I’ve always bought parts from cycle barn and bought my 2023 Yamaha MT-09 ever since my 2014 R1 was stolen from Marysville. But once I was rebuilding it I had spent $2,500 in parts to revert back to factory, prior to leaving to Missouri I can safely say my 2014 R1 is back and almost done rebuilding after spending $8,000 in parts. Cycle barn has been the greatest place to buy parts awesome team such as autumn from parts. Awesome intro video of the R7.

I dont think the r7 is meant to be a replacement for the r6. They are too different from each other. The power band is the opposite on r6 and r7. I think yamaha wanted to do a "modern" street sports bike. So they took the great street engine the cp2 and build a sports bike around it since the yamaha mt07 is a naked bike. In my opinion you cant compare it to a 4 cylinder race machine like the r6

Thanks for the comment! We totally get your point, and you're right-the R7 and R6 are very different machines. The R6 was such an iconic four-cylinder supersport, and it’s hard to replace that. Yamaha's move with the R7 does feel more like a shift towards a more accessible, street-friendly platform, especially with that CP2 engine from the MT-07. Comparing the two is definitely like apples to oranges. As fans of four-cylinder machines ourselves, we do miss the R6's race-bred power band. Fingers crossed we see another street-legal four-cylinder in the future! Thanks again for watching and sharing your insight!

God I hope they bring the r6 back was a stupid decision to stop making the r6. If I would’ve known they would’ve stopped making the r6 I would’ve bought one.

It was not released to replace the R6. It was released to be it's own thing.

Thanks for your comment! You're right-the R7 wasn’t technically released to replace the R6, and it definitely stands as its own model. However, it is Yamaha’s new middleweight sportbike option, for now. While the two bikes are very different in purpose and performance, the R7 seems to fill that gap for riders who want something sporty, affordable, and designed for everyday riding. @@ridecyclebarn Then just say it Yamaha's current middleweight sports option without mentioning the R6. At the price, it's a fantastic bike on its own merit, but as soon as you mention the R6 the R6 fanboys are gonna be on your case, badmouthing it and will be turned off. Anyway agree to disagree, but note that if I walk into a dealership and they show marketing incompetence by saying this is a replacement for the R6, I am walking right back out and moving on to another dealer.
