Like the BMW M135 xDrive engine, all of the other engines available for the new BMW 1 Series are part of the latest generation of modular engines from the BMW Group. The three-cylinder petrol engine of the new BMW 120 and the four-cylinder diesel engine of the new BMW 120d are combined with 48-volt mild hybrid technology, which enhances both their efficiency and their spontaneous power delivery. All of the drive units transmit their power to a 7-speed Steptronic transmission with dual clutch as standard.
With a maximum power output of 125 kW/170 hp, the drive system of the new BMW 120 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.8 seconds. The new BMW 120d generates a power output of 120 kW/163 hp and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 7.9 seconds. The BMW 118d, also powered by a four-cylinder diesel engine delivers 110 kW/150 hp and an acceleration of 8.3 seconds.

The new one looks like a Ford Focus (or something similar).....BMW should not abandon the iconic angel eyes nor the vertical kidney grills.....the new one doesn't look like a BMW

Was excited to see the new 1 Series based on renders but am disappointed. The exterior design is flawed all over (F40 M135i rear especially looked great) and the interior looks modern but less premium compared to the previous gen. Will reserve final judgement until seeing it in person though!

The older model was beautiful, inside and outside. Now the interior is ugly, shame they ruined it. I was eagerly waiting for the new series 1 to come out but when I saw it I was disappointed. Now I will go to Toyota, which is also a full hybrid and much more beautiful.

New design no good the front lamp and rear lamp combination very bad. Design section must be better in this bmw serie 1.

Much prettier than the previous version, but it looks a lot like a Ford Fiesta! Thank God the Ford Fiesta is a cute car! It's also funny to see how they make a huge radiator grille and then completely cover it up because that much airflow isn't even needed! It makes you think about how disconnected the exterior design is from the technical needs of the car

The previous 1 series looks like a giant turd, never liked it, terrible proportions. The new one looks like some asian brand car and not a BMW, but looks way better.

Interesting. 1 series sales figures keep dropping deneration by generation. And insted of backtracking to generatikns that proven to be selling like hot cakes, they have decided to make variation of generation that had lowest sales. Peculiar.
