I don’t understand why everyone is convinced they crushed this draft. They gave up a ton of assets to acquire their picks and then drafted two bigs with extremely limited offensive games. Plus their second rounder was a reach that may not even make the team. Yes, Cardoso and Reese are big names, but I don’t think they fit well together and I definitely don’t think this was an A+ result for them.

@@LaxStixTacticsthan your still thinking it’s 2005. This is clear defensive culture set. They won’t be offensive players Chicago needs to make moves to get an all star scorer. This is the beginning. You have to think Bogut and Draymond with shooters.

@@Sportsguy0258 Nope I’m thinking it’s 2024, where offenses need stretch bigs. They won’t be able to play together at all, because you’re simply sacrificing way too much offensively. Funny that you tried to compare it to an old Warriors team, when the Sky clearly having nothing even close to resembling the splash brothers. They will be one of the worst teams in the league next year without a doubt.

I'm in agreement with you. I don't agree with his analysis of the Aces. Don't EVER bet against Becky! Kate Martin is skilled and she performs in big moments! Fair is an absolute bucket. She'll be a nightmare to defend on perimeter with her speed and playing with Jackie Young, Kelsey Plum, and "Magic" Gray! Liz Kitley is third pick if she wasn't injured. Becky knows what she is doing!

12:01 Kate Martin has the intangibles that make an average player so much better. She's an Alicia Clark type. Never a starter, never the star. But all her minutes are extremely valuable. Wether as a defender, scorer, or rebounder. She's always where she needs to be, and does what needs to be done in order to be effective. I believe Kate Martin can be that type of player.

Kate is a Real "Dawg". She'll Hang as long as any other Player and definitely isn't to be Ruled Out As A Threat to any Opposing Team. She played in Caitlin's shadow, Gladly, but has her very own set of skills. Not sure if she'll get the chance though. Kate could very well be one of those Kids who are Scammed by the W's Mickey Mouse "No Guaranteed Contract" Mickey Mouse Faux Draft, Like Monica Sznano(Caitlin's Big Segundo In The Paint) who sat on the bench for a month with mere Minutes of play, then Summarily Cut, without even Bus or Cab Fare To The Airport from The W, and is now playing overseas and is likely earning more money than the W could offer. Kate Deserves Better, but I doubt she'll get it, from Vegas or any other team of "W Legends", who Ain't

What @dwightcurrie8316 said. Kate is a workhorse. She sees play making and understands the game, she’s not going to go into training camp just trying to do her best. She’s going to go in ready to get bashed and slashed, don’t count out Money Martin.

What I'm discounting is that Very Few WNBA Teams,With their Mickey Mouse, "No Guaranteed Contract" Faux Draft, are to be "Counted In" to use a player as truly gifted as kate, for the Betterment of The Team, The League, and Lest of all Kate. Check out how Monica Cznano, a Dawg of a Big for Iowa was given such Short Shrift by the W...Bench Sat for a month or so, given very few "Minutes" of Play and then summarily Cut. Monica now plays overseas, and is likely making more money than the "Legend Filled " W would have offered her, assuming they had any intent to keep her, to begin with. That and other BS that Permeates that Failing League is what frosts my Cookies. I Adore Kate Martin, but I just Doubt Seriously that she'll be given a fair Shake. I think it's all PR for that Miserable Bunch who make up the "Leadership" of The W, who are more concerned with "Alphabet Activism" and Gatekeeping than the betterment of the League by recruiting and then.,,...GASP....Actually Playing talented players like Kate

Whether it's for a defensive stop, a crucial rebound, or a much-needed bucket. That's what I see in Kate Martin.

Chicago is a clear A+ move 1. You now have the defensive culture set and proven winners. You have to think Andrew Bogut/Draymond early warriors days when they were number 1 defense and offense. Sky has to now just get shooters and playmaking PG and this is a dynasty. Sky is now very versatile they can go small against quicker teams. Angel can guard 1-5 and facilitate. Cardosa you call no plays for her she’s a gazelle running crashing boards and playing defense. This draft was literally brilliant for The Sky. This is where the game is going and they just jumped the curve.

Yes...the International players-whom I knew nothing about-threw off my picks. Albeit the three winners in the 2024 WNBA Draft... were of course, the Indiana Fever, the Chicago Sky, and the LA Sparks-I gave each team a grade of A+ because Caitlin Clark, Kamilla Cardoso & Angel Reese, and Cameron Brink & Rickea Jackson are going to teams with outstanding coaches: but most important, teams with great player development. And I believe the Chicago Sky brain trust will figure out how to play Angel and Cardoso on the floor at the same time...If it was me, I would post Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso up on the opposite side of the paint, which would leave the other to clean-up each other's or their teammates misses; trust me coach T-spoon will figure it out!

@@djnivekonea.k.adjnivek1517 that is correct, and between the two, Reese needs to develop her mid-range, and possibly her three-point shot. That's what small forwards are doing in the league. They're not just parking up under the basket like she did in college

Great analysis. I was thrilled Sparks didn’t overthink it and went with Brink and thought Rickea was a steal (though I might have gone with Aaliyah). All the mainstream press is about Caitlin and Cardoso/Reese so they are flying relatively under the radar but I think this pair will have a huge impact next season - hopefully.

Aaliyah Edwards has to expand her game and learn how to shoot threes. I'm a UConn fan and that was the skill that I think she should have worked on. I know UConn have lots of shooters in their roster but her inside game won't translate when there are lots of centers taller than her in the W. Besides, Elena delle Donne is taking a sabbatical so the post will be clogged this year for Washington.

Chicago was an A+. They saw the surprise pick with Jacy Sheldon and pivoted and got the two hottest bigs out of the SEC. That’s a legendary move, and Angel gets to play her original position now that Kamilla will be their true 5.

Clark went #1 but Chicago definitely won this draft and I’m mad about it lol. Sparks fumbled again smh. Reese and Kamilia is gonna be played like David Robinson and Tim Duncan with the spurs, if you’re not familiar RU-vid their highlights. Twin Towers 2.0… This was genius. Shout out to T spoon and the management for pulling this off. And might I add marketing is gonna be thru the roof for the sky. Everyone is talking about the sky right now

Curious to see how the international players will fare and when/if they'll play. Draft and stash has not always worked out well in the W... I can't really think of at least 3 great players who has come out of that. Hopefully, these new players will change that. Anyway, Charisma Osborne being a first rounder in some mock drafts then falling to the 3rd round is wild. Aces should have picked her instead of Martin.

I don't see how the Sparks are anything but an A+. To get the scorer in Jackson without sacrificing Brink for Cardoso? What else could you ask for?

I think LVA & PHX had good drafts 4 teams w/o 1st rounders. The Bird comp 4 Muhl is a reach lol but she's a good player tho. Interesting ATL took all foreign prospects w/ no #1 in 2025. I agree witchu on the promise of Washington's frontcourt tandem, particularly Austin's upside. LAS have 2 pro-ready lottery picks while my Sky got the flashy, big name stars who need offensive polish but will inhale rebounds & defend well on day 1. Plus a floor spacing shooter 2 boot 😌

I liked & most agree with your grades. One Player greatly overlooked, is Nika Mühl, & heres why I feel that way. My opinion, 1st Im a born & raised Hawkeye, huge CC Fan & New Fever Fan, & Im saying this for Nika out of Uconn because shes this good- 1st Nika’s Defensive Tenacity is unreal, shes quick to the ball, Great Hands, Great awareness, vision of the gameflow, Tough & durable, & Yes She can shoot, very well actually, She just prefers to be a Real Team player & pass the ball around to Bueckers & other players when she has clear open shots & could have easily had a much much higher PPG Avg. in college. But chose instead to make her Team better by Passing. She wasnt unconfident in hesitating to shoot as you suggested Respectfully, she was simply looking to spreading the Ball around rather than shoot each time she had the ball, which was alot of the time in her games, again, shes always around that Ball. Her Tenacious energy remains thruout all her games, while others have gotten worn down, yet her level was consistant. She Passes well, Assists well, she rebounds well. She’s humble & kind Always paying it forward to others before herself & even crediting others when asked about how she got where she is, to me thats a trademark of a Quality Player, that quality you just hardly see anymore, when so many players are all about themselves. -Lastly, It was Nika Mühl who mostly kept Uconn in that Uconn/Iowa final 4 game, Nika was on Caitlin like Gorilla glue in that game, she isolated Caitlin & took away most of Caitlins Impact, forcing other Iowa players to step up bigtime. Every single one of Us Hawkeyes watching that game could feel a slight fear, and see Caitlins impact being taken away by Nika Mühl and How Well Nika Played and was on Caitlin constantly. -Truth is, if anyone wants to go back and Rewatch all of Nika Mühls games start to Finish like Ive done,, its worth it, & its also why I feel she’s been so overlooked. I think Nika was a Steal that was just overlooked & Seattle scored by snagging her. Peace and Respect to you all and the game. 🏀

You're overrating Aaliyah Edwards. She isn't a good mid-range shooter; in fact she's lousy, and she can't dribble much. She's such a good athlete that it's a shame that she didn't develop more skills under Geno, but unless she learns to shoot and dribble, she won't matter.

Elizabeth Kitley arguably the third best player in draft sans ACL tear. Much more skilled than Cardoso. But Camilla is definitely the better defender.

@@fixamacallit2672 The problem with Kitley is she's slow, doesn't have a full set of low post moves (no spin move, no hook, no moves toward the basket) and her shooting range is limited, plus she's not much of a defender and can't dribble. I would take Cardoso over Liz for sure. Liz will likely be a backup center of limited value unless she improves her game. Kenny Brooks didn't develop her much. Cardoso is so big, powerful, and fast enough that she can be a useful rotation center on any team. And her shot is coming along enough that it might become good.

@@fixamacallit2672 I guess WNBA scouts didn't watch Liz play either because they all agree that she's a long-shot late-round project. Last year, Dallas took Stephanie Soares 4th overall despite her having the same knee injury as Liz Kitley. That's because they think Soares has a full offensive game, with hooks, spins, a nice faceup jumper, etc., where all teams agree Kitley is limited and unlikely to be a serious WNBA center. Dallas might be wrong about Soares, because she is a bit soft and has had two ACL injuries, but the elite offensive game is already kinda there. If scouts thought Liz was an elite center skill-wise, she would have been a first-round draft and stash like Soares. I agree Liz has good offensive moves, but Cardoso is bigger, faster, and stronger. Liz is very slow, doesn't rim-run, and isn't good at tough offensive rebounding and put-backs. Cardoso is also a better passer out of a crowd underneath as she is great at keeping the ball high. Plus on defense Cardoso has Liz beat easily. Neither player can dribble much. On traditional center duties, Cardoso is better and a useful rotation piece on any team. She doesn't have great offensive skills, but her shooting technique isn't bad and looks likely to improve if she works enough on it. Liz has a good fadeaway, but she doesn't get very high on her release and isn't very athletic, and has no other low-post scoring moves, so good centers know the fade move is coming and can lean on her and make her shot difficult. Did you watch Liz play Notre Dame on 2/29 where they stifled her? They just leaned on her obvious one fade move with their two centers and made her uncomfortable shooting, and Liz had no answer. That's likely what WNBA teams will be able to do to her most nights. Her shot is not close to unstoppable like Dirk, who had great range on a high-arc beautiful jumper and unblockable lean-backer. Liz's 3-point shot isn't very good, and even her 15-foot faceup shot is mediocre. She has a low arc trajectory that needs work.

You also have to factor in them trading the rights to swap a 2026 first-rounder to move up one spot into the draft grade

This is the problem with the WNBA most of these women won't even play. They really need to release that salary cap so at the very least these players can sit on the bench and learn. Hopefully this season they get more viewers so they can increase that salary cap and expand to other cities. Not to mention this is not even the full line up of this draft class some opted to stay. After 3 years another monstrous class will come to the league similar or even better than this class. I hope by then the league will have more teams and more roster spots, Its a total waste to see these good players disappear after college.

@@user-mm2bk2uu1u actually they can they just won't do it. It's not like the league will shoulder the players salary the team owners do. Most owners are billionaires the current cap is 1mil and change. Increasing it to 5-10mil won't really bother them. The wnba is playing this way too conservatively. They will probably see first if this class can bring in money before doing something. There's no downside in releasing the cap and expanding short term. They're just scared that if they did and can't bring in more viewers they'll just bleed more money in the long run. Which will happen anyway since the league is stagnant, the vets keep holding the spots and rookies keep getting cut. You keep watching the same people play nothing is changing.

The reason why college ball is fun is that there are so many players and teams that have a shot. In the wnba with so few roster spots and teams you already know who will win most of the time. Who would bother watching that, that's why they keep losing money. Even now 3 teams are way ahead of the others liberty, aces, and the new storm team. The recently concluded ncaa has SC, Iowa, Lsu, Ucla, Uconn, Usc to name a few. We even got a Cinderella run from NC state.

Do you understand basketball at all? Or you're just a millennial RU-vidr wannabe trying to get clicks? Do you even watch the WNBA? Are you aware who the back to back champions are? They stole Kitley, who was graded as a high first round pick, but slid due to an injury. They had already drafted one of the greatest scorers in NCAA history, got Kate Martin from the back to back championship game appearance Iowa team, and a 6'6" Angel Jackson. You gave almost every team an A, and yet you gave the 2 time champions Las Vegas Aces a C with a draft like they just had. WOW. And yet you gave Washington and Connecticut an A+. Please watch basketball for sometime before making another video like this. The way you speak makes it abundantly clear you don't know the game at all. The way you gave just about every single team and A of some sort, proves it.
