a unicorn, or a Dodo bird on a Toyota lot before you’ll see the ever-elusive 2024 Prius.
We waited 21 months for our 2024 Prime (a 2022 was ordered). Only good thing about the wait was that we ended-up with a 2024. Not sure if he was joking but, the Sales Rep. told us had we ordered our car on the day we got ours, the wait would be three years. Since the introduction of the 5fh Gen. I have only seen three other Prises "on the road", and two at the dealership. And, our local dealer is one of the largest by volume in our country. I might add; I've seen every colour except black. We asked for a red car (I wanted the Guardian Grey but the 2 person committee won-out ((as per usual)). Someone at Toyota arsed-up things and we wound-up with the Pearl hue. Never so glad about a SNAFU. The Pearl is the definitive colour. The colour looks white from a distance. However, stick your face very close to the sheet-metal, the car is like a pearl from an oyster.
How? They have been making Hybrids since 1997 and tweakng them to the better since. Avg longevity is 270 to 280K on the Prius. Most get more. Some Prius Taxies are well over 500k.
I hate the interior on this! 😢 I have a paid off 2017 Prius, and I was considering upgrading but doubt it now! Why does this car's interior look so cheap? I also hate the new shift stick and dashboard area. Wow :(
Honestly nothing impressive. Yeah, it’s definitely an excellent car, but not better than a Honda or a GM vehicle Especially for almost 30k! Honestly don’t understand why people roast a fully equipped 35k Chevy but Praise an empty 30k Prius 😢
This prius have received a bunch of awards including motortrend car of the year. Brand is important, when you think of the top brands Toyota is always at the top not Chevy lol. Did you miss the part about 57 mpg what Chevy is getting that?
You're going to be hard pressed to find a car that gets the same mileage plus now looks as good as the new Prius. To add to that, their eCVT is perfected while the CVT in the Accord is new tech, has a turbo engine, and is bound to have an early failure.
Because, our Prius Prime cost us over $20,000 less. After 6,000Km we have used less than 1.5 tanks of gas. If we had a Tesla and it needed repair here (and that will happen). You have two choices; fly-in a technician from (at least), 1,400Km away, or, trailer the car for ten hours by road, followed by an 8 hour boat ride, followed by another 5 hours trailering. Then go to your hotel. All on our dime. If our Prime "fails to proceed" the dealer, who is ten minutes away, furnishes a tow-truck. For free.
