In this video, I want to share my first riding impressions of the 2024 Yamaha Tracer 7. This bike is a continuation of the 2021 model with a few updates from 2023. This motorcycle is also a smaller version of Tracer 9 and 9 GT, which I extensively covered on this channel.

Hi, for me it is the PERFECT bike. I'm just back from a trip to Ireland. 6000 Km. In the last two years i drove to Morocco, Greece, several times through the alpes to South of France, Croatia. Also a lot of Gravel in Croatia and Slovenia. In sum 44.000 km. Several times over 600 km a day. It is reliable. I have still also my MT-07 at home with over 100.000 km on the clock.😊

it's definitely not a beginner bike. In the right hands, this bike is a weapon on twisty roads. The only thing that lets it down ever so slightly in my experience, is finding that sweet spot when you're just noodling along in traffic at around 30mph....3rd gear feels a bit too low, 4th gear a bit too high. Maybe it's just me, and in the bigger picture, it's not a problem. Loved mine while it lasted, but it was wiped out by an idiot driver who turned right from the opposite lane, directly in front of me. didn't even have time to brake it happened so fast. No major injuries but I went for a flying lesson and the bike went to bike heaven. Great bike: good chassis, well matched to the CP 2 engine and no bullshit tech. Simple, powerful, excellent handling. Factory Ohlins would make it even better but It's not needed. If I was doing a long tour on highways, with a passenger and luggage I'd definitely go for something bigger, but for solo touring on interesting roads, 3-4 hour stints, no problem.

I will soon publish the video about this. It is definitely not targeting beginners in a first place as many people might think.

Went to a local dealer to see the Tracer7, had the same surprise, it looked way way better in person. Wanted to ask if you can speak in the future if the tech on the Tiger 660 (slipper clutch, traction control, rider modes) is a better deal than yamaha's legendary reliability, especially for newer riders.

tough call between the Tger 660 and the Tracer....both are great bikes for the price. Ride them both, go with your heart, not your head as there's very little to choose between them. Everyone goes on about Triumph's legendary fit and finish, but it's still built to a price. too early to say how both bikes will stand up to years of abuse, but in my experience, all new bikes are not a patch on the Japanese-built bikes of the early 2000's. Traction control is a feature on many bikes these days...not sure it's absolutely necessary on the Tracer. The fuelling's spot on (so very intuitive throttle) and it comes stock with Michelin Road 6s....hands down the best tyres for this sort of bike and power output, even in the wet.

@@billyb6043 Hi Billy. Those bikes are very close to each other but different. Soon, I will be publishing a video comparing both of them as I have this opportunity. Meanwhile, I should say that Triumph knows how to make bikes appealing. But quality is another side of it. It is not always what looks excellent that provides a supreme feel. And T660 was built to the budget. Other than that, it is a great platform, I think, and a very important one for Triumph to help them increase sales.

I think you nailed it, The Tracer 7 is definitely made for that type of roads, i think i have mentioned in one of your other videos, when you asked what bike you would be choosing on this type of roads, and as much as i love my Little RED ( Tracer 9GT ), i would choose rather a naked bike like a MT-07 or a Tracer 7, purely for the lightness and maneuverability as this CP2 engine has more than enough power and torque for these roads. Gread video and wait to see your long term thoughts.

I am super exited to try MT-07 on those roads :)

It’s funny how you say the look doesn’t translate. I did my research on this bike and when I walked in to the dealer I truly didn’t think it was the same bike. I’m wanting a parallel twin middle weight naked bike with focus also being on sound. I went to look at this Tracer, GSX-8S and the Hornet 750. I don’t like the look of the MT07, hence the tracer. I walked up and just started starred at the Tracer and couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. I thought it was the more expensive Tracer 900. I didn’t recognise it at all. I think the Tracer 700 is the more versatile of the 3, but I really want a quick shifter and when they are from the manufacturer they are much better. This is by far the most beautiful out of the 3. So I had to sit on it. Wow, much more comfortable riding position and the seat was incredible in comparison. I’m still deciding and you seem to have the most comprehensive tracer 7 reviews. However, you are an absolute giant so from that prospective it makes it hard to relate with certain aspects. I’m just above average at slightly over 5’11. I believe you’re 6’2.

Hi. I am 6.2, that’s right. But my team members who are shorter, also try the bikes I report on. So we can spot the difference. This bike is awesome for your stature. Also, QS can be installed and that is Yamaha genuine accessory, so it works perfectly. Thanks for watching.

@@alinwithther6 To be honest bro I love the Tiger 1050, I don't know why. I've looked at the Versys and for sure its comfortable and plush but I don't know, it lacks a wee bit of character that the Tracer and the Triumph have. Also the Transalp and the Africa twin but they don't do anything for me. Where I live in Scotland is full of narrow twisty mountainous roads like in Sergeys vids

@@RoobieRoo2 oh trust me I know, been there, done that 👍 Funny you say the Tiger, yesterday been with my friends to test ride the 2024 Tiger 1200 Explorer GT as he is thinking changing from the Versys 1000gt and his words “ oh my gosh this seat is much more comfortable than my Versys “ also he mentioned there was no wind buffeting whatsoever and the 150 bhp made life so easier, the only criticism was which is expected on this bike was the vibrations. Is a big bike for me but I love the triple cylinder bikes so I might give it a go one day 🤞

@@alinwithther6 That's very very helpful, buffeting and comfort are two of the most if not the most important factors for me. Thanks so much XD
