This is my first bike. I enjoy it a lot, I’ve taken it to 115 on the highway without trying to make it go faster (that was fast enough for me), and it got there effortlessly. I am more of a twisty roads guy. Our highways aren’t really straight either a lot of curves so it works.
The only problem I've had with the R7 is price. Used these bikes are 7 grand. And insurance isn't cheap if you're a new rider. That's the only faults I can give this bike though. If you have the money and really want this I'd go for it. But it is a lot of money to invest into one bike.
@@dylanarchangel2673 got to agree with this one. Very expensive bike for no reason, and very expensive to insure especially in the UK. I reckon it’s because of how new the bike is though. Prices should go down eventually
@@ThatGhostR7 Depends on a lot of things. Mainly, how often the bike is stolen or crashed, what area you're in. etc. It's varies with insurance just based on your location. Example. Me as a new rider, one years no Claims Bonus, was quoted for £3,000+ for a years worth of insurance on a USED 2020 model of the R7. As much as I wanted this bike I just couldn't do it. Granted, this would've been my first 'big bike' after my 125. I've since moved towards the CBR650R 2019. It's a Sports Tourer, so you get decently cheap insurance even at Comprehensive.
@@ThatGhostR7 I say that just as I switched options LMAO! Found a decent deal on a MT-07, and funny enough somehow insurance isn't as bad on the MT as the R7. The guy also already has it A2 restricted which I'm currently on the A2 license. Going to see it tomorrow! Quite excited, love the crossplane engine sound.
I feel like the R7 is a newbie trap, beginners upgrade from 300cc and be like 'ah yes, torque'. It has a horrible engine for its cc/price and the only reason it's so popular is because it has more appeal on social media, than in person where it looks like an r6 withdrawing from crack. A used Street Triple A2/660 is considerably cheaper, and 90+hp via $150 bluetooth ECU dongle vs. 70hp via expensive derestriction on r7, is not even a contest. Commuter bike for poser squids especially in its Special-Clap-Project-without-baffle form. Tbh I loved the R7 before I actually knew anything about motorbikes, but now I understand it to be a new-age fake-Harley-sounding meme-like existence that somehow won't die off, to impress people who know nothing about bikes, whose owners enjoy pretending to be fast on the highway whilst too scared to lean beyond 15 degrees yet blowing the eardrums off everyone around them, rather than improving their riding in the twisties. It appears the American cancer had also become malignant in the UK.
I put an Akrapovic racing line system on it pulls better towards top end. A Yoshimura air box is supposed to give another 8 wheel horsepower and vastly improve top end power. But I can’t find a uk supplier
Thanks for the video Bro i been looking to get my first bike and I like the R6 and R1 but this made me rethink what I'm gonna choose. Now I'm thinking R3 or R7.
i also chose an r7 over the cbr for my a2, it looks a million times better and its for sure the right A2 bike for whoever wants to ride track or twisties. ps: squids chose cbr only to go fast in a straight
@@ThatGhostR7 btw i still got it restricted to 35kw and i recently finished the break in period and wanted to derestrict it do you by any chance know how?
@@IShadow__PTfirst you gotta figure out what type of restrictor you got. Theres a few variants. The most common are throttle plate restrictors, airbox and in some cases ecu. Throttle plates are by far the easiest. You can figure out if you have this by testing to see if something is stopping the throttle from opening all the way up. Google around, you got it 👍
I enjoyed my cbr650r a lot, and i even miss it. I think this class in general make great daily riders, with the exception of this specific bike for its riding position lol. Still love seeing them on the road
Yo, not sure if you'll see this, but what mic do you use and could you give me some tips on how to properly make a motovlogging setup. Don't want to take up your entire day but I just liked the style and quality so I just wondered.
The only problem I have with R7 is the engine. CP1 engine doesn't match the type of bike they wanted to build, either with the way it delivers power or the sound it makes. It's just doesn't make too much sense in R7 sport style body. I have 2024 MT-07 so I'm really familiar with this engine.
everyone is gonna stop producing inline 4s soon. there isn’t a point for them anymore (on the street atleast, track variants will always be around) i think the CP2 engine sounds great and they nailed this bike. i’d be curious as to why you think they screwed up on the bike?
@@nickroussain317 I didn't said they screwed up the bike. It's awesome, I just think the sound itself doesn't suit the body style here. Engine itself is superb, I have 2024 MT07 and I love it.
The R7 is a fun bike, I've had one for about 4 or 5 months and then did a long trip through Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg and immediately sold that fucker for a BMW F850GS 🤣 Fun bikes, but I like long distance trips and any sportbike will get uncomfortable for lengthy trips. They're not build for my riding style 🤷♂
Here a question I would like to ask, the weather been pretty crap only now we getting a bit of sun do you ride your bike all year around or just spring and summer? Also interested in getting my bike license but not sure either to get a dirt bike or super bike.
dirt bikes are fun and good for beginners super bikes are more like heavy machines and kinda hard to handle because theyre big but they are cool and fast. if you're a beginner you should get a dirt bike first or 125 cc motorcycle and then when you're more experienced you can upgrade to a superbike or sportbike. you shouldn't buy superbikes first because you might get shocked by it's power and lose control especially if its your first time riding.
Doing my cbt soon and then want to do my das straight after. I want to get either an Yamaha R3 or a Suzuki gsxr 400 Would you recommend either for a first bike??
I have an xsr700 and i love the thing. It needed some upgrades, mainly the front forks, but i have no regrets after 1 year. I put 16,000 miles on it in that time, if that says anything😅
okay new years resolution is sell my R3 and buy R7 lol.... been riding it for 3 years so i am more than ready to upgrade. plus have another 10 yrs experience riding 250-450cc dirt bikes
I've had my r3 for just over a year and I love it. Good through traffic and very lenient with mistakes. I'd highly suggest it (I'm a new rider too and haven't had experience on other bikes so take my response with a grain of salt)
@@ThatGhostR7 do you have any socials where you can see the wrap well? Is there a name to the wrap that you have next to the white? It looks amazing, my next bike is an R7 and this is the cleanest I’ve seen, would love to know some details so I could get mine wrapped similarly. Thanks in advance! 😁
How is this A2 license? A2 goes up to 47 horsepower and it has 74 (at the crank) it's till 65-70 at the wheel so it's definitely a full A license right? unless you mean the restricted version of this bike is also good to have, which i will agree with wholeheartedly.
Yes the review is about this bike restricted down to an A2 license at 45bhp, as I have experienced both restricted and unrestricted. Thanks for watching!
@@ThatGhostR7 oh i see, i want this bike so bad but i’ll wait until i can get the full A license as I’m 22 and I’ve only just got my A2 license and bought an old cheap duke 390 with low mileage to save money and learn how to ride, the R7 will probably be the next bike tho also I thank you for making this content, i love it!
@@sayu1927 you can unrestrict the bike. No need to buy a new one. Usually they just put a throttle restrictor on which can be taken off by any mechanic, garage or yourself!
Not specifically you, but in general why is that such an issue to some people? 😂 I mean I use 2 fingers now after switching to a 2 finger clutch cause that’s all I had, but I happily used 4 for over a year before that… nothing wrong with it at all
@@HvrryLife Your clutch doesn't wear out by pulling it in mate, when the engine and transmission are disconnected there's no wear on any component, when they get matched is when the clutch disc gets worn, and then, it is actually what it's designed for.
@@tonywade161 all 650s are slow but this video is talking about a2 motorcycles and my thoughts on the r7. It’s personal preference at the end of the day.
They ain’t riding that cb650r properly or there bikes not running right cause my riding crew we got 3 guys that have and I destroy them every time we race easy food cb is pretty much 100hp how the hell someong 75 hp beating dudes not riding right bro lol
