What I love about this, this is more like my style of riding. This guy is not pro but definitely a good rider w/ experience. Fantastic video. Feeling it for sure!

excellent riding as always! Big question - if you owned a 23 yz250f, would you sell it to get the 24? The changes to the 24 look sweet and having a new bike is always nice, but I really like my 23 and I wonder if I'll miss the 23 after switching.

1. Thank You! PS: I dig your channel 2. Personally, I'd keep a 23' YZ250F for another year or so myself. I'm not the type that has to have a new bike every year, and first year models make me nervous: That's just the way I'm built. In your case, if you're gelling with the 23' ergos, engine character, and handling, a 24' may not be as much of an upgrade as it feels for me. I'm big on comfortable ergos, and have begrudgingly voted previous YZ250F's as Number 1 for the last few shootouts based solely on its overall goodness, but comfortable in stock trim it was not. At 6' I'd like a taller seat, lower/back pegs or brackets, and thinner shrouds, which is exactly where the 24' YZ250F improved the most. Durability wise, as long as yours has been good with no timing chain related issues, I'd say she's a keeper for awhile longer. The 24' redesign is better for those looking to pump up the HP and race them at the highest levels, but higher pricing due to demand and less aftermarket supplies make me cautious. Also to note, the 24' will have a quicker handling character: Some will love it right away, others will need some time to get their baseline settings dialed to feel 100%. Hard to go wrong either way - Gotta' be happy knowing that makes either decision all the more comfortable. Cheers

Thank You for watching. GoPro Hero 7 Black in a skeleton case for lens protection and cotton over the mics that catch too much wind noise. Definitely an oldie but a goodie!

Thanks for the video! Looks like a fun machine! So MXA said the low to mid is weaker (partially result of heavier cam chain) - what are your thoughts? I see you noted a little less power way down low (at 3:18 in your video sounded a little soft). How is top end and peak power - any change (same/stronger tec) from 22 YZ250F? How about the all new chassis - kind of rigid feel and less stable at speed on the 23 YZ450F....how does the 24 YZ250F chassis compare to the '23 YZ450F? Suspension was firm on 23 YZ450F - 24 YZ250F plush?

Maybe a little less torque down low, but well worth the durability improvement in my opinion. Mid and top feel better than ever. Power Tuner app has plenty of range, as always. I liked the 23' YZ450F chassis with some minor tweaks, and think the lighter engine inertia of the 250F makes it feel even better. Hard to compare the ergonomic updates, as 24' is VASTLY improved. All media tested their 24' YZ250F's with MX33 front tire, which isn't a fair comparison against any bike with an MX3S or MX34 (in my opinion). MXA had their 23' to "back to back" it, but even that bike had different tires, bars, grips, etc...Have a feeling the 24' YZ250F will only get better with time, as did the 23' YZ450F. Cheers

Curious how this stacks up against a 23 crf 250r. I am either getting a 24 YZ 250f or 23 crf 250r (just to save money). I like the feel of a slim bike as I currently have a kawi which is why I am more open to the new yamaha. I know yamaha is hard to beat for suspension, but how does the power of the new yz 250f stack up against the 23 crf 250r? I know youve ridden both so just want your opinion. Thanks!

Both good bikes, and equally thin with good ergos between the 23' CRF250R and the 24' YZ250F. For me being heavier than most 250F pilots at 185 lb. without gear, the Yamaha has an easier to ride and more forgiving engine character and chassis. The Honda is strong down low and through the mid with shorter gear spacing, but it takes a little more work to go fast at my size: Less fluid if you will. With the money you save initially on the CRF, it would take the difference (and possibly more) to make its' rigid chassis feel as soft and compliant as that of the Yamaha. I'm a Honda guy at heart, and with 23.5 mm or 24 mm clamps and a suspension revalve the CRF is a very fun bike to ride, but I'd likely race better on a YZ250F over the long term. However, first year bikes can be tough to swallow: Higher pricing, limited parts availability, less aftermarket support, etc. If you're a Red Rider fan and you get new bikes semi-regularly, the CRF could be higher on your list for a year or so, in time to let the cool factor of the YZ250F simmer...Tough call, both quality rides, just different in their own ways!

Did it feel boggy at all in the bottom end, or is it still very powerful
@CasMoto
@CasMoto 9 месяцев назад
Still strong, just a little less torque down super low. However, now the power transitions stronger through the middle and into the top. With the Yamaha Power Tuner app, adjustments can be made as easy as ever. Good question.

Would you recommend this bike or a 24 kx 250?
@CasMoto
@CasMoto 2 месяца назад
Both great bikes, just depends on what you're looking for. Kawasaki KX250 is nearing (or at) the end of its' current generation, whereas Yamaha will have a similar YZ250F platform for a number of years...Price-wise, probably better deals on 23/24' KX250's, but resale will be more difficult, even more so if a new 2025+ betters the current design. Yamaha usually has less deals on buying new, but you'll be on the latest and greatest for a number of years. Both have KYB suspension, the KX works slightly better for heavier riders (190 lb. +), but is too stiff for most under 175 lb. At 6' tall, I prefer the KX250 ergos though Yamaha has massively improved in this area on the new bikes (250F/450F). Yamaha has an electronics edge with the Power Tuner app, if that's something you're interested in, but the high-revving and powerful KX250 engine runs extremely clean too and has Kawasaki's tried-and-true coupler system. Can't go wrong either way and new bike time is always the best! Good luck with your decision, sit on each to feel what's comfortable (or better yet: beg, borrow, steal a ride on both if accessible), pencil out the pros and cons, then Enjoy. Cheers

How would you compare this bike to a 22 350 sxf? Stock vs stock
@CasMoto
@CasMoto 7 месяцев назад
YZ250F has a much better suspension package (not a fan of air forks, personally), but the 350SXF outguns any 250F - Period. The YZ250F is easily Top3 in the 250F field, and extremely fun to ride, just not fair to compare it against a 350. I really like the 2019-2022 KTM package, and feel they were some of the lightest/best designs ever produced. However, the suspension needs work and a complete linkage assembly (with stiffer shock spring to work appropriately) does wonders for those particular year Austrian machines. Cheers

@CasMoto thanks for the reply. Yes looking to swap to a Japanese 250f mainly cause I'm not a fan of the air fork and I don't race so not keen on spending so much on suspension. After the best handling 250f out of the box 👍🏼
