Look up the Corvette Zora with the camo. They are benchmarking the SF90 which does have 930 HP with hybrid assist. The ZR1 won't have the e assist. The Zora, will.
@@useritscarrot The SF90 is 986 bhp, or 1000 PS. The ZR1 will not be 900+ it will be between 800 and 850 bhp turbocharged. Fine that they benchmark the SF90 for the Zora but who cares? It's a five year old car by now, and it will be replaced next year.
I think they are going to make a statement, so (since you can't yet tune the ECM, think they will give the buyer what they what) they will piss off NTSB as did Dodge with the well Hellcats then both Demons. Granted some will have 10 miles on it, some will get that 8 second bracket

I prefer American performance cars but the technology almost always lags behind what has been seen for years overseas. That isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Why re-create or re-invent the wheel ? Just slam a Pushrod LT2/4 & Twin Turbos into the rear, add E-Ray front electric drive and BOOM ! ..... budgets and expectations met for 1000+HP Total.

Not going to happen. GM will still try and sell this as the common man's sports car, and it is still that. The problem with giving it a ton of power, aside form emission standards, is insurance. If you give this car 1000 hp, there's a good chance that a lot of potential buyers will be put off by the insurance they will be asked. On top of that, Corvettes are like many mid tier cars, financed. Financing a high power car can be difficult sometimes, unless you have a substantial downpayment, or very high credit score. So again, does not compute. If they make a Zora which could be about 1000 hp, that's a different thing. That will be much more limited and targeted towards a different audience. You need to look at this with a bit of realism. It's not just about how much power you can slap into a car. It has to fit with the main demographic.
This. Also, it seems like people are sleeping on the E-Ray. And aftermarket forced induction kit on one is going to hurt a lot of feelings on the street. 😂. Heck, a stock one is too.
I owned a 1988 Z51 Corvette, a 1991 ZR-1 Corvette, a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V, and now own a 2016 Z06 Corvette. All progressively better. The Z06 is the best I've owned. New ZR1s are out of my budget. I'm looking forward to seeing the new ZR1. Thanks for the video!

@@ChristianGroff-ns6oq Not really thats why there’s the stingray 1LT-3LT. Then the Z51 package for a little more performance. The Z06 , Eray then be the ZR1 and the Zora. Bottom line the corvette is the best deal out there period in whatever trim. When pickups r selling up to 100K of course the vet price will go up like everything else. But for around $80,000 the sting ray is a bargain. So is the ZO6 with more power better handling materials being used of course price increases. Want a hand built supercar the vet is way underpriced compared to the competition. I wish prices were like 20 years ago but that’s just not the reality of it.

This car is a reverse-engineered 458 with a botched plastic surgery look. The supercar world don't care. Ferrari buyers will still buy Ferrari, Porsche buyers will still buy Porsche. Lambo buyers will still buy Lambos, and some of them will still stick twin turbos on them and win Texas 2k, etc.

My Dad bought a C6 convertable out of South Dakota and asked me to go pick it up and drive it back to Oregon for him. Somewhere in Montana... I decided to put the pedal to the floor. That damn thing shifted into overdrive at 160 mph and was at 165 mph before I could start letting out of it. I had to use a heat gun to peel the leather seat out of my o'ladies ass she sqeezed it so hard! Hahaha 😅

@@isiahgomez6860 pretty much everyone who has a car. I can’t take my car on a road course every day, I can’t test the top speed except on a runway. But I can bust out a sweet 0-60 every time I drive.
I love everything about it except for the center exhaust and the funky center console. The C1, C2, C3 and C4 and the C8 Stingray did not use the center exhaust. So what is so special about a center exhaust it is no more high performance than the split exhaust? Why is considered classic? Most of the people I talked to that prefer the center exhaust liked it only for cosmetic reasons. I would appreciate any thoughts people have. If I had the money I would still own it in a heart beat.
This car was based on the ferrari 458 Italia, Chevrolet, they reverse it it till the last bolt of the motor to copy his extreme high revs design, thanks to ferrari , this car is a weapon

The new ZR1 will have close to or even more than 1,000 horse power. Everyone should know that by now. 800 is to low for the new level of supercar. A blower or turbo is a given at those numbers. I would be surprised if it's less than that and it would be only for reliability issues that they don't break the 1,000 horse power barrier.

@@electric8668 Lots of rumors probably going be the Zora with the ZR1 twin turbo engine with electric motors. But nobody really knows yet except GM time will tell.
Factor is so expensive, I was spending $90/week for SIX meals, PLUS my usual grocery bill! Also instead of setting my meal preferences I had to waste time each week double checking to make sure they weren't going to send me stuff I wasn't going to be able to eat. I even found corrugated cardboard in one of my meals, when I notified the company they only offered to credit me for the meals which contained the cardboard, & not compensate me in any way. I think they're a terrible company offering an OK product at a premium price.

considering the fact the c7 zr1 with drag radials was able to hit a 9.58 quarter mile while otherwise stock, the C8 ZR1 with at least 50hp more and mid engine layout should absolutely cook the C7 ZR1's time if it has drag radials. we may even see high 8s

They didn't invest million and millions on the floatplane crank motor to only use it in one car the zo6. All the mclarens are boosted flat plane cranks. If they dont use the 5.5 then the new zr1 will be a huge letdown
9:14 if you think about it 405 HP from a quad OHC 4 valve/cyl V-8 is pathetic. That's 71hp/L. The Honda S2000 had 120hp/L. Make a 4L V-8 that way and you have 480hp... now THAT would be something to brag about. My F430 has less hp/L than that Honda.
@@nikkotan2840 Did you know that Chevy originally chose the GTB 488's engine as a benchmark for their C8 ZO6 engine, but switched to the GTB 458 because it's exhaust note wasn't "chopped up" by a turbocharger.

Every Vette had Hot round lines, this one has angerly and very rushed, Carved Cuts with the front not even matching the rear, trying to look like a fezza (wich never made anything good looking after the F50) cheap dos Not make it pretty But it gives every kitcar company (and even inhouse just redesigning and call it Pontiac) a shance at rebirth

I suspect you will be disappointed. If I am GM, I'll make a SIMPLE ZR1 which is basically the Z06 with the E-Ray's front motor and battery pack. That's about 830 hp with AWD and enough to be the fastest thing on the road. Development cost will be almost ZERO. additional parts inventory will be exactly ZERO.
Turbos...yes. Flat plane crank? Who says? If so, they will have to lower the displacement of the engine. Even the Big Boys with flat plane turbo charged crank engines are not over 4.0L. I had assumed that they would go cross plane DOHC to maintain the engine size. It sounds less flat plane than the Z06 but maybe turbos might do that. I expected 850HP. We will know soon but this gives speculators more to get views.
ZR1 will be stupid fast and expensive... With only 50% of the creature comforts coming from a basic 911... But you can't compare a 550HP Porsche to a 800HP Corvette. Maybe to the new track Lambo or the Ferrari. .. Or the M4 GTR coming out soon ... Track car vs track car on same category, even if not same power.
C6 ZR1/Z06 still the king's, C5 z06 a close second, in my book. While the new Vette's are cool, I prefer a unassisted, raw, light weight, super car with plenty of feed back. I don't care about mid engine, team corvette beat plenty of mid engine cars at Lemans and GT races with the front-mid-ship engine, transaxle layout. Rather just track prep a C5 or C6 and dial it in to my driving style for 1/2 the price, than drive around in a close to stock C8. My 2 cents.
You can thank the 2025 C8 ZR1 Emilia Hartford and her RU-vid channel for that... She worked with GM after making the C8 they bought the fastest corvette on the planet. They even invited her to appear with her car. They wanted to see the upgrades they made, including a complete newly designed exhaust and intake system.
The black ZR1 looks like the one my mom once had. Growing up my mom drove bad azz cars. When she would drive me 2 skcool the carz she drove aswell as her looks never went unnoticed.😂😊 I had 2 put a few guys in their place coz they would go to far sharing their thoughts of my mom.
They will not make enough as usual and it will have many Mechanical Bugs and have stupid maintenance issues like the last Corvette! But still better than any French Super Car Pig or Italian Hairy armpit Super Car!
The main thing was besided the angle of radiator remember the car is fiberglass which at the time, radar had major issues detecting. Not to mention the old school guys and their aluminum foil in the wheel caps didnt help either (non corvette cars lol) The parts inventory sheets they found showed a couple turbo parts for a new named engine and the date was current year. It wont be a flat plane. They cant take the risk. C6 zr1 with the LS9 was and is a beast.
The C7 ZR1 is not a fromt-engine layout. That would mean the engine is over the front axles, but it is not. It's front-mid-engine - between the axles and in front of the driver. Great video, thanks 🙂

I wouldn’t doubt if the new 2026 C8 Corvette ZR1 will have brutal acceleration because of the mid engine layout and having all that grip. Unfortunately it will no longer be affordable.
One thing I have never done or will ever do is take the advice of a dietitian . They change their official story every couple of years . At one point the even said that smoking was healthy .
