On Tuesday, January 9, 2024, Arctic Cat took the snowmobile industry by surprise when they revealed the 2025 model year lineup. More details have come out since then, and I wanted to compile what I know so far and share it with everyone.
In this video, I’m discussing all of the shock absorbers that have been announced for the 2025 models, and I’ve tried to explain them with the details that are available at the time of this video.
Here are the chapters, so that you can skip ahead to any portion that may interest you:
1:23 Shock Types
1:29 Hydraulic Twin Tube
1:52 Arctic Cat IFP
2:45 Arctic Cat AC5S
3:16 Fox Zero QS3 (and QS3 shocks, in general)
4:12 Fox iQS (ATAC)
4:57 Fox Float 3 QS3
5:29 Shock usage by snowmobile model
5:43 Models using Hydraulic Twin Tube
6:06 Models using IFP
6:21 Models using AC5S (Sno Pro)
7:09 ZR R-XC
7:31 ZR RR
7:55 ATAC (iQS)
8:15 Mountain Cat
Disclaimer: I'm creating this series of videos using information that's publicly available in addition to my experiences during the 2024 model year photo shoot, my attendance at Hay Days and beyond. Arctic Cat isn't helping me, and I have received no encouragement, compensation or deferential treatment from them to continue creating these videos. I'm doing this to help prospective buyers, because I think it's important.

Why no kashima coatings this year?
@ponycarfan

The ZR RR (ProCross) gets Kashima coated QS3’s, but that’s it - nothing on the Catalyst Platform gets those. Not sure why.

@@ponycarfan yeah I don't know of anyone that would buy a new old procross, I would think they'd put the coating on the new premier sled

I just bought a XF7000 with Fox float 3 on the front. Never had them before.

I thought they stopped using floats years ago? I don't know why, they were great shocks if you had them rebuilt every year

I’ve heard the fox shocks are quite a bit different on the cats because they are fox performance shocks and not fox factory. The reservoirs are way larger and only like that on the cats I think and not like the fox factory shocks

Good informative video! I didn't know much when I bought my ATAC ZR and got lucky and love the 500 miles I got on the sled before the snow went away. My son and I are thinking about a trip to Vail Pass or Cochrane Ontario, (desperate to ride) going to see what happens with the cool down next week!

That's awesome! Winters not over yet, hopefully you get more seat time on the new sled!
