I have previously painted Tutorial #479. Now that I've practiced this Tutorial #204, I'm thinking that combining the two lessons could make #479 pretty awesome.
Hi Ian, I've only just gotten into painting as therapy for my anxiety & depression and I'm grateful for your instruction on how to do things. This helps me quite a lot. Thanks so much. Stan.
Ho Boy, brilliant. I’ve got a project that’s close to my heart to paint. An old Victorian barn, a photo I took way, way back in around 1980s. We I was we Chickadie, ha-ha. The barn sadly was knocked down years ago and the area is now a yuppie wealthy place to live with posh flats and house and a garden centre near by. The picture was taken in front of Chopwell Woods, and although faded due to age. It’s still good subject to try. Thank you for your help. Having problems stippling would you believe. I can’t seem to find the right brush, so end up using a tiny 00 size brush. WOW that’s time consuming. These videos are really great. I’ve come on millions, you are a bonza fella, for begins so open and helpful absolute free heartedly to beginners.
How I love to watch you paint. I have learned so much. Thank you sooo much for coming all the way from Australia to New Orleans, Loui.siana to make me want to paint more and more. Barbara bishop
I love the fillet brush also. I tend to use Daler-Rowney ones and Royal Langnickle ones. They are soft but get stiffer towards the ferrule and I feel that gives me more control, they are comfortable and well balanced in the hand and they don’t seem to shed like some brushe# do. Gold Artmaster is canny also. I’m learning about the Dagger brush, they are smashing too.
This is a terrific tutorial Ian, as it shall bring me up a few steps, it was excellent for me and I was also amazed at the difference between the two. I am at the in-between stage of this where I get some highlights but could do with more. Thank You.
THIS WAS AWESOME ... this was the best detailed distant tree video I’ve seen.... I am excited about painting some mountains and trees now... thanks Ian... really awesome
I try them also. But mine always end up going their own way somehow and end up looking different. It’s what Ian said, you start to see things in your painting that you evolve and allow to be drawn out. That’s your own individuality coming out, with Ians help.
Thanks for the time you take to explain things to us and uploading these videos Ian. After watching I always come away with some more useful tips. How did you learn? Self taught or lessons? And how long have you been painting?
thank you TL, i am self taught i have always been artistic with graphite but started painting in acrylics 7 years ago with a lot of practicing procedures and pioneering
