I think the only change is a new design and assist and slipper clutch. It still uses an LCD display. Usually we can add assist and slipper clutch to the existing generation unless there is a major overhaul in clutch system
@@shreyass2447 there will be price difference for Gen 3 as well. Usually you can add slipper clutch for less than 10k. TVS did the same for Gen 1 apaches when they added slipper clutch for new generation
I was expecting a big jump in displacement like jumping from R6 to R7, similarly jumping to R3 to R5. Also, it still doesn't get TFT screen or electronics, which is disappointing.
Really like the new looks. I think they made a mistake not going up to at least 400cc though. The R3 was a class leader when it was facing the CBR300 and Ninja 300. It was already falling behind the Ninja 400 but now it is way behind with the RS457 and Ninja 500 being the class leaders. Yamaha really didn't do as much here as they could have which is very sad.
Wonderful as always Dino. But the R3 isn't legendary anymore. The bike is simply more plasticky, more expensive and more erring on the not so great value for money side. Provided, it's a rev happy engine, provided it's got a 0.9 hp and 0.4 nm increase, the Aprilia RS457 and the Duke 390 is simply any day more fun, VFM and perform great on roads where it matters. After riding the R3 enough, an excellent tourer of a bike, but simply a boring city bike. Personally being a proponent of Yamaha, in my humble opinion though the R3 will remain a dud with the Yamaha moniker playing the trump card for it. Of course, your mileage may vary!
Kawasaki and Yamaha clearly losing the spot of superbikes...RIP🙏.... Suzuki, Trident, Ktm and Aprilia Pricing perfectly for with standing Indian market Competition
lmao Kawasaki? Nothing comes close to the ZX4RR in it's category, and the ZX25R wins over the CBR250RR too. The only real contenders to the ZX4RR are the Chinese bikes, especially CFMoto with the 500SR VOOM. Wtf are you on? 2024 was horrible for KTM sales-wise, plagued by some engine part issues world-wide.
@@naveenopable not a Kawasaki fan brother but the thing is right now the lineup of Kawasaki is better than others and also the pricing is also kinda good, little expensive but still kinda good, after that I'll say Trident and Aprilia, and atleast better than Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda. Forget about KTM right now because they haven't launched anything new besides the 790 Duke in the past.
I am quite happy for the R9. But not really impressed with this R3 update. Too late too little. Except the Slipper Clutch Yamaha hasn't done anything very important. Yes they have updated the design. I don't know why but I prefer the current gen design more than this updated design. May be after seeing it in person, I can change my option. Anyway look is a subjective matter. We needed a more powerful engine, new chassis, wider tires, 41mm USD forks, Color TFT, Updated braking system.
Look at it, it does not get a new frame nor a new swing arm or not even upgraded engine. (Apartt from the assistant sleeper clutch).so anybody who has an old r3 can face lift it easily.
no bidirectional quickshifter, trident 660 has it now as standard, even rtr and rr310 has it, but r3 doesn't get as optional also. so what's new? If you are not selling it for fuel efficiency but for performance, you need those performance enablres and when competition is offering it, only good engine may not serve well. I know some will say quickshifter and cruise control are letting go to control to machine, but leaving that ego, it takes out your stress from that aspect and let you enjoy more of performance. However you hate ungeared scooters they have taken over, the day they cross their limitations of small wheels, they are going to take over this space also. I don't think Indian s want cheap products, they want value for money, so if you want to give barebones, keep price to barebones or if yoj want to charge premium provide additional things as standard. I see only company thats getting it right in 300 to400 segment is Bajaj and Truimph, RE is legend through its barebones to fully comany customisation offerings. Hope Yamaha learns from RE, Bajaj(Trident), Hero(160 cc scooter with more standard equipment). With MT09 they are making right moves but lacks same vision on R3.
Yamaha doesn't launch High-end Performance machines ln india.... they launch bikes like R15 which they update once in a decade that too with Cosmetic changes 🤡🤡 Yamaha 🤡🤡
This is great much better looks than the previous ugly face. Not to mention the first gen design which is still dope. Happy that yamaha still retains the simplicity without any electronics and fany items.
Disappointing update. That bike has a narrower seat. They are targeting even shorter riders like the women folk as per their advert who doesn't even care about bikes. It is same engine which is smaller and underpowered for that segment. At least the Ninja too put efforts to increase their capacity.
