I’ve also picketed up my white metallic m60i at PCD. First BMW SUV, I love the comfort and power. Same seats which are more comfortable than leather. I would suggest to hardwire the CETEK 7002 to the front battery and top it off every quarter. Electronic do drain the battery more in these vehicles. Also, once a month put it on manual mode and get to the top of the RPMs to help avoid some carbon build up. Enjoy!
Oh Heck yes!! You built a beautiful X5. I have a '22' X5 X40I so a much lower model although I totally loaded it up with options. Have you noticed while the tailgate is opened when you reach in leaning forward your leg hits the close button? They need to move that button to the side. I have the 20" run flat Pirelli's that ride great. The problem with them is if you get a flat while driving you have to replace the tire. So a flat tire causes damage to the internal structure etc etc. $450 for a flat. But I love this very refined sporty yet luxury filled highly engineered vehicle. That V8 in yours sounds great to me.
@@arcflashed to re?answer your question though... I haven't had that problem with the button leaning in. I never take them up on the tire/wheel insurance because in 35ish years of driving I've never had enough tire/weel damage total to surpass the cost of 1 car worth of insurance.
I have a '23 M50i and love it, considering trading to new '25. Drove one today and am very concerned about the lack of buttons that I just may not like.
Solid review! You're right, this excellent car is let down by the fiddly infotainment and lack of buttons. I really hope these manufacturers correct this problem asap.
Great overview of your ownership experience. I have a ‘24 x5 m60i with the same exterior color and I really do love it. Really digging the black roundel mod you did. You may consider ‘blacking out’ your reflectors rear and front side. It’s a cheap mod and really increases its presence, IMO. I go through car washes weekly (I know…it’s at least touch free) and they’ve yet to fall off after a year of my ownership. One thing I wish I got was the B&W! Oh well there’s always next time.
Thanks. I know a lot of people are into the reflectors, but honestly I don't really even see them when I look at the car. I got screwed out of the B&W on my M8 because of the parts shortage issues and couldn't wait to get it on this. It really is an amazing system.
Currently have a 2018 xDrive 35i and shopping for an update. Did you consider any other brands? In addition to the M60i, we are looking at the SQ8 and Cayenne S. Curious to your thoughts on those and if you cross-shopped them. Nice video, appreciate it.
@@zjunlimited I'm waiting on an allocation for a 911 and considered the Porsche SUVs but they get expensive fast as does everything Porsche. For the money I'll take the X5 over the Porsche SUV and wait for my 911. Didn't consider any other brands as I had always wanted an X5
thank you!! My fam and I are comparing this M60i vs a Merc GLE580. We have heard nothing but GOOD things about the BMW in terms of build quality and overall reliability! On that note, have you had any creaks or rattles? We have yet to test drive the BMW, but have already drove the GLE, which was nice, but the interior was super loud for some reason along with the ride being "jittery" over the rougher road - (on 21'' wheels +air sus.).
This is an excellent review and I appreciate that you have had the vehicle for a while. Considering upgrading my '23 M50i to a 2025 M60i and you bring out really important points particularly the lack of buttons. I am not sure that I see a great advantage vehicle to vehicle. Love that classy blue color but with the dirt and swirl factor it is not for me. If you have the money the M50i/M60i are well worth it the regular X5.
Where did you get your black x5 emblems? I’ve been looking for some. I’ve been an Audi guy for years but got my first bmw x5 this summer and absolutely love it!
I’ve got a 2025 and did the 21 inch wheels. I don’t think I’d go back, the $800 option plus $1500 tire replacements (all season non run flat Yokohama). Drive better than the 20 inch run flats on my prior X5z
I would have gone bigger on the wheels, but the 20's were the only option for the all seasons that I needed. And I was trying not to spend the extra $2300 you ended up with to get the all seasons on them just to leave them on and sell the original set.
@@SnareMan It definitely shows the dirt when it's dirty, which is why I try to keep it clean most of the time. It's absolutely stunning when clean. I love your garage set up, by the way. Mine is sadly filled with too much stuff to use it as a carwash. :)
By the way, the ONE option I didn't get that I wish I had was the Alcantara headliner. My salesman said I wouldn't miss it. After I saw some with it, it sometimes eats me alive that I don't have it. haha!
@@777triathlete I didn't get it but admittedly I'm not that much of a fan of alcantara to start with. I have it on the dash of my M8 and wish it was leather. Maybe I just don't know what I'm missing with the headliner
I put in an order in 1st week of July with a 5k paint and 4 major options. The car wont go into production until week 46 and kind of lost interest. But your truck is nice. Do you have a pdf video
Great review! How come your [X5 M60i] in the back is black, but your “M” logo on the grill is chrome? It kind of looks out of place. Since you own an M car, you know what I mean? I do agree with you, the quad exhaust looks out of place. It’s like they put there, but then they are hiding it. Why? It looks like the exhaust tips are shaped in an oval design (???). Can you remove the exhaust hole frame and add black exhaust tips? Did you get any of the following packages and options: 1. Adaptive M Suspension Professional (Offers greater agility and precise response by lowering the chassis and electronically adjusting the dampers from sportingly tight to relaxed and comfortable. This feature adds Active Roll Stabilization to further improve suspension geometry and allow for less "lean" around bends. At lower speeds, you'll experience a sharper turning radius, making parking and cornering easier. At higher speeds, increased vehicle stability will make lane changes more comfortable). 2. Front massaging seats 3. Anthracite Alcantara Headliner 4. Trailer Hitch
I didn't get any of those options. I was trying to save a little money where I could so I didn't get the M suspension. I already have the M8 for more spirited driving so I was ok with my SUV being less sharp in the cornering. I think I might have been afraid the massaging seats would put me to sleep during a long drive, lol. The headliner is already black so I don't I'd notice the difference. And I don't pull anything. I hadn't really thought about the front grill M logo. I think overall they are putting too many M's on non-M cars.
@@SnareMan I agree with you. The M nowadays stands for [M]arketing. However, I don't have any problems with the new X5 M60i like yours or the X6 M60i and the X7 M60i having the M badges since all of these cars for the first time have the actual S-68 M engines. I have the B&W in my XM Label and I am not too happy about the sound system. However, the B&W in my iX M60i is something different. It's absolutely amazing. I am waiting for my M8C Grand Coupe to arrive in a month. I went all out with options, packages, an individual color, and carbon bucket seats. I think in a few years this car is going to worth something since it is going to be discontinued.
@@Steve-s3x Interesting that the B&W was so different in different cars. Congrats on the upcoming M8 GC. What color did you get? Hopefully in a few years they'll be worth something, but right now I'm expecting to take a huge hit on trading it in next year. What color did you get?
@@SnareMan I ordered Riviera Blue Uni and added any and all available packages and options. This car needs time for its value to go up. I bought it just to have it since it is going to be discontinued. However, I am not so keen on the iDrive 7, but at least it has the laser lights. My B&W in my iX M60 is something out of this world. It is the best out of all the BMW models. They have speakers in your seats, under the seats, and the best 3D Diamond sound. My next car is going to be an M4CS. The 4 Series are going to be discontinued after 2027.
Just checked the app and my average since June when I got it is 22mpg. I didn't opt for the extra suspension. I figured its an SUV and I have the M8 if I want something sporty and I was already spending a bunch on the thing.
Gas mileage - details. I see in one of the comments you indicate 22mpg. Can you provide any details on driving around town and the. Driving on the highway as separate data points? Thank you.
@@russnaples1892 I haven't measure each of those specifically to have a good say on those. I want to say when I drove back from South Carolina I was up around maybe 25 MPG. Most work days I have about a 25-minute drive to work which is 75% highway so I got a good mix of the two
Beautiful , that X5 would look even nicer with the BMW G05 X5 European Rear Flared Arch Set and BMW G05 X5 M60i Shadowline Side Air Vent Trim Set from IND ❤
Real world, not just a reviewer who borrowed the car from a dealer for a few hours to do a review. What do you mean by living in the middle of nowhere?
@@SnareMan folks buying a $95 K plus truck are not interested in key functions , but rather features , tech and options . The GV 80 is giving BMW a run for the money in that rear seats are power folding and reclining and a bunch of features the BMW doesn’t . I have a 2024 X5 40i , which is good value , but BMW need to step up their game
All season tires on a 500+ hp car is just a waste. It's like having a hot girlfriend but opting to have sex with a blow up doll. All season tires are way too much of a compromise and are crap at any temperature, especially below 45 F. 21" is a perfect balance, and spend the $$ for winter specific tires, or at least ALL WEATHER tires. If you're complaining about a second set or price, you can't afford the car
I love how snarky people will be to people they don't know on the internet. I can afford the wheels/tires fine, but thank you for your concern for my financial situation. To answer you in a polite way like a normal human... I usually only keep cars for around 3 years. If I kept them for 10 I might consider a second set of wheels, but really don't want to deal with the hassle of selling used wheels and tires. My SUV isn't going on the track so I don't need performance tires on it. And, Ohio winters generally aren't too bad so I don't need either dedicated winter tires or even the all weather tires. All seasons are find for Ohio winters. If I lived in Minnesota I'd have real snow tires.
