@@innomoto Fuel injected two -strokes are currently made by ktm..I'd sell a kidney for an rd 500 in the US.! Japan would probably get one. Euro 5 emissions are pretty tight.Yamaha made the U.S. wait for a single Tenerre 700; While Europe now has 3 different versions....

If only. I had an original RD500 YPVS years ago. If they were tro make a modern one, it would be ridiculously priced for the rich lads.

@@innomoto the only fault of the RD 500 I read of at the time was the 4 pots were impossible to tune together. Do you think Yamaha can fix that?

Os motores a 2 tempos não cumpriam a norma de emissões porque utilizavam uma Mistura de Gasolina e Óleo de lubrificação. Isso levava a que fizessem muito fumo. Neste motor isso não acontece porque a gasolina é injetada eletronicamente e não é consumido oleo

Com a tecnologia atual, como a injeção eletrônica de combustível, motores como o novo Yamaha RD500R conseguem oferecer desempenho sem comprometer as normas ambientais. Yamaha power value system..I am guessing it would be 4 stroke and similar to Honda's system in their v tec cars ..2 stroke ain't coming to Europe or Japan unless it's been restricted to hell and has no power so its euro 6 or higher which defeats the object really

if I remember correctly (and I was just a teenager back then, it was a butterfly valve to the exhaust, by opening and closing according to the revs you tuned the back pressure into the pot allowing a more precise powerband. Normally without the valve the back pressure came from the length of the down pipe and expanse chamber causing the resonance.
