20240702T1300 [1x] TdF Col du Galibier Lautaret Climb Portal Challenge 

A spin with Anne in parallel to keep an eye on her NEO.
In her last ride, she seemed to lose resistance during an ERG workout.
All seemed fine today when I tried it. So why not trot up a climb (she's still on her Tron quest, on her original bone-shaker Z bike).
Well what do you know, ... after 12 minutes of moderate warmup effort - total resistance failure.
I jumped off my climb and went to inspect the NEO - it was roasting hot on the case near the exit vent. And no evidence of fan activity.
This was the after an expensive total refurbishment by Trainer Doctor. I imagine a total fan failure, and this the all new fan. Perhaps he didn't get round to replacing the fan as ay that time (when it was serviced) he had some problem so seemed to have scuttled my maintenance job. The loose and missing case screws attested to that.
Do I go for another weeks of downtime, or try to rig up my own repair. Perhaps install my own replacement fan. The NEO fan does seem a significant weak point.
Anyway, today I mounted 2 powerful fans pointing at the NEO. The day and room was quite chilly. Then jumped back on my race. That would have been a good time to have a Zwiftian coffee break.
My event was uneventful otherwise. Hard enough, but my mind was on the NEO.
I wonder if there.s any way to duct air from a fan to the air intake on the NEO case. Not much clearance between the chain and the NEO case.
Oh and I discovered, AFTER the ride, wher eZwift had hidden the Difficulty setting. So on the climb I was stuck with a Difficulty of about 5%.
