As a Battlehawks fan, everything you said about them was accurate. They looked great earlier in the season, peaking in the annihilation of the Defenders in DC. They just weren't the same after AJ got hurt. I knew AJ was important to our team, but I didn't know we would just fall apart completely after that game.
It really is crazy to look back at how the season went. I think it would be a massive mistake to keep Gradkowski for next year as a lot of their problems were simple play calling issues. The amount of short screen passes and reluctance to go deep despite the unbelievable receiver talent is crazy.
@@ZombPhoxUFL 100%. My brother and I went to all the games, and we were calling their plays before they happened because they were just so predictable.
You mentioned during the modern-day spring football era, no team has ever played in a Championship game, only to lose by scoring less than 10 points. This happened on three occasions: 1984 USFL Championship Philadelphia Stars defeated Arizona Wranglers 23-3, WLAF World Bowl '91 the London Monarchs shutout the Barcelona Dragons 21-0 and World Bowl 2006 Frankfurt Galaxy defeated Amsterdam 22-7. The Stallions' shutout of San Antonio was the first spring football championship shutout in 33 years.
It really is crazy how bad a loss SA took this weekend. For me, I view the modern-era of spring football to be from the AAF and onward with the USFL's return being the start of the ultra-modern era. I always forget how bad the Wranglers got beat in the 1984 USFL Championship tbh.
I will hopefully have that video out on Friday, but overall I had a good time aside from the game being a shutout, naturally I will go into more detail in that video as well as showing some pics and videos I took.
Honestly i still think Michigan is better than San Antonio, the Panthers had a tough defense with a guaranteed 3 points in Jake Bates not to mention the good running game..i think they would have won the championship if it wasn't for my Stallions. #GiddyUp 🐎
That was my thought process as well, after seeing the XFL conference championship and UFL championship I definitely think Michigan would have won it all if it wasn't for the Stallions.
I would not give the Brahmas an A+, maybe a B+ or A-. To get an A+ you need to win the Championship game have a good record like the Stallions did this year. The Renegades won the XFL championship last year but they had a 4-6 record so there is no way I would have given them a grade of A+
I view it based on the expectation of the team heading into the season, and almost everyone thought the Brahmas were going to be terrible this year, so them going 7-3 and making it to the Championship game is a massive success for them.
@@ZombPhoxUFL I would agree but people did give the Brahmas some credit for picking up Wade Phillips. A+ you need to win the Championship game have a good record
I think they probably win at least 2 more games. Having him on the team would have made the run game a legit threat instead of a unit nobody was threatened by, and Ta'amu would've had a better season with Smith taking carries as well. The issue is that the O-Line was still an overall poor unit and the defense wasn't anything special so I don't think they would've been incredible, but they definitely would've finished no less than 5-5, but more likely 6-4.
Birmingham is just stout. The Stallions were loaded with talent this season. I mean, the Stallions dominated the UFL. Birmingham went 11-1 in twelve weeks straight with no bye week. Let that sink in a little bit. Birmingham is going to be the favor next year and looking for a 4-peat, my goodness!
The wishy washy offense was the downfall of San Antonio. Sure they had their moments but at the end of the day they were inconsistent and while the Stallions defense is also really good, getting shut out like that after all the work you put in to make a championship is disgraceful. That being said, that defense was championship winning. If they had a more dynamic offense with a better more consistent playcaller and a quarterback who was more of an elevator then they could have stopped that three-peat. Garbers was not that guy and it made me mad how much it looked like he just gave up. The D deserved so much more cause they literally did everything they could.
The slide on 3rd & 1 is easily one of the most low-effort plays I have ever seen, and seeing it in person was even worse than how it appeared on TV. I genuinely believe that if the Brahmas had taken McClendon in the draft instead of Dormady they would have had a better shot to win it all since they would have a QB who had proven to be able to make plays with a very poor offense last year with Vegas. The RBs not having incredible games hurt the Brahmas a ton as well since Garbers is such a mediocre QB who doesn't elevate just like you said, and while Dormady is much more prone to bad turnovers he still is a more dynamic QB and should have been put in earlier imo.
@@ZombPhoxUFL Crazy thing is that he slid early twice both on 3rd and short situations and they both looked equally as bad. I'm not sure what was wrong with him but that type of stuff is inexcusable when its literally the championship game. I'm not saying this is the case but it looked like Garbers didn't care and didn't want it from what I saw. At least Dormady would maybe show some passion and fire even if he's not as technically sound as a QB.
Facts. The way he called plays you would assume that the Battlehawks had no offensive talent instead of a top tier QB, RB, and multiple great WRs like they actually had.
How the Renegades make it to 4. They ain’t make the Playoffs and have a losing record. Yeah this is power rankings but uh the Renegades are not better than the Battlehawks Edit: Still good TV Ratimgs though.
I just can't get over how awful the Battlehawks were to end the year. Especially looking at how great Arlington looked to end the season it's hard for me to have St. Louis above them in the rankings. The main way I view it is that the Battlehawks defense is the 4th best defense in the league whereas Arlington is the 7th best defense, but offensively Arlington is the 2nd best offense whereas the Battlehawks offense is around the 5th best in the league. Both are 3 spots from each other, but the best single unit between them is the Arlington offense and they also ended the season better.
@@ZombPhoxUFL You make a point. But then again the battlehawks only did bad because of the Horrid Offense late in the season. Alrington still ain't better but maybe I'm baised
