I'm picking up a Black 25' Civic Sport next week (Once a insurance check arrives lol). I added the premium wheels as well, and the dealer installed them today! I test drove it 4 days ago and they're holding it until my check arrives and all. My 2014 Base Civic was totaled by a deer, so I'm very excited for this upgrade!!!
I hate videos that claim the civic is super reliable, I bought one brand new in 2022, then 2 years in the well documented "steering issue" started happening, first had two blowouts on the highway from the tires rubbing up against the wheel well, than the car started to feel dangerous to drive as the issue progressed. Flash forward after being in the shop (at the dealership I purchased it from) for four months, they returned the car with more engine issues and a shifted subframe. I brought it back two more times cause the car was driving very different (creaking, groaning and weird metallic sounds). The dealership claimed they had to basically take apart the whole car to fix the steering issue Honda caused (and basically refused to rectify) and that the subframe would "never be perfect again" and keep in mind the car was two years old with 25,000 miles. A month after this the original steering issue started coming back so I sold the car out of frustration and distrust. NOT ALL HONDAS ARE RELIABLE, nightmare car for real... There were at least 2,000 other civic owners wth the exact same problem last time I checked the national highway safety website months ago
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Not sure if this is a problem of the first units and is already corrected or not. I have the hybrid since February this year and everything fine so far.
Unfortunate that you have to go all the way to the top to get the better touchscreen, hopefully in the future they add that to one of the mid level trims
I’ve 2024 civic sport trim. After few days driving got issue with my steering wheel. It gets hard especially when you driving in the highway. Later I don’t know what happened it gets fixed and now so far it’s fine. Second issue is automatic windows. Sometimes front passenger side window automatic mode doesn’t work properly. Sometimes left side back window makes terrible noise when rolling up and down. Third issue is just few days after having this vehicle the back right side floor carpet comes out from its original condition what I never expected. I had Hyundai Sonata before civic and I never faced any issues Im facing now with the civic. That’s what I just can’t believe that. I always heard Japan makes better cars than Korea. Another thing is this civic sport has no heating mirrors which gives you very unpleasant driving experience during rain and also no blind spot signal that’s really unexpected. Nowadays every maker has this option available with their built. Last another issue what I am facing is you cannot get in your car using your back door. Yes you heard right. The door handles just stop working. Omg how terrible is that!!!
They have a new color this year called Blue Lagoon Pearl. Looks really sharp in person. The engine is all new this year, an Atkinson cycle engine making 150 hp down from the 158 hp last year. Fuel economy is up slightly.
Great review Kenny! That is a really nice commuter or starter car and the refresh looks great. Boo to Honda for cheaping out on the lack of storage behind the front seats. FYI it was 112 and humid here in socal. Hope that you are doing great!
Thank you for your amazing and thorough review. I am waiting for the Hatchback Hybrid model to be available at my dealership. Im leaning towards the Urban Gray Pearl but curious what this exclusive Sand Dune Pearl color looks like. Do you have any info on the Hybrid Hatchback release or plan on making a video for the Hatchback version? I did laugh at the "Oh poop handle" 🤓
That hatchback models should be available soon. The Sedans are assembled in Canada, the hatchbacks in the US, I forgot which state, but the assembly lines may have been later, maybe because of equipment for assembly not online at the same time.
You definitely got the shortest straw. That’s a bad experience for certain and some truly tough luck. Honda sold about 140,000 Civics in the U.S. in 2022 Since 2000 other Civics owners reported the same problems, that makes about 1.5% of registered owners with the same problem. Conversely, 98.5% of Civics owners enjoyed the Civic experience that has earned Honda such high praise for reliability, year in and year out. Personally, I have had a large territory for work over the past 20 years and that has resulted in me owning 6 civics. Even bought a 96’ Hatchabck back in 2014 with over 200k miles. You had some really bad luck is all…
It is a good looking car. I'm torn between getting a corolla or a civic. Just looking for an affordable car since i crashed my paid off hyundai sonata. Not looking forward for more payments.
Great review thanks. BUT, i prefer the 2024 front bumper. The 2025 is too protruded and i don't like the whale mouth design grill that seems to be borrowed from the HRV. Plus my 2024 EX has turn signals built in to the mirrors. I think the 2024 model is by far the best Civic ever built.
2004 Civic can get the same MPG...after 20 years of non-hybrid..nothing change for MPG..just the transmission and info entertainment system changed ..😂
2025. They want to push you to the hybrid to get good horsepower get a previous year so you get 180 hp and you don’t have to be forced into electric BS.
lolololol. THE SI STILL doesn't come with leather. STILL has only ONE MONOTONE interior color UNLESS YOU GET AN SI. STILL only comes in SEDAN. STILL only has 200 HP. ! STILL doesn't have paddle shifters. STILL DOESN'T DIFFERNTIATE ITSELF from lesser trim levels. STILL doesn't have electric seats. STILL has the OUTDATED small unnecessary window behind the rear door that is DEFINITELY PAST DUE TO BE REDESIGNED OR DELETED. STILL RISES IN PRICE YET AGAIN. * In review, every time guys blahblahblah about how fantastic it is, Honda raises the price and DOES NOTHING OF REAL VALUE to improve it, like an extra 25 hp/torque and leather seats.
I owned the current generation Civic-platform based Integra for a year, nothing I did addressed the back pain with seat adjustments and cushions made it worse. I think the driver sits a little too low to the floor and the seat puts pressure in the wrong spots due to limited or non-body conforming cushioning.
@@realmac3k i mean probably the back pain is because it doesnt have lumbar support (ok is understandable) but the seats on the sport are stiff, not much cushion as a normal car. If you are driving the car at least for 1 hour you will feel like you are sitting on a bicycle seat. Im planning to trade it for a corolla this year or next year
@@Joseabh24 funny I’m also a hobbyist 🚴♂️ and had a similar pain in the Integra even with adjustable lumbar support. 23 TLX seats are so much better as were my 16 Maxima. I’ve read 2024 Accord owners saying their seats are uncomfortable too. Think it’s bad design and cost cutting. People have said the same about the Corolla seats too just as heads up.
@@realmac3k i mean, Acura is a whole different segment. If you feel those seats weird imagine Honda segment that are generalist brand. I have been inside the accord and the seats are not that bad. But the civic’s are horrible, literally like sitting on a bycicle seat. I bought this car looking for a comfort A to B car. Looks like toyota is the only budget brand that does that. And note im only 24 years old, imagine someone older that could need a better seat
@@Joseabh24 True, but the Integra is more Civic like than you'd expect. Didn't live up to the Acura badge if you ask me. I hope they redesign the seats in future models but doubtful.
