Larger wheels are harsher, louder, less aerodynamic and more expensive to replace. Seat ventilation fans work year round to keep your back fresh. The Accord interior is larger but you can't see it because the seats are too dark. Hatchback is also most versatile. It's nice that Honda feels sporty but I don't like the noise levels which imply lack of sound insulation, cheap materials and wheel noise.

The Honda Civic is tougher to get into and out of due to lower body height or roof top. I once was 5'11" and with age and gravity dropped to 5'10" inches. Also with being over the age of 60, I am not as flexible. Wife drives a 2022 Honda Civic Touring and it is comfortable inside if you are not "Big and Tall". like under 5 foot 8 inches and weigh less than 180 pounds, sadly no lumbar support in the top trim Civic. I drive a 2023 Toyota Camry XSE V6 fully loaded, I need the HP and more height/head room also I have lumbar support. It is easier for me to enter and exit my Camry than the Civic. So, if you are Big and Tall, skip the Civic and get the Honda ACCORD or Toyota Camry or Mazda CX-5 or Chevrolet Camaro. If you like uncomfortable trashy looking small cars get a Honda Fit, Toyota Yaris, or Chevrolet Spark or Chevy Cruze or Bolt, Nissan Leaf, maybe a Ford Pinto. Avoid the KIA Forte and KIA K5 at all costs for KIA means Killed In Action as your life depends on it.

Cars are growing in general so if you haven't driven a "compact" in a few years you might be surprised that they are about the size of a mid-size from 10 or 15 years ago. I would values the smaller size of the civic since I usually drive alone or with 1 other person (although 3 or 4 is hardly cramped for an 1 hour or so). Smaller = easier to park and better mpg.

It isn’t true that Honda is “unable to” package a spare tire on the Civic sedan because it’s a hybrid. The battery is under the rear seat and doesn’t affect space under the trunk. The lack of spare tire is purely a cost cutting move similar to the reason for the lack or rear USB ports.

In November I came out of a 21 Accord EX-L into a 2024 Accord Touring. I was in the process of negotiating on a 24 Accord EX-L when the owner of the dealership came out of his office and saw the baseball shirt that I was wearing of which at one time he had had a personal connection. He asked what I was looking at and when I told him he said he would do better than that and sold me the 2024 Touring at the EX-L price. I was somewhat doubtful but my neighbor who was in the business for 44 years and was negotiating for me told me to take it. He even sold me the vehicle without the upcharge for the color I wanted. This is my 6th Honda and to date my favorite.

I chose a 2024 Accord over the 2024 Civic because the Accord is slightly safer in crashes because its about 500lbs heavier. Honda maintenance is a joke. You can only utilize your free oil changes if the maintenance minder gets to 15% or less or 10K miles. Who the hell waits until 10k to change their oil? That is just asking for engine trouble down the line. I have the 2 yr/24k miles complimentary service and is has zero value as I do mostly city driving and need to change my oil every 6 months or 5k miles. Honda is basically only wanting to pay for an average of 4 oil changes at most over a 2 year period. Not worth the potential damage to your engine.
@webcomment8895
@webcomment8895 Месяц назад
Doing one single 10k oil change isn’t going to destroy the engine. You can also do 5K oil changes at your own expense if you want and just go to the dealer to collect your one free 10K oil change. You can change the oil yourself or at a private mechanic at 5K miles and not reset the maintenance mileage. Then go to the dealership to get another oil change for free when it says 15% oil life.

I have a 2023 Civic in Australia which is the top of range and only one offered. IT has a panoramic sunroof as standard, heated steering wheel and seats standard, Lumbar support in front seats as standard. I’ve now done 20,000 klms and have $200 fixed cap servicing every 10,000 klm for 5 services. I am disappointed the new 2025 Civic overseas has dropped these features. Fantastic car, handling, fuel economy, comfort and looks is second to none. Only benefit to upgrades in Canada and USA is extra 20 HP and sound dampening in wheel arches which would be nice. We also have standard Michelin Pilot sport rubber which is perfect for a bit of fun driving. Here’s hoping the Australian version keeps its original specification. Have never regretted the purchase. The Honda Hybrid is genius and the best in the world. You only have to ask a specialist Toyota Technician.

The hybrid Civic needs 17 inch wheels as an option...the 18's make the acceleration, fuel economy, and ride harshness worse. I wonder if something with the hybrid's electric servo brakes necessitates a bigger wheel, or its just a style/aesthetic choice by Honda.

I'll wait to see the midlife refresh Accord for 2026 & 27 I'm expecting Honda to change up the Accord like back in 2006-07. Vs 03 to 05 where the rear is completely different.

I’m In the minority but this new accord grew on me so much I love it 😍… I do wish they kept the 2.0t tho

Honestly neither. 30-33K is too much for a civic IMO. I'd rather get an XLE Camry for 35K. Supposedly the new Camry is ultra refined and Lexus ES-esque. Civic is super nice buy you can't get any hybrid model for 30K OTD. Yes the Elantra and Corolla are cheaper feeling cars but they offer most of the tech and their hybrids costs thousands less.

I may of gotten a deal idk. I scooped up a 2025 Honda civic sport for 28K out the door

You know, I actually enjoy watching your videos, but just as I started watching this one, it occurred to me that I would not be buying either of these vehicles, as I refuse to pay more just to pay more. So I stopped watching, knowing that it was unfair to you two since you have no say in pricing vehicles. I am sure I will come back to finish up when I am just sitting around at 2 in the morning. Always well-done reviews.

The accord touring has lower lumbar support adjustment in its seats. I dont think the civic has that.

No mention of California while touring the back country roads? I only heard Kentucky and Canada mentioned and those oak trees and chaparral-covered hills @10:22 were certainly not in Kentucky...

No 360 degree cameras? No Pano Sunroofs? No USB in the Civic’s 2d row? CVTs only? If I were in the market for an affordable midsize+ sedan both of these would get a pass.

How is your CRI scale measured? Higher number is better? Or lower number is better?

Lower is better (less problems per 100 vehicles)

Thank you for the direct comparison of these cars. My only complaint/critique is that I would have loved to see how well a large suitcase fits in the trunk space. Most cars fit a carry-on or two, but my wife and I use the bigger ones when we travel.

I can’t thank you enough for this video. Civic is better for me. If I go non-hybrid it would be a Subaru Legacy. However, I’m not sure I want to go non-hybrid for the planet 🌍! Agh 🥴 😅
